As a pathetic incel with a terrible self-image as liable to spend the next 20+ years as alone as I did the last 20+ years, living vicariously through characters that doesn't look or act anything like myself is sort of my default go to point.. Which I guess is good in this case since I on some level can enjoy all of the content to some degree. (Well, at least when it catches my interest sufficiently and I don't end up skipping huge swaths of it because I'm floofed out...) But my self-depreciating point is, sometimes it's a bonus to be able to disassociate a little bit from yourself, especially in erotica.

Though I do get the feeling; I have a friend who can't play a game if he doesn't have an identifiable self-insert to the point that he plays himself in every RPG, and treats the single playthrough as what happened and could ever happen because that's how he did it, and I've been arguing with him about diversifying that for a decade without making progress, so I get it by now...

This is the kicker for me for a lot of characters in this game.
I'd just like to say this really makes me appreciate that you write for this game. You understand and relate to the playerbase in ways the other devs and writers don't seem to (at least from my perspective) and you're in a position to provide content that appeals to even the smaller sides of the base. I think that's awesome and very sorely needed.

Just want to say thanks for the work, Alypia. I hope you keep it up.

I usually steer clear of Kiyoko's stuff. I'm not all that interested in her content and I don't really like the vibes of the den in general. And while you can say that it's a pretty successful emulation of what it's like to be culturally alienated by a group of people, I'd also say that I can't imagine a lot of people would want to willingly subject themselves to that. But there's also a lot of people that see Kiyoko and the den and go "sexy fox people". And you know? Fair enough.

I guess I'm also a bit neutral on Quin. I just haven't interacted with him much. He's kind of skeevy but I don't go out my way to not interact with his content like Kiyoko. And where the line lays for skeeviness in this game is kind of dubious.

I also briefly considered Agni, but I actually really like her content. She just hasn't gotten more content to her yet. But I do like what's there. She's got an interesting point of view on things and I'm interested to see more of it.

I think I play the game a bit differently then some/ most people. I usually can't really see myself in the PC. Sure it's fun domming and beating up a bunch of npcs but still. Having said that, the way you write Annika's scenes....yum... no issues whatsoever love my domme valky dick milf.

Very much agreed 100 % with this statement, all of Aly's content is an absolute joy, no matter what type of character I'm playing when encountering it. Wsan and SKoW are both brilliant and two of my faves (placement varying from scene to scene honestly) but Aly's content is by far my favorite in this game by now, and I'm hoping for a lot more of it.

Agnimitra: Her introduction felt out of left field. Still haven’t seen enough content from her to make any solid opinions.

Arona: Her character is ‘muh dick’, funny at times but mostly tiring to hear. I also don't like how even if you don't fuck her she still thinks of you as her alpha.

Atugia: Her being a dullahan has felt very extra and something she could’ve easily done without. Visually, she’s kind of an eyesore. The combination of detailed muscles + full body freckles + bright blue tattoos + glowing purple neck is too much for me.

Azzyran: Putting aside my issues with her Liaden relationship, I just find her personality bland. She's a nice girl with no spice. I also find her wanting to head pat people cringe.

Brint: He’s a bro, if Brienne didn’t exist I’d still probably use him. My only real complaint about him is that his reason for traveling with us is weak.

Brienne: I like genderbend stories, so when I heard I can turn a giant minotaur into my cow wife, I beelined it to the cursed armor. But the way the cursed armor works felt like it skipped too many steps when it gave us Brienne. Half the fun of gb stories is seeing them adapt to their new bodies but we don’t really see that with Brienne much. I would’ve liked it more if it had gone Brint > Girl Brint > Brienne. Also don’t like her bright red lipstick and flesh colored cow ears.

Cait: I don’t really feel anything about her which I feel is my main complaint about her. I think I feel this way mostly because I find fuck buddy characters boring.

Etheryn: She’s cute in a little sister way for me. I still feel she should’ve been an NPC instead of a companion.

Kiyoko: She feels way too detached from the rest of the game world and plot than any other companion. I also didn’t get the point of the pokeball orb. Like she felt set up for a fish out of water story after being trapped for hundreds of years, but she’s none the worst for it after escaping. I also don’t like that Kiyoko doesn’t have any branching character paths while Kinu does. Really feel that Kinu and Kiyoko should’ve been merged into one character.

Quinn: A former cultist of a sex crazed demon worshipping cult should’ve made for a fun companion but so far his time in the cult has just been used to make the player pity him. I guess I feel like he’s too much of a crybaby.

Viviane: Same complaint as Cait. Her demon transformation felt lazy, also where the hell is her lethicite?

For me, it's less about seeing myself in the PC, more about connecting with scenes and characters. I play all kinds of different champions, mostly d. girls and females, but for me to really like a writer's content personally, I need something that can connect me to it. Exclusively dick-focused NPCs are hard to relate to, and I'm not really attracted or drawn to them. I've learnt that a lot of these types of characters simply don't cater to my interests.

