"Simple, we get out if here and kill whatever is in out path. We can't help all these people like this, just hope that those plans everyone outside are having succeed."

Stepping forwards, Gwen would throw a dagger into the corpse, before drawing another and waiting for it to get closer.

Attack roll: 3 + 6 = 9
Damage: 1 + 4 = 5

Rosa would stand and wait, preparing her action to stab the corpse once it enters range.

The barrel hits flat against the giant's leg and he is doused with its contents from knee up to nearly his whole thigh. As Rona rushes out of the building, the flaming wood clatters onto the petroleum-laden floor, letting loose trails of ember that feed upon the embers and spread further and further into roaring flame. From where they are standing, Eladra and Rona can easily make out the tips of the raging flames from the building's crack windows. An orange-red spectacle that is no doubt visible for miles on a dark night such as this as the smell of roiling gasoline reaches their nostrils.

As the flames converge upon the barrel, the brute tries to dive out of the way, but with it having such a heavy body, there was simply no time. [Dexterity Saving Throw: 5-1 = 4 (Fail)] The barrel catches aflame and a thunderous boom seals the abomination's fate! Multiple fragments of debris, rock, and wood engorge deep into his body. As Eladra approaches, shrapnel gets thrown the Felstari's way, but she is far enough away that her shield and leather armor shrugs off all harm.

The dust clears and as the giant's dark halberd remains engorged in the earth, crystals are engraved on the haft that emit this eerie dark-purple glow as a pungent scent teases their nostrils, beckoning them in. For Eladra, just being near it generates this warmth between her thighs as carnal images of a woman mounting away at the executioner's thick cock teases her mind.

Flame engulfs the demon's headsack and spreads downwards from his shoulders onwards. [32 fire damage! (7d6)] An unholy bellow rips from the demon's fat throat as the flames sear into his very being, his body flailing about with reckless abandon!

Suddenly the demon's erratic movements send him careening on a straight path straight towards the inn!

Gwen-Dara's thrown dagger plunges deep into the resurrecting retainer's cranium [7 damage!]. When the corpse dares to approach Gwen, a follow-up stab from Vandimion's rapier pierces deep into its shoulder. [(7+5= 12)(4+3 = 7 damage!)] The corpse ceases its stirring and soon becomes still, embracing the final mercy given by lady and sister-in-arms.

[After this round, the dust dissipates.]

[An explosion erupts from O5 on the battlemap, dealing 7d6 fire damage to all creatures in a 10ft cone! A dexterity saving throw of DC 12 is required in order to receive half damage! Being out of range, both Rona and Eladra are unaffected by the blast.]

2nd Floor Battle

Kriv's greataxe is a blur as it cleaves through the air with an inhuman, primal force behind it. A loud crack rings out throughout the hallway as the razor edge of the monster-hunter's trusty beastslayer rends right through bone and marrow! [Critical hit!]

Paleness spreads across the faces of the goblins as they witness half of their dragonborn commander's bone wing fly through the air and the Goblin Warrior staggers backward, the wing's three 'bone fingers' nearly cutting him as it falls to the floor near his feet.

A roar of hatred and agony unleashes from Kraddus as the blow sends him staggering in pain. Just as he gets up to retaliate, both of the warring brothers hear these loud, heavy and rapid footfalls coming from beyond the windows off to their left. They don't even have to turn their heads to register the orange light pouring in through the windows.

Kraddus uses the tip of his greatsword to support himself up, scowling while peering out at one of the windows while the goblins themselves were already white in the face and scattering. The next thing they see is an enflamed executioner throwing himself right at the walls.

"Oh shi -- "

A fierce tremor wracks the entire establishment. A fierce rumbling occurs right under Kriv's feet along with the unmistakable shattering of a structural support on the floor below. The already damaged wood flooring around them lets out a loud rickety whine under the two Darkscale's combined weight. Suddenly several floor pieces around them give way. One of the holes opens right under the Goblin Warrior's feet and he falls in! Through one of the holes, Kriv can see the fire slowly spreading across the tavern floor, engulfing the falling green creature in flame!

