I hope this isn't too much of a necro but I saw in the newest patch notes that telekinetic warrior got some buffs. Has anyone tested how trying to play an unarmed psi monk kind of character is doing after the buffs?
I haven't tested it, but I don't think the buff makes much of a difference. Accuracy is now equal to Level instead of Int/10. But that's not why it was 'slept on'.
Damage = 4 (Level/2 + psiWillpower/2)
Level 13, max Will = 48 Kinetic, Crushing damage, 13 Accuracy
If all you care about is damage, that's pretty good. It's the 2nd highest Ranged weapon, and the only Melee weapon that beats it gets only one attack/round (and isn't actually available).
You're missing out on bonus stats like Evasion/Crit and/or Flags. If you want to hit Flying targets, that's what Levitate is for. Kinetic damage is commonly resisted and almost never a weakness (I know of two). Because 'Telekinetic Warrior' is coded as a replacement weapon, you still have to max Physique/Aim. (Though raising Physique is a good idea anyway, because it's also used defensively.)
I'm sure it's perfectly functional if you want it for flavor/roleplay reasons, but it's not nearly equal to Third Eye Aim.
