I think it's just "SPOILER" in brackets. The ones you used were "ISPOILER" (which means inline spoilers, I think?). You can also add an equals and a text string to define the spoiler title as well, so something like: Hope that helps.

From what I can recall, no you don't need to participate. I think the item is set on a timer (Harru's research timer), which should activate upon meeting her. The timer lasts about 3 days. Afterward, you can visit her and she should be selling it.

I may need to get a copy of your save file for testing, but the "Join Crew" button should be in her menu if she was ever recruited (regardless if she is on Canadia or not), so there shouldn't be a need to talk to her to access that option. If Kiro is a bimbo though, I don't think it would be...