One of the goblins, the one with the staff, retreats into the room nearest her then re-emerges with a brown pack. Rifling through it, she secures a piece of rope then calls to the first Goblin archer while hurrying over to one of the windows, "Ovar ket! Ovar ket! Crey! Crey!" She tries to bash away at the window's glass to no avail as the second goblin archer comes over.

Suddenly a piece of small wood debris fell on his shoulder. Not enough to hurt his durable, scaled body, but he notices the rafters in the roof beginning to buckle.

"Damned cowards!" Kraddus shot back at them, but then looked over to his older brother. A despondent cackle comes from him as the flames build beneath there feet while eyeing the structure around them. "Isn't this perfect, Krivvy?I kill you here," He pointed his blade down at one of the open holes, towards the flames. Once again that mutated eye of his bulged with an unsightly clear liquid leaking from the eye socket. ", then we can both visit the old man! And he'll have a nice front seat while I kill you again! What's it gonna be?"

Gwen would pull her dagger from the corpse, then grab her Retainer and move further into the alley, trying to escape the sounds of the explosions.

The flaming demon crashing into the side of the inn caught him by surprise, to say the least. Noticing that the floor below was on fire and the roof was about to cave in... Well... There was only one very dumb, very stupid, and definitely very dangerous thing to do.

"You know what? We'll pick this up later, you sad, mutated sack of pus. I don't intend to die here." He growls, flipping him the bird. With that, he turns and runs straight for the window, holding his axe out in front of him like a spear as he jumps through the window, and immediately twists in the air, sinking the axe into the monster and riding it down, ripping its flesh along the way!

[Okay, so... You said roll for the AC. I got 16 on the second roll.
And then for the athletics thing, I got 13+6=19.]
[I also got 12+3 = 15 damage. +2 for proficiency too, right? In that case it would be 17.]

[Niiice!

One thing though: Proficiency is only added to the attack roll and not the damage roll, so it'll be 15.

But, since you succeeded on the Athletics check? Roll me a 1d6 and add it to the damage roll!]

[Ah crap. I forgot to add the strength mod, so... That +3 is from the d6 I rolled. So the damage is technically 12+3+4= 19.]

Blushing softly, Eladra strides forward and strikes at the haft of the executioners discarded blade with her mace. Maybe if she had been born under different circumstances she would have trusted herself to study it, but not now. “Gwen, Rona, is everyone accounted for?”

Rona would glance around and grimace. "Did the woman from the bar make it out alright?" She asks the two, though not seeing any civilians in the immediate area she can only manage a small shrug. "As far as I can tell Miss Eledra, most civilians seem to have left. I suggest when possible we join them." Rona says, glancing towards the Dragonborn man as he slides down the Executioner via his weapon, raising her eyebrows. "They aren't one of the demons, are they?" The Rodezan would ask a bit apprehensively, still approaching the Inn.

The Land in the Middle
Kriv, Eladra, Rona

Eladra's mace goes swinging down upon the halberd with righteous fury! A loud tong reverberates throughout the area as holy and unholy steel clang together. [5 Damage!] Shortly after the strike, carnal images bombarding the Felstari's mind ceases with the woman letting out a loud, raw moan as tainted flicker in the engraved crystals wanes.

The axe-head of Kriv's beastslayer wedges itself deep within the creature's flesh. Rivulets of warm, hot demon blood cakes the dragonborn's face as he comes to a grinding halt about half-way down the executioner's body about 5 feet up off the ground! [19 damage!] A simple wrenching of his axe is all he needs to drop down to the ground safely.

The executioner's flailing slowls and a muffled cry of agony erupts from his fat throat. The 9ft tall brute sways to the left then to the right before his whole body suddenly tips forward into the inn. He goes against the wall headfirst, his entire weight being like a massive sledgehammer as he ends up smashing right through the walls, crushing the inn's bar counter as he topples onto the interior flooring, flames spreading around him as yet another goblin fell through the upper flooring and into the fiery pit that the tavern is becoming.

