Best Background

I deleted my old saves by accident so im starting again, but before chosing a background i want to know which one offers the most responses/interactions in general, i already went barbarian so i wanna change a little.

I'd try Thief or Mage next; they usually get a decent number of extra dialogue and skill checks. Hope the new run treats you better than the lost saves did!

I mean the backgrounds like minstrel, barbarian or noble scion

Soldier is pretty nice. It's nothing game-changing, but a few characters acknowledge you for it and ask you about it. You also get special dialogue options when training Kinu and Valencia to fight.

Noble Scion occasionally mentions your education and your noble background. Basically, you understand how the nobility work.

So much knowledge lost in the aftermath of the Godswar...

Based on the times when the Scholar background gives you some insight on a topic and the times when it notably doesn't, it seems that the Champion's formal education mostly focused on history, politics, and basic magical theory.

Speaking of, is there like a master list of where which Backgrounds come into play? I'd looooove to try some of them, but a lot don't seem to make mention at all. One that comes to mind is the Slum Rat being able to do pretty much everything in the Mage Ship's Captain Quarters without causing a Strike.
