Does toughness factor into attribute checks for scenes?
Yes, it does. I found 51 hits on toughnessRange in the code - though probably not all of them are in scenes.
Some examples:
Drifa sex scene -> At the end, you either become exhausted or listen to her and kiss her.
Thalia sex scene -> She tackles/hugs you - the air gets knocked out of you, or you manage to outmaneuver her.
Obviously, it all depends on the author - some will use it more, some less. I’d also point out that the majority of these checks - not just toughness - aren’t very noticeable unless you have a lot of characters or inspect the code directly.

Yeah. I mean, maybe it's just me, but for all of the fact that Gwyneth is the baby crazy caretaker of the majority of our kids makes me wonder why we haven't been able to marry her yet... I find her kinda hard to get a read on as to how much she even likes "us", as opposed to just being pregnant and getting belly rubs. Ironically, I find Garret to seem more actively affectionate. There's just something kinda closed off about Gwyneth.

... Mind, she does spend most days taking care of like several hundred babies mostly on her own, so can't exactly blame her. More just noting it. lol

Though on a related note, I do find it surprising Gwyneth and Kiyoko don't get some interactions with each other. I mean, Kiyoko might be all about the dick and not exactly sociable to non-kitsune, but the two of them in particular seem to have enough overlap of interest to cause either some friendly or competitive interactions.
well gwyn doesnt like YOU gwyn likes that when she closes her eyes you smell like her dad, and its the closest her biology and the town will allow her to get to sleeping with her dad

Garret

First my personal bias out of the way, I find him immature and undeserving of the champ. I dont find him lovable. I think of him as a cinderblock. He doesnt have a heart to give.

If his appeal is letting someone as pathetic as him dom, then.. I guess,

that being said, this is all from my perspective, my opinion. The hard dom content he has is debasement, and its done wrong, or very amateur. The appeal of debasement is it fulfills the subs need to provide an outlet for the doms desires to beat down on someone. Different from humiliation, focus of humility. I may have missed it but I didnt find any desire like that from him, and if i did, then there definitely isnt any payoff(of his desires). The champ has to ask for it -the champ debasing themself- their own desires, making the exchange one sided, as Garths desires arent truly explored, beyond simply getting his rocks off. Its as if hes apathetic to the neediness of the champ and only humors them, to get his rocks off. As if his content is rough because hes stereotyped as a big alpha tough guy and big alpha tough guys must fuck bitches. But bitches like big alpha tough guys because.. theyyy dont. they like the power and safety and security they [can] provide and are willing to put up with whatever, because they dont know their own worth(bitches). Garth provides none of that, the champ is the one who saves him, and he spends the rest of the game at his parents. and if all of that is the point, then he sucks.
Yeah, man I hear you on this one. I think this may be a symptom of the game being just shy of 10 years old and a lot of the older scenes not matching the quality or having the nuance of most of the newer ones because now the writers have a decade of experience under their belts. Doesn't excuse it or invalidate how you feel about it, though. Just a rationalization

I think that's intentional. He certainly isn't my cup of tea (because I am not into men), but he's never portrayed as being anything else. From the minute he's introduced to how Garth describes him, he's a cinderblock. A hunky, muscular beefcake of a lupine. I think maybe initially he had more growth planned (just guessing). He starts out, chafing under his father's control, not having his mother around because of the 'situation', and having to look out for Gwyn (all while having his fellow townspeople accuse him of fathering children with her).

You see him start to evolve in the West Bank, even if it is as Strongest Man in Savarra personality, and he matures a little in the fortress mission for River, and eventually decides he wants to head out and find his own work (hasn't happened, but it is a decision he makes). I think the plan was to actually have him evolve a bit more, but he's always been presented as the beat-your-chest, have sex with those interested type (I mean, he's not like coming onto customers or approaching Champ). If someone wants to have sex (or even a relationship), it's not like his personality isn't out there and obvious.

Although Im not fond of it, my problem isnt his personality, Ive had my share of this type. Theres always something to compensate for it. Feeling pretty being arm candy of a powerful man, the sex, the euphoric feeling of being daddys good girl, just listening to him and being a good girlfriend. But once the compensator is gone, so is my interest in the relationship. Garrets main compensatior is the prospective of the above listed, but fails on all fronts, in my opinion. Its been explained why. Its impossible enough to salvage something worth keeping with a cinderblock, but in a game, its up to the writers. I literally picture a cinderblock on the ground I have to fall onto for pleasure. Its just not giving