From where Kriv is standing, one of the 2nd floor windows off to the left suddenly shatters and he can see a long hempen rope being thrown out. Again the grizzled monster hunter hears that odd dialect from those green creature's in Kraddus' troupe. Although he isn't able to perfectly translate it, he, along with Rona and Eladra notice that a goblin cleric Kriv encountered is getting pushed up by a pair of green arms up onto a window sill despite her struggles. Amidst the orange hues of the flames across her face, the glints of tears on her eyes were ever clear as a pair of green hands give her gentle pushes to go on despite her cries of protest. Suddenly the goblin girl gets pushed hard and she lets out a scream as she goes flying out of the window, hitting the ground off to Kriv's left hard.

Even in spite of her hard fall, the green creature tries to lumber forth towards the building, but her green eyes widen in horror when she hears the wood of the establishment give its final creek.

Eldakar bolts out from the hole in the tavern wall, just narrowly avoiding the trail of fire that was spreading across the wyrmtongue petrol to the building across the street. The hooded woman Rona knocked unconscious is slumped over his shoulder.

Gwen-Dara

As Gwen goes down the alleyway, she nears the end of it only to witness a sudden explosion from the second floor of the crumbling inn off to her left. Traces of that same scent of decay she and Rosa saw earlier permeates the air as a dark dragonborn leaps through a now sizable hole in the wall and out into the square. An unsettling black energy plumes from his mouth like smoke from a dragon's breath. The damaged debris around him decaying into nothingness as he runs off northwards towards that red pillar that they saw emerging from the forest. In his wake, the inn crumbles into a mess of burnt stone and wood.

Suddenly the inn's wood lets out a final large whine before it all goes crumbling down into a fiery mess of burnt stone and wood. 40 ft away, she can see humanoids of multiple races -- human, lupine, even an odd lapine or two in dark leather garb throwing what little else they can onto the wagons before hopping on themselves. The horses let out a loud neigh as the riders drive them into a gallop, following in the dragonborn's direction while carting away on wagons loaded with household items such as vases, jewels while other wagons were loaded with with villagers in shackles. Listening closely, Gwen hears one of them barking orders at the others, "Borroth has fallen! Back to towards the portal! Retreat! Retreat! This is done!" As the wagons roll away, one of them passes over debris on the road and a crate fallings, spilling rocky contents that glimmer in the light of the inn's fire.

If Gwen takes a closer look, she can see that symbol on the side of the crate is unmistakable.

The House of Blue-Fin.

Before she has any more time to mull it over, she sees a green creature come around from the other side of the rubble. Limping on her right leg, tears fell from her green eyes, but even beyond the sadness was this burning hatred. With a violent throw and a scream of rage with all she could muster in her lungs, she chucks her staff towards towards the wagons. Towards Kraddus. Towards any of them, but it merely lands 20 feet ahead of her, the wagons already heading off into the hinterlands towards the forest.

The goblin falls to her knees, hands scraping through that dark purple hair of hers, sniffles and sobs being heard from her as she merely sits there all alone.

Kriv wrenches his axe out of the demon's body and drops to the ground, before turning his head at the sound of the cries. He shoulders his axe as he watches the goblin get pushed out of the inn, and tilts his head when she screams, cries and throws her staff after Kraddus. Hmm... This one could probably be an ally...

He walks over to her, tapping her shoulder, before offering a hand to help her up.

Rona would watch as the wagons took off and curse quietly to herself before taking a moment to calm herself.
The Rodezan takes a few steps towards the goblin, intent on restraining the girl but stops as she sees the Dragonborn approach. Not wanting to tango with him whether he was an ally or friend she let him deal with her and would walk up to Eldakar and relieve him of the cultist, taking the girl into her arms and setting her down. Leaning down she'd bind the woman's wrists if they weren't already bound. Glancing to Eledra she takes a couple of heated breaths, collecting herself before speaking calmly. "Miss Eledra. We cannot let them get away with taking those villagers. At our earliest convenience I would like to discuss plans to save the poor souls taken by these *things*."
With that she'd pick up the cultist and carry the woman in her arms, glaring down at her unconscious body. "I believe this one may have information we need, when she awakens."

Propping her vassal up on a stable wall, Gwen would pick up a burning timber, before marching out to pick up the staff, and turning back to look at the goblin, satisfied at the dragonborn getting her attention.

