Cloud Meadow (S-Purple's Breeding Season)

Is amazing that Cloud Meadow already has almost 9k in Patreon, a large number of supporters, considering that the future of the game still looks very uncertain...

I wouldn't call it uncertain. I would call it a scam, just like Breeding Season.

I understand everyone to be skeptics about this new project. With everything that happened, many people were... "disillusioned" as happened in fact a steal in the case of Breeding Season.
The project was very large, which I believe have shaken people's confidence in Patreon.
But we hear both sides, and I believe that everyone deserves a second chance... Maybe S-Purple deserves a second chance with his new project.

You know you're allowed to say "fuck", right?

Also... you'd rather support a regime that suppresses its citizens, murders its dissenters, tells its people that they're getting the best of everything while givig them the worst of everything, and is trying to put nuclear weapons in the hands of a narcissistic, unstable dictator... over a guy who might or might not have lied or a guy who's just really bad at managing stuff.

Like, I get hyperbole is a thing, but Christ, get some fucking perspective.

Its trust thing what i was trying to say, i have more trust in NK regime than any of the other 2 guys thats how low they have fallen for me personally. As wierd as it sounds from me they have lost any and all trust.

Breeding Season was his second chance. He did a similar thing with a previous game called BroQuest(or something). We can go Baseball rules if ya like with 3 strikes but he's already 2 down.

In fact, you're right, except it S-Purple accomplished his work in Breeding Season until the end. (According to his explanation of his side of the story)
But the guilt would be entirely of H-Bomb? He really seems to be who acted more wrong in this story.

But we could put all the blame only on H-Bomb? He really seems to be who acted more wrong in this story.

He didn't accomplish his work. He spent the last few months doodling and sending them to Vanilly to complete, putting her under a huge work load. Up until the last month or longer, I guess, when he decided to start working on Cloud Meadow while still accepting money for Breeding Season.

They both fucked up. And in my opinion there was something seriously fishy about the way the project was being handled all along. They were making ridiculous amounts of money every month and releasing very little content to show for it (as a contrast, Fen and Savin push multiple updates a week sometimes and there's almost always a new public build every month). They were stringing along their audience so they could keep milking them.

That said I'm more inclined to judge S-Purple's game on its own merits than on his. If it seems like he's making good progress on a good game I'll consider supporting it. Until that point, no way.

Poor Vanilly is just about the only person in the whole scenario I feel sorry for. She had nothing to do with the game going under, she was under two or three times the workload she should have been, and she's left just as high and dry as H-Bomb.

Who took care of the financial and Patreon contributions was H-Bomb, who was the project manager.

What does that have to do with S-Purple shoving all his work off onto Vanilly? And why are you so determined for it to be entirely H-Bomb's fault and none of S-Purple's?

Oh... sorry I did not let clear about my perspective. Well... I'm not advocating S-Purple just I believe H-Bomb is really the most wrong in this story, since he probably stayed with most of the project money.
fact... S-Purple was wrong in dividing their work between two projects and I believe he should have sold the rights of art to H-Bomb, this could open up the possibility that the project had not ended.

Okay, I see your point there. I misunderstood you.

But of course S-Purple isn't going to sell off his art. Why would he do that when he can take it ready-made into his own project and go right back to milking people while having to do a tiny fraction of the work it normally takes to get a game off the ground?

I really hope Vanilly came out of this okay. At worst, it at least got her a ton of exposure.

Couldn't really give less of a shit about Breeding Season or Breeding Season II, but I'd just like to say I love the fact OP's only post was to start this thread. Just threw this dirty bomb in here and then ran like hell, didn't he.

I lol'd.  Speaking of which, iirc, the forum was already... lively... about Breeding Season's end before he dropped it, and the way he intro'd it... it was like he really was trying to stir people up and play innocent later.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you guys, personal disaster plus coordinating the last release. Suffice to say I'm moving into a new place and back full time on the project.

Now, back to the actual topic of this thread; @JudgeHeath Once you have a public build with MxM content, I'll try it out.  I've decided to judge your project on it's own merits, regardless of the issues surrounding it.  That said; consistency in releases is probably the most important criteria of all, which I'm sure you can agree with.