I'm not saying I think they shouldn't exist--of course they should--but NPCs that don't care about such things or are less exclusive to dicks are more my speed. They have more content that I like and I don't feel as disconnected to their preferences and scenes.

I feel the same way. I do like writers that can write a different variety of scenes that encompass or include my PCs unique genitalia (double dick herm for win!!) Big reason I like the way @Alypia writes is she is very detailed with her NPCs when it comes to interacting with the PC. No dick? No problem? Got dick? No problem. Got dick and vagina? WEEEE LETS PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!

And as a side note cause I had nowhere else to put it...and I'm already fan-boying...it took a tremendous amount of patience and save shuffling to get to Annikas virginity scenes but the payoffs....

Kinda wish we had the old CoC system where some companions had a corrupt alternative variant.
Amusingly, all this Kiyoko talk made me think of how, in most of my CoC runs, I'd corrupt Amily just because of how she needed to be bred in order to join the camp. So much for Sob Backstory #5988.

Giving her all of those kids, while being limited in terms of what kind of dick she can take or how much corruption my character could have when visiting her... so fucking tiring lol. I think I did it a single time, ever, without cheating and just editing the kids with Amily quest number. Or corrupting her.

Speaking of, I guess it's impossible to play the first CoC game anymore now that Flash is non-functional.
You can still play it, I play the Xianxia mod sometimes, you just need to download a standalone Flash player. I use one of the regular Adobe official ones, not even sure which one, but third party free players exist as well.

(Sorry for the double post but MarcoPolo posted just as I hit post, and my dumb ass can't figure out how to insert quotes into existing posts, kek)

With all the hate being directed towards Kiyoko and the den I kinda feel like weighing in on my perspective and personal thoughts/ views. Yes the entire den is supposed to represent a sorta pseudo-Japanese culture where the PC is alienated no matter what they do but honestly I felt that on a much deeper level because I'm mixed and neither of my cultures really accept me and my family. Yes we are part of them. Yes they love us but there is always this thin wall of separation. One side of the family or other will always be just a bit to polite, say something in just the correct tone of voice to let us know even though we were born into the family we are not "one of them." Maybe that's why I have 86+ kids with her on one character. Just food for thought it isn't just a Japanese culture thing.

I don't know if people saying Kitsune, the fox people in CoC2 are "realistic" to all Japanese people realize how weird that is. But it is really weird.

But even if that's true, who's fetish is it to be made to feel like a tourist? What is the player meant to take away from this except to avoid them? Who is out there saying "I want to feel like people are only polite to me because they're made too" I don't get it.

Feels like a waste of a LOT of content and a companion to me.

Have you ever heard of C**khold/C**kqueen fetish, Small Penis Humiliation, Degredation, Humiliation, Cock & Ball Torture or Financial Domination? For some people, being made to feel like trash is their fetish. Hell I keep seeing them crop up on some of the porn storefronts I browse from time to time because said storefronts have never heard of content blacklisting.

But that aside, fantasy and sci-fi video games pulling from real life civilisations to inspire some of their fictional ones is not a new concept. It's been practiced for decades, for good or ill.

So firstly there's incredibly little of any of those in CoC2 and TiTs AND they come with content warnings.

And secondly this is a racism fetish you'd have to have to enjoy what I'm talking about.

Just what I wanted in my fetish porn game. Racism and nationalistic alienation. I feel like if there's any confusion about why the den/kiyoku is so widely disliked it might be that the best defense of it is "Racism and nationalism is realistic" especially when like, the main reason you're told you're Keros champion is to "Shake things up" by what...just lamely accepting this? It feels like he was just playing a trick on you to get your soul.

Sorry about the double post but it's also my big issue with Arona. I can't get "is a slaver" out of my head. Including these themes but never confronting them, making them set dressing feels like the simplest way to write them, feels like a disservice to them and I just can't get them out of my head when interacting with characters who have these traits.

Yeah, Arona can be a bit hard to stomach at times.

Often hard for me to forget the slave stockades that the tribe is perfectly willing to leave people in until winter rolls around and they freeze to death, all whilst being sexually assaulted up until the end(this is the champions fate in one of the bad ends by the way), and her problem with them is that they're not out there doing more marauding and slave-taking. I have to commend the champ, because the moment their leadership was destabilized I probably would of started taking heads.

You at least get a few scenes to people calling Arona out on how fucked her culture and belief system are, but they're few and never amount to much.

I'm a little bitter about it so I just wanna say. When I wanted kill the rabbit leader on Zheng Shi in Tits I was called a murder fetishist. I like Arona personally but it is fucked up a lot of what the orcs do.

Understandable, but from a historical & cultural viewpoint completely authentic.
Remember, the technological setting of the game and Savarrahs cultural stand is roughly in the bronze age drifting oh so slightly towards the early iron age. Pretty dark and brutal times, often a bit too much romanticized - there wasn't idle rainbows and sunshine all the time, far from it. And all races of Savarrah got their inherent inspiration from famous tribes and empires roughly around that time epoch.