She would wait for a second, before moving over to the spilled crate and examining the contents, making sure to block the symbol on the crate with her body.

The Land in the Middle
As Kriv approaches the goblin, his nearly 7 foot tall body casts a massive shadow over the goblin that makes her body tremble and her breathing hitch. The pungent scent of demon blood covering Kriv's scales breaks through the smell of charring bodies and wyrmtongue petrol already hanging in the night air. The goblin jumps when the clawed tip of Kriv's finger taps her shoulder and she suddenly lunges into a forward dive, hitting the ground then turning over onto her back.

Her green eyes widen and the color on her green face fades as she stares up at the dark, draconic pillar of death standing over her. The orange light of the nearby flames highlights the red viscera painting his scales. There's a rapid rise and fall to her large, cloth-covered breasts as she eyes the bits of marrow clinging to his axe.

When Kriv puts his large hand forward, she flinches and covers her face in preparation for a final blow.

That final blow never comes.

She lowers her hands then dares to look up into into Kriv's amber eyes. She takes a moment to search them, gulping before extending her own hand out to meet the monster hunter's. As their hands get closer, it's clear that just Kriv's palm alone is enough to cover her whole hand.

Just as her hand clasps around two of his fingers, the sound of gasps and talk coming from the direction of the wagons sends her scurrying behind the Dragonborn's left thigh. Looks of disbelief are plaster villager's faces as they come down the thoroughfare. Not only at the ravaged structures they once called their homes, but also at the large burning corpse of the executioner now lying in the inn's wreckage. And the pair of brave souls still living to tell the tale.

"Gods. They...they actually drove them off!"

Suddenly a heavy-set man wearing a dirty apron comes through, snapping his head left and right as he shouts out, "Phillipa? Phillipa, where are you?" He clenches the rags on one of the villagers closest to him, "My daughter. Has -- has anyone seen my daughter?"

"The gods have abandoned us!" Bellowed a loud female voice over all the others. An old woman pushes through the crowd, stepping forward until she is about 20ft away from Eladra. She points her staff square at Eladra then shouts, "And it's all her doing!" She gestures about at the fallen corpses of guards and villagers around them. Then to the inn that is still aflame, "Comin' through here, spreadin' her taint! Then came the rest! Like moths! Moths, the lot of them! Why, she should be hopping in that fire with the rest of those beasts! It isn't any cleansing light of Astoreth, but it's close enough, I reckon!" Her suggestion is met with shouts of agreement and nods from the rest of the village-folk around her, their glares fixing upon Eladra.

"Now hold on!" Shouts a younger voice above the others.

In the crowd there's a head of messy orange hair making its way through. And sure enough when it gets to the front, the inn-keeper comes out then heads over to Eladra with the old lupine in tow. "How can you say that about her after all she's done? She saved my life!" She gestured to the lupine, "Saved Old Man Bjorn's life, too!"

"You should've sent that devil on her way, Irena! Gave her lodging and now the gods punish us for our transgressions!"

"You're wrong! Just look at what the good madame's wearing!" Bjorn pointed back at Eladra's tabard, "Morne's mercy's still with us even in times like these!"

As Eladra stands there, a faint yet presence tickles at her infernal skin, spreading all over her body. Her holy symbol gives a steady vibration.

[Eladra, a 1d4+WIS modifier if you'd please]

Gwen-Dara

As the sea-elf positions herself in front of the symbol, Rosa takes a step forward, attempting to look over her shoulder "Madame? Is everything alright?"

[Great job on the first two combats everyone! Just a reminder from the tavern, you all gain 60XP. From the encounter with Kraddus, the goblins, the zombies, and the executioner, that totals up to 250 XP each. Added together, that brings you all up to level 2 at 310 XP!]

“Yes, it’s fine. Though it would seem someone was stealing from us... What exactly though...”

Picking up one of the stones, she would take a sniff, then a lick of it.

She would mostly ignore the crowd, taking a moment only to look up at the shouting woman, and lift her hood. Inching to the side, she would show the sigil to her woman-at-arms.