That should be coming (in sprite sex form) sometime this month with Centaur x Centaur sex possibilities. It'll later be included in full animation once the male protagonist is added.

As do I on both counts. Go Sierra Lee, maker of awesomeness and taker of my money for over a year...and it's been worth it.

But joking and supporting aside, I'm going to say that while what I've seen on the patreon looks promising...but until I can test the public build and also see legitimate and consistent progress in the game's development, I'm going to withhold funding as of now. I don't fund anything I can't get a feel for/verify as a worthy investment, and I never buy a pig in a poke. I wasn't invested in BS to begin with, especially after losing track of it for over a year and coming back to little to no progress being made, and to be honest I simply do not care about what happened with that game at this point. All I care about is whether or not this game will deliver.

Public build is out. You can find it here. https://www.patreon.com/posts/public-release-3-6658958

As to everyone else going on about who stole what, who was doing what, and who is to blame? I'm just going to redirect you to S-Purple's own response, which pretty much word for word covers everything except the whole project manger fiasco. Yes. S-Purple did veto a project manager. He veto'd the one that HBomb wanted to hire, and then HBomb never got any other applicants. The prospective project manager in question was a business school freshman in his first semester of college who was demanding to be paid full time for a job he couldn't possibly do 8 hours a week due to also having to maintain a college schedule, and was asking for an hourly wage that was obscene for someone with no experience. Further, the contract HBomb wanted to give the guy would have forced the kid to contact HBomb for every single little detail and change he wanted to enact in how the game was being developed, putting him in a position where he was paid to be impotent and unable to actually do anything without being able to talk with HBomb, who as has been said before, was not available for 3 out of 4 weeks every single month. Now if you still think that S-Purple was in the wrong for protesting and shooting down adding another person to the project who couldn't have actually done anything, that's your business. I'm just setting the record straight.

Also, everybody going on about broquest really needs to actually research what happened. S-Purple was literally only brought on to do art, there was no programming done in that game, at all, after 2 years of development. Broquest was dead long before S-Purple decided to leave it, and when he did leave it, he left them all of his art assets, which is what the Shouldron game is using.'

That's the last I have to say on the matter of S-Purple's reputation. I defend him because he's my friend, but anyone unconvinced by the evidence already put out, and what I've just said here, isn't going to be convinced, and it's dragging the thread off topic.

I hope you guys enjoy the public demo. Next one will be coming out at the end of this month.

Regardless of how I feel about S-Purple, I'll be willing to give this game a shot but only when the male protagonist is in and functional. Hitler himself could come back from the dead and make a porn game and I'd give it a shot and judge it based on the merit of the game.

Now, onto a more important topic. Will there be traps/femboy monsters? If that's been answered I dunno where but I'd like to know. It's already got the other things I like with the stacked cowgirls and such but I'd like to see just how many of the things that appeal to me might be in the game.

So what is this Cloud Meadow? I'm new to the interwebs.

A monstergirl/boy breeding game with farming and combat elements. You can find the link to the patreon in the second post of the thread.

They are planned yes. Our user base will need to vote for the Chimera, but they're the first planned trap/reverse trap (trap or reverse trap actually won't be revealed for any one chimera until we implement the genderswaps, until then it'll be an androgynous mystery)

Either you're setting the record straight or you're defending a friend. Those two don't mix well. Besides, you're involved in the creation of Cloud Meadow so you're doing a whole lot more than just defending a friend.

You might want to stick to just posting updates and answering factual questions. There's no point in trying to 'set the record straight' since you're part of S-Purple's team and thus not likely to be taken at your word.

Stop trying to derail the thread with vitriol. I swear people are intentionally doing this to steer the direction of this thread into a quite a negative thread just to spite and bash those working on the project. That type of talk was okay in the other thread but this is a game thread about the development of the game not a thread where people should be bashing the creator and those working on the project. What was said in the other thread should be done and over with, dropping the subject is the best course of action. To try bring the subject back to narrow views some fanboi's have isn't the best course of action.

Then you're saying that just because he is a friend of S-Purple he is lying at some point of what he said... And we can not consider any of his words.

Your distrust seems a little... exaggerated.