Kitsune and their social viewpoint we already discussed enough. But culturally/technologically think early feudal Japan.
Orcs got their inspiration from vikings and norsemen. Notorious as the tribe with the most brutal raiders and slavers.
The Minotaurs of Khor'minos are clearly stand-ins for the roman empire in technology, culture and architectural prowess. Also they are in some parts described as believing themselves to be a bit superior as the other races - totally imperial roman bravado.
Same goes for the shattered remains of the Belharan Empire, perhaps with some greek influence in the mix as they proud themselves of their universities and educational facilities.
Lupines are a bit trickier. My guess is a mix of gallian and germanic culture with a bit anglo-saxon inbetween. Hearty, direct, kinda stoic and with a fair amount of quarrel and exchange with above stated tribes.
The Jassiran Catfolk clearly has an arabic and egyptian (north-african) theme.
Tychris and the 'manders I'm not aware as of yet, and kinda curious about. Maybe byzantine or persian, who knows.

So yes, slavery is despicable. It's brutal. It's unfair. And it sadly was absolutely normal at that time, in 4 of the 6 above named cultures. Especially so in the one represented by Arona. And it's a harsh dark world.

Edit: It's not pretty....but it's immersive. And yes, Arona is fucked up. That's why I always fuck her up and dom her even tho' I don't fuck with her. 3 of my chars at least.

I feel like if I'm just gonna keep responding to the same "It's realistic" post in the exact same way we can save a lot of time here.

Just assume whenever you want to say that Slavery, racism is realistic to just have with no opposition or point beyond set dressing that I respond with any of my responses already.

I don't care that some people think slavery and racism had periods of time in reality where no one opposed it (wrong) or that it's realistic for an entire race in modern times (Very wrong) Or that some people are okay with "It's realistic in our reality so therefore it's realistic in the sex universe"

While I don't think I'm as passionate about it, I do agree that we're playing a fantasy-based porn game, and that just because something is realistic to the real life historical age that inspires the setting of this game doesn't necessarily mean it should be included. After all, it's a fantasy, right? It doesn't have to follow along with the worst parts of our real life history and cultures, does it? At least that's how I feel about it.

At this point, the content's not likely going anywhere unless the project gets kicked off patreon. If you like it, you like it, it's fine and you don't have to defend it because it's "realistic." You aren't judging any of the many unrealistic parts of the game for their realism, are you? It's silly. Just say you like the thing. Even if people come at you for it, ignore 'em. It's fine that you like the slavery elements in this fictional setting, you're not hurting real people by it.

For those who don't like it, unfortunately as I said, it's not leaving anytime soon. I don't like it either, or any forced sex/rape for that matter, but none of that's going to be taken out. You may as well just accept that it's here, and try to make the most of your experience playing the game despite it. Try to push it out of mind if it helps, but you're only really hurting yourself by letting it get to you.

It's important for everyone to keep this in mind.

ya can't get drama out of stating things that you love and just bringing "your opinion is wrong, die" to an otherwise nice thread sounds shitty

realistic or not, if you're playing an human, came across humans enslaved by orcs, and are fckng their new leader, it still sounds plausible that you would wish those slaves released

but it's immersive
I mean, if we want to talk immersion, I could just go into full-on worldbuilder of 10+ years wank mode and start ranting about how none of these proxy cultures make an inkling of sense since they only embody their inspiration's most surface level, or just flat out fantasized aspects, all whilst not factoring in how this world's own divergent history and the unique physiology and psychologies of it's inhabiting sapient races would leave little reason for much of the parent-culture's quirks and customs to come into existence in the first place.

Meanwhile, a large majority of the inhabitants of the setting are actually rocking very modern mindsets typical to more developed countries, often dipped in a light coating of whatever exaggerated culture theirs is imitating when it's not just a pure standard fantasy affair. Immersion was shot in the gut and left bleeding on the curb.

But setting aside a minor dip into waters that run dangerously close to Humble Brag Shores, the pursuit of immersion in this case is a bit questionable anyway when it's in defense of there being an ending where the player is sodomized till they freeze to death. In a porn game, no less.

Ney, there was opposition. Quite often so. And they were all bloodily culled down because the ones being able to legalize rights didn't approve of them having any. And not even the truly noble Servile Wars of Spartacus changed anything in that regard, besides putting all of them on a cross and making life for the rest even more hell.

But humanity learned from that. One step at a time. Our culture changed because of that.
And that's exactly why such things should be thematized, remembered, and not kept mum about. Because by experiencing it that way, you learn far more how utterly inhuman it feels. Because everyone has an obligation to ensure such times never return. Neither slavery, nor racism, nor something far darker.

At least that's how we learn about that and thematize such things.
Sorry, but those kinda topics are handled quite serious where I'm from. My generation even has a native idiom, going "The fault is not ours anymore, but it's our damn responsibility to never again let it happen"

It's honestly not that bad. There's more to discuss about a companion that you might've liked if they were x or y, than a companion you like because of x or y. You probably know why you like a companion already and voted accordingly. Why this companion is your least favorite is a lot to unpack.