Kriv chuckles a little as the goblin hides behind his thigh, and puts his hand down, ruffling her hair as he stares with annoyance at the old lady. He reaaaally hated it when people dragged religion into everything... He bends and picks up the goblin under one arm like a football as he walks over to the crowd, heading straight for Eladra. He shoves aside anyone too slow to get out of his way in time, coming to a stop in front of the old lady.
"Wanna say that again?" He growls menacingly, looking first at her, then raising his eyes to glare balefully at everyone else in the crowd. "She saves your lives... And this... Is how you choose to repay her. You humans disgust me. Always dragging your god into everything. Always wanting to point the finger of blame elsewhere!" He roars. "This... Was no one's fault. Least of all hers." He says, clapping a hand on Eladra's shoulder.

Rona would scurry through the crowd until she found her way to Eledra's side, the cultist still in her arms. The Rodezan would glare out at the crowd before glancing up to the cleric. "Do not listen to them Eledra. They are too ignorant for their own good."

Turning to the crowd she shook her head, a look of mild disgust on her face. "If she weren't here more would have died. I've known her long enough to know she opposes these beasts as much, if not more than most of you. The difference is she actually did something about it."

Eladra sighs, grasping her holy symbol. “I appreciate your defense Kriv, but that’s enough of that. Their lives will never be the same again. If they want to burn me then so be it, but we need everyone organized and the wounded cared for first.”

As Eladra grips her symbol, a coolness spreads from it across her body like water as a faint presence surrounds her. It doesn't carry the same sensation she felt from the executioner's halberd, no. This feeling is similar to the one that washed over her body when she first took her vows. If she looks down at the symbol, she can she sees the light from the eyes glow a faded blue. There's a small caress against her cheek, the palm is soft and the touch from the fingertips ever delicate like that of a woman. A woman congratulating her child.

Soon, the touch dissipates, and so too does the blue glow of the holy symbol.

[Eladra's corruption is reduced by 6! 10 - 6 = 4. Current Corruption for Eladra is 4! (Remember that 10+ Corruption in the guide? That's where it came from in the first place) Rona, Kriv, and Gwen-Dara are still at 0 corruption.]

The eyes of the crowd, go wide as Kriv's roar explodes into the night air, overpowering the sneers and jeers of the commoners. Their gazes center upon the dark ram symbol engraved on his chest and ones closest to him are quick to take a step back while others glance between the symbol and the axe the annoyed dragonborn is still carrying, speaking to one another in hushed whispers.

"That symbol. The stories really are true. Could he really be a Follower of H --" A sudden strike from a cane crashes against the young villager's noggin, sending him hunching over and recoiling in pain while covering his head.

"Shh! Shhh! Shhh! Gods. Have you been robbed of your senses, boy? Never speak his name!" The elder man brings down another blow upon the young one's shielded noggin. "Do you want another curse set upon our village?"

Smiles are present on both Irena and the Bjorn's faces as the dragonborn joins their defense. Bjorn continues, "If anything, it's the fault of those demons! Them and the bastards who summoned them!"

"Like that green devil there!" One of the villagers shout out while pointing to the goblin. "I saw that thing among them! And more just like her! Ransacked my shop before they went onto the Inn!"

The goblin girl's mouth tries to move in some vague attempt to form words, but her lips only quiver as some of the villagers begin to pick up what slabs of wood and rock they can then attempt to advance upon her, though it would them to go around Eladra, Kriv, Eldakar, and Rona first.

If Kriv looks back at the goblin, it doesn't take much to notice her constant shaking as she begins to backpedal away from them.

From the direction of the wagons comes a thundering of hooves that gets louder until 6 knights come riding past the wagons and into the village. The crowd makes way for them, splitting in half and standing on opposite sides of the thoroughfare as they trot through. The light of the fires nearby reflects off of their pauldrons, helmets and breastplates. Worn over their armor is a tabard depicting gray roses emblazoned on a shield. Similar heraldry is draped on the barded armor of their horses.

