As a pathetic incel with a terrible self-image as liable to spend the next 20+ years as alone as I did the last 20+ years, living vicariously through characters that doesn't look or act anything like myself is sort of my default go to point.. Which I guess is good in this case since I on some level can enjoy all of the content to some degree. (Well, at least when it catches my interest sufficiently and I don't end up skipping huge swaths of it because I'm floofed out...) But my self-depreciating point is, sometimes it's a bonus to be able to disassociate a little bit from yourself, especially in erotica.
Though I do get the feeling; I have a friend who can't play a game if he doesn't have an identifiable self-insert to the point that he plays himself in every RPG, and treats the single playthrough as what happened and could ever happen because that's how he did it, and I've been arguing with him about diversifying that for a decade without making progress, so I get it by now...