Feel free to point out which part of my post was vitriolic.

I also love that suggesting someone focuses on updates and factual questions is derailing the thread in your book.

No, I'm saying there's no point in him trying to defend S-Purple here.

Or do you think the people that already have a negative opinion because of the whole Breeding Season crash and burn are likely to be swayed by someone that is involved in the new game?

Pardon? I'm not apart of any fanclub. I happen to see both sides of what you are trying to argue only that from what I've read SP has shown more proof of his side of the story. Show me proof that w/e it is your trying to say to disprove that SP is in your opinion a lying dirtbag and maybe... MAYBE I might change my mind.

In the words of Ted you are only posting whitenoise in this thread by continuing with trying to prove and point out that the developer and those working with him are liars. And it seems you named your account aptly and looks as if your trying to do exactly what your name suggests which is to try and bring this thread 'Down the Drain.'

Where did I accuse him, the dev, or anyone else of lying, let alone try to prove it?

Where did I make any claim about who is right or wrong in this clusterfuck at all?

Where did I attempt to convince anyone of my opinion, hell, where did I even state any opinion about Breeding Season and/or Cloud Meadow?

For someone that claims to not be a fanboy you're awfully eager to pick a fight with me over shit I never even said. Either point out where I picked a side and and 'posted whitenoise' trying to prove whatever or back the fuck off.

Considering many things were clarified, especially who is the biggest culprit for the failure of Breeding Season, you seem to condemn S-Purple, his team and the new project...
I do not like seeing someone by attacking another without any real reason.

Same deal as the guy before you, point out clearly where I attacked or condemned S-Purple in any way, shape or form.

prepares the bunker for assault

It's not perfect by any means, the UI needs serious overhauling in both area interactions as well as the combat targeting and explanations for what the moves do and to whom. As it stands only the enter key is used for general interactions and that's against the usual placement for computer games of this nature. The bar at the end of each conversation also is a spanner thrower, as it causes the text to jump if it's far enough at the end. The combat tutorial is buggy and prone to freezing...

But for all of that, compared to BS and in it's own right...it's engaging. The exposition at the start is both general but grounding, giving the player enough setting to allow character interactions to work off of it without drowning them in minutea. The tutorial exposition itself is equally entertaining and feels like a genuine tour between the characters that have some idea of what they're talking about while still helping the player learn what they are discussing. The art is about the same but I did like it before and now is no different. The 2 scenes with the 'merchandise' were a bit jerky in execution but felt more...lively than BS, and all around I find myself actually paying attention to what I was playing and caring about learning the game. The characters also feel like relatively real people and their reactions/interactions feel relatively natural as opposed to outright 2 dimensional caricatures like they were in BS.

It's a good start and while it's way too early on for me to feel certain that I'll want to invest via patreon...it's certainly given me a positive first impression and definitely made a better one than BS did, both the first time and the time I found it again.

A monstergirl/boy breeding game with farming and combat elements. You can find the link to the patreon in the second post of the thread.

One question: Will pregnancy and lactation for monsters beyond the Holstaur be in the game? Because the cop out of "the pregnancies are chaos magic that summon the spawn instantly." really detracted from the breeding aspect of BS and negated a lot of it's appeal. I can definitely say that if pregnant content/art made it into the game that money of mine would feel a lot more inclined to wander over to CM's patreon.

@Avyta & @Ethereal Dragon, from what I can see, you guys inferred that @DownTheDrain's comment that '@JudgeHeath shouldn't bother to try and defend it because he's part of the team' was some sort of attack on his character, or that he was suggesting the team was untrustworthy.  From what I can tell, he wasn't saying that at all.

Rather, he was saying that people who have a strong negative opinion of S-Purple aren't going to put much stock in the word of people he's working with now, and as such, @JudgeHeath shouldn't waste his time attempting to convince the unconvinceable. The bit about 'setting the record straight' and 'defending a friend' being mutually exclusive is to reinforce the prior point.  It's also true in a general sense, which is why judges recuse themselves when someone they know is on trial; if you're personally involved, impartial accountings of the events are difficult to impossible.

TL'DR it was a misunderstanding, plz drop it.  Let the drama wither and die.