"So, the the reports were correct!" The lead cavalryman opens up the visor of his helmet, revealing a pair of furrowed brows and a steel gaze of hazel that hardens as he sets it upon Eladra and the others. Unlike the others, his breastplate is more rounded, modified to adhere to his more heavy-set frame and he carried with him what looks like a long silver trident as opposed to a sword and shield. Emblazoned on his armor is a crest that signifies his position as an officer. "Outrageous! Simply outrageous! Sworn men of the crown outfought by mere mercenaries!" He shifts his gaze back at the wounded village guardsmen still by the wagons. "This is an absolute disgrace!"

Irena crosses her arms, raising an eyebrow up at the captain, "Convenient that Baron Rivendare would send his finest in after all the carnage is said and done with."

"Convenient for the savages, you mean. They were fortunate to have been run off before they'd have the misfortune of facing a secret technique passed down a 140 years through the Abrams family! Behold, commoners! The ultimate strike that carries the fury of a minotaur and the swiftness of a catfolk!" Suddenly the knight-captain raises his trident and twirls it about in the air. His nearby subordinates nearly fall off their horses as they attempt to get clear of the weapon's wide cleaving radius, "GONG-ZONG-RONG-SHEEEFU!"

One of the knights clears her throat loudly and interjects, "Sir? Our mission?"

"What --? Ah, yes!" The captain lowers his trident with a smile of satisfaction, though it doesn't seem like any of the onlooking villagers are giving one in return. "I, Sir Abrams, leader of Rivendare's Glorious Grey Rose Super Heavy Assault Knights --"

"Commander. With all due respect, 'Grey Rose Knights' works perfectly fi --"

"-- have come in search of Lady Silver-Fin's courtier! Lady Gwen-Dara! We were sent news that she wishes to seek audience with the Lord." He notices Kriv and Eldakar, "You two. You're associates with the good madame, are you not? Have either of you seen her? Quickly, quickly! The prestige of our order hangs in the balance!"

[Sorry I took so long with this, everybody. I hope everyone is fairly addressed in this post]

He reaches out and grabs the goblin by the collar of her shirt as he pulls her close, before letting off a low growl as a warning for the others to stay away.
The Knights riding in certainly caught him by surprise, and he pulls the goblin behind himself as he narrows his eyes at the horses galloping in. The human who was speaking was... Annoyingly loud. But that trident... He certainly knew how to use it. Perfect. A loudmouth and someone who was probably dangerous. Perfect.

"You know... They probably would have gotten here faster if this one didn't spend so much time boasting." He says loudly, nodding to the man in the front, before looking around, and then sighing.

"GWEN! SOMEONE HERE FOR YOU! GET YOUR ASS OUT HERE!" He roars loudly, before glancing down at the goblin. "Hey. Relax. I'll protect you, okay?" He murmurs softly, rubbing her head.

Looking up at the sound of the horses approaching, she would touch her torch to the side of the box just long enough to remove burn over symbol of her house, just in case.

Getting up, she would nod to Rosa and wave her forth, before marching to the front of the crowd to present herself to the knights, tugging down her hood and letting her hair free.

“I am Lady Gwen-Dara Bluefin, heir to the Lady Silver-fin and her emissary to speak with your lord.”

Rona narrowed her eyes as the knights rolled in, giving a small huff at the loud leader. As he goes on she actually manages a small snicker and glances towards Irena. "Is this man actually in a position of respect?" She'd ask, not too loudly of course. Approaching the innkeeper she'd look her up and down, normally steely gaze softening and even offering a small smile. "I am glad to see you have made it through the attack. Though my sympathy for the loss of your Inn." After a moment she'd sigh. "Where will you be after this? I had a few questions I was hoping you could help me with."

"Believe you me, it's an idea the baron's daughter put in his head, moreso. The peace tends to be kept if we just go along with it. What little peace there was before --" She cocked her head to the flaming pile of rubble that was once the inn. A pair of two guardsmen approach the fire with buckets full of water. "you know."

"Get more men up here!" the guard barks to his cohort, "Scrapes, bruises, a lost eye -- fuck it! I don't care! If they can walk, tell m' to get off their asses and grab more water from the river! Village 'll be nothin' but flames come mornin' if this don't get put out!"

"After all you've done for me and Bjorn? Ask away." She gestured to the wagons back down the street, "We're gonna be grabbing all we can then heading to the baron's castle to wait out the raids. How about you and your friends come with us? I'm certain there's still some space left on the wagons for you all. Besides, after seeing what you all did to that thing? I think it'd bring some peace-of-mind to the lot of us."

