Well, If i count like this, I feel like we simply need more planets.

A branching story for the sake of a branching story is a retarded idea when the game's side content is all assuming that the current system is the only path. Plus a race has more narrative impact and lessens the noticeably of your rival conviently showing up at every probe cus there is only one way to get to the final probe side planets are still fine though.
Oh, sorry, my mistake. I missread your post and did not notice that the "Alt" was not a "All". My mistake. I agree, branching storys for the sake of branching storys is pointless.
We should at least not branch retroactivly.
At best, we could trow a 'Mario Odysee' for the next probe and go something like: "The Probe gives you two coordinats. That is strange."
Go to A. Recive one half of the map. Go to B. Recive the other half. Order irrelevant, but you will still need to do A & B to get to C.
Additional, haveing two inviroments at arround the same Level is benefical for contentcreators, since it considerable (doubles) the avaible areas and how their Races of enemys or merchants or whateveryouwantthemtobe can fit into. Also, two new Meadhalls. That is allways a pro.
And when you travel to the other planet after having found your Probe, you meet your Cousin, in space, having hired some mercs to get the half of the map from you.
Going for it themself did not turn out good for them, afterall.
All we need now is a lava and water world and we'll have covered all the bases!
You forgot Green Hills Zone and World 1-1.

Oh my god, that gave me an AMAZING idea! The planet would suck, but not in a literal sense. It could be a planet where oral is like a huge thing, and there could be really unique and interesting interactions if you have a mouthgina or lipples, and we can have characters with their own mouthginas and lipples.

Err. Your rival explained that, actually. Either they get to each probe before you did. OR...in the case you kept them from doing it. They just followed you there. It's what they said they would do if you just out bid them for the Tarkus one.
That said: Actually I'd be more aggravated by alt worlds simply because that means content I can't access. In a smut game. Because I happened to get the wrong planet. Suddenly bee people don't exist in my file.
If/when alt planets become a thing you won't be locked out of the content, just that only one of them will have the probe.
