Oh, nice. Honestly, I didn't expect it to be completed already. Can't wait for it to get implemented into the game.
I really liked the slyveren crewmember content. But I wasn't very fond of how pushy and full of herself Siobhan is, and how she stays in control despite self-proclaimations of being a slave.
I hope Steele can actually train her and whip that awful attitude out of her in the crew content.

Nastizia Expansion Pack Part 1: The Lossening is LIVE. As mentioned on the blog, this was a huge piece of work. It was one of those things where I considered the possibility of the PC losing the contest with Riya, whether to even acknowledge it or just turn it into a dead end, and went 'well if I'm going to allow for it, I may as well do it properly'. The scale got a bit out of hand, - I'm a little worried about doing the win half justice in comparison at this point, truth to be told.
In game terms though I think you only get to something like this - exploring the ramifications of the PC failing a major challenge in depth - in a smut game. It adds a great sense of depth (and peril/temptation), so overall, I'm very happy with how it turned out, even though not everyone's going to enjoy it,
And to all of you who like soft BDSM, neotorare, SPH, chastity and subby threesomes - well, I hope you feast.
I know the team doesn't like one writer touching another writer's existing work, but since you're working on Riya now, has there been any discussion on potentially letting you edit her old stuff?
I'm not necessarily against a raceplay character existing considering slavery and whatnot is on the table here, but Riya's old content is really poorly written IMO and it ruins her forever going forward. It genuinely feels like her old writer was more interested in creating ragebait than an actual character.
She has a whole "side quest" which is just the game hamfistedly going "Look! Look how cool she is! You want her around, right??" and failing miserably at it. She drops the absolute banger of a line that is "All fucking Ausar must fucking hang" (IN THE MIDDLE OF EVERYONE BEING SHOT AT) and then Grence at the end of the quest is like "Are you sure you want to get rid of her? Are you REALLY sure? She's so badass and awesome and good at her job though...".
You can punch her and get her kicked off Tavros, but neither option is written to be particularly satisfying. The only comeupance she gets is optionally in Nastizia's quest, and it's well done but a little late at that point.
I don't think she needs to be removed (even though I would gladly shove her out an airlock if given the chance), but some editing to make her less of a writer's pet would go a long way to making her bareable. Annoying characters are one thing, but annoying characters that are shielded from all consequence by writing are perhaps one of the gravest sins you can commit in fiction. ESPECIALLY a choice-based video game. See: Delphine in Skyrim.

The fact that the option to remove her was specifically added and all it does is move her around definitely gives it this feeling imo.
The issue would be access to Riya's old docs. Franks did give me permission to use her however I wanted when he left (although I'm not sure if that extended to editing her existing material), but I've a bad feeling he'll have gotten rid of those docs by now, and I didn't make copies. So if I were to do something like that it would probably be a case of tediously playing out all of her scenes including variants.
I'm not opposed to doing it in theory - her initial sex scenes are actually pretty good, but everything surrounding them has the pong of unwashed bedsheets and stale fast food about it. I wouldn't mind hosing them down and bringing them more in line with her later content, where racism is not literally her only personality trait. We'll see if an opportunity to do it arises.
You try to get her removed, she just moves to another perfectly good post elsewhere. You punch her, you get tazed and/or arrested. You complain to her buddies, they're all "But she's so cool tho you should like her". Not even just Grence, there's another guy in the Black Void encounter who does the same thing when you complain about her to him.
I can't think of any other character in TiTS who gets that level of glaze from the game itself, and it only ended because she was literally given to a different writer altogether.

Honestly, I have a hard time seeing someone get lots of requests to make a character removable, then adding a button to do that, only to then go "sike, she's still in the game just somewhere else!" as placative in any way whatsoever