Rosa jumps as the dragonborn's voice thunder's across the village. It's easy for Gwen-Dara to notice the abrupt straightening of the retainer's posture, her curvy thighs rubbing against one another ever so slightly.

When the half-elf gives the gesture to move forward, the brunette sheathes her rapier and follows without delay, walking at her side and whispering "Madame -- with all due respect -- why you continue to associate with someone of his station is simply beyond me. He's untamed beast as much as the others I hear about in his country. " As they round one of the buildings, Kriv comes into view and she tries to keep her voice low, "Savage, uncouth --" Her brown eyes roam up and down that scaled body, seeing the occasional bead of sweat running down those exposed abs. Her breathing catches. "and...brash."

Abrams bares his teeth at Kriv, his grip on the trident tightening, but it loosens as Gwen-Dara comes into view, "Ah, how fortunate that you emerged from this unharmed, madame. A battlefield like this is no place for a woman of such gentle birth. Not to worry. We'll have you in one of our finest wagons and we, the Glorious Gray Rose Super Heavy Assault Knights, will ensure you safe journey to the lord's castle!"

A red tinge makes its way onto the goblin girl's cheeks and she clings to the dragonborn's leg, her large breasts pressing against it. "Xali." She says it in a low tone, but then she looks up at Kriv and repeats herself, gathering her voice. "M-My name is Xali."

"Oh, and what's this?" Abram's trots his horse closer to Kriv, and there's this odd glint in his eyes as he stares down at Xali's figure. The goblin girl tries to hide herself further behind the dragonborn's leg, but the commander maintains his stare, not even locking eyes with Kriv. "Hey. Dark One." He lowers a hand to one of the pouches on his belt and unclips it. He shakes it and there's this unmistakable sound of coin jingling within. "How's about I offer you 50 gold pieces for your prisoner there? I wager she'd make a fine trophy as a sign of our victory here today. Yes, I'm sure a beast slayer like yourself has little need for her, isn't that right?"

Rivendare Castle is just a bit to the east from Zendar.

Also, that red symbol up there near the forests? That's the red pillar that everyone can see from the village.

“Why, dear Rosa? Well because he is useful, and a person just like us. And you should not attempt to hide those feelings. If you feel that way, you have my blessing to bring up said matters with him yourself.”

As they approached the knights, Gwen would size up the man and his words, giving him a rather polite smile before replying.

“Why of course, it certainly was rather dangerous here. Please tell me, Sir Knight, how many does did you fight through on your way here? Truly, to be so delayed, it must have been quite the army. By the time you got here, I had to resort to slaying an undead by myself.”

Tilting her head now, ever so slightly, she would lift her chin and smile slightly wider.

“If my dear, brave, servant Rosa was here, then that delay of yours could have been quite fatal. Though, I am wholly forgiving, as their siege to your castle must have been quite intense, was it not?”

Rona would smile warmly at the innkeeper and would glance around at the nearby crowd. "I would prefer to ask these questions where we may have some semblance of privacy. As for now I can help you load up whatever you may need. Or may have left at this rate." She remarks with a grimace before the Rodezan would begin eyeing the Innkeeper over carefully. "I would like it if I were able to personally accompany you, to...to ensure your safety of course." Rona adds with a meek smile, a half blush dusting her cheeks.

With that she would begin helping civilians load any supplies they may have left onto the wagons, not letting Irena get too far out of her sight.

"Xali, hmm? Okay." He murmurs, using his tail to pat the top of her head as he looks up at Abram. "Fifty gold, eh? Well, unfortunately, she isn't for sale, bud. She's my trophy. Fair and square. You want her, you fight me for it. Understand?" He says, arching an eyebrow. "But, since you're in such a generous mood, why don't you donate those coins to the people of this village, eh? I'm sure they could use it for rebuilding. Besides... Maybe they'll think a little better of you." He says, smirking and crossing his arms as his tail wraps around Xali's waist, holding her safely within its coils.
He glances at Gwen-Dara, then narrows his eyes at the new face next to her for a moment, before turning back to Abram. "So? What do you say? Are you going to help the village or pay fifty gold to sate your lusts with a goblin?" He asks, a wide grin on his face.

The Land in the Middle
"I bet my safety isn't the only thing that'll be insured." As they go about loading supplies onto the wagon, Rona feels an occasional brush of Irena's fingers across her exposed, toned midriff as the inkeeper passes by.

Gasps of dread come from the crowd when Gwen-Dara brings up a siege.

"Gods, is that true? Did they really attack the lord's castle, too?"

"Then we should flee for the capital! Or Shardsbury! The lord-governor or His Majesty will definitely take us in!"

"Silence!" Sweat pours down the commander's brow as the both the dragonborn and the half sea-elf's questions poke and prod at him like spears. "Indeed, their attack was fierce -- but still they were no match for our impenetrable defense! And you would question my generosity to the commons?" Albeit with a bit of difficulty, the commander manages to get one leg over the saddle and dismounts the horse. Kriv, of course, towering over him, he has no choice but to look up at the dragonborn. "You just stand there and see how it's done Dark One! There is no one more charitable than we -- the Glorious Gray Rose Super-Duper Heavy Assau--"

The sound booming thunder brings silence to all voices. From the northern forests, large blood-red pulsations emerge from the scarlet pillar pillar of light and echo across the hinterlands. When it passes through the village, the very night air itself turns frigid cold for a moment and a bitter taste hangs on everyone's mouths.

Whuuuuuum!

Loud neighs come from the noble steeds of the knights and the wagon-bound horses. Abram's horse suddenly rears up like a mad beast possessed, its flailing front hooves hitting the commander square in the face and knocking him unconscious. It goes into a full gallop, nearly trampling down several villagers who narrowly step out of the way as it heads straight towards, Kriv, Eladra, Gwen-Dara, and Xali! [Strength (Athletics) check or Animal Handling (Wisdom) check optional here, DC 10]

One of the knights clings to the reigns of their horse as it shakes and struggles, cantering from side to side. "Everyone remain calm! And someone help the commander on the wagon!" With a harsh tug of the reigns, they manage to bring their steed back into order, "There've been sightings of monsters within the castle's vicinity, but the walls still remain secure! There's enough food and shelter for everyone here!" The knight raises the visor of their helm, revealing a soft, rounded face in comparison to the commander's squared, fat jaw and a pair of indigo eyes that lack the steeled gaze of the usual soldier. The leather armor does little to hide those svelte shoulders or those wide, womanly hips. "You have my word on that."

"If you wish to take your chances fleeing further to the capital or Shardsbury, then we won't stop you! But for those of you who would remain, I ask that you put your faith not just in me. Not just in any of the knights or guards here. But in the lord of your fief to keep you safe! Whatever your decision, we'll be leaving in 15 minutes!" He directs his gaze over to the guards putting out the fire near the inn, "Forget about the flames for now. We'll need everyone we can muster back at the garrison. Send a runner to retrieve any horses they didn't manage to snag from the stables!"

"Yes, sir!"

As one of the guardsmen goes off to fulfill his orders, the knight-lieutenant looks over to Gwen-Dara and Kriv, "I can't thank you and your friends enough for protecting the town when we couldn't, madame. We already owe you a great deal, but I would ask one final request of you and your companions." The officer ducks into a bow. This time it wasn't just to Gwen-Dara for her noble birth. No, this bow was to the whole band of executioner-slayers regardless. "Please. All of you. Lend us your strength. This village won't see another sunrise, but I ask now that you help us ensure that it's people will."

A guardsman comes around the corner bearing 3 horses for the adventurers as the knights and guardsmen await their decision.

Curtsying right back to the more courteous of the knights, Gwen would offer her a much more pleasant smile.

“Thank you for the more civil mind you bear, Ser Knight. I will gladly aid as I can, however much of a help I can be. Please, give my horse to my woman-at-arms, she is injured.”

Turning to her servant, who would likely raise an objection, the half-elf would usher her to one of the steeds.

“Go on, it only makes sense. And I have more for you to do.”

Turning back to the knight, she would once again smile.
