Why don't more game makers create torrents for distribution?

Seriously, there are a ton of games on here I'd like to try but their general size of 500MB to 3Gigs, in some cases mean that I'm eating up a lot of bandwidth for the initial download, not to mention whenever they update the game, you usually have to redownload the whole ting.

Why don't game maker's create a torrent for their games? That way, whenever there's an update, the only thing that gets downloaded is the files that have changed, shaving as much as 99% of the download size whenver they issue a hotfix or something.

My only issue with a torrent for games, is that every Torrent site/downloader I find tries to give me virus's.

Anywho, why not just move games onto an external hard-drive?
I'm currently using up around 100+gigs of data on games for my External.
If that doesn't work, just make room on your PC maybe?
Unless you're a game hoarder like I am, It would be better to go buy a few thumbdrives for like 10$-20$.

There's also the fact that by necessity, torrents make the IP addresses of all peers widely visible. Not something particularly desirable when downloading a porn game, especially if it contains... non-mainstream content. It also means that if the developer is the one to start seeding, their IP also gets exposed, with all possible negative consequences (doxing, hacking, etc).

Not to mention that it's just a lot less of a hassle to just upload on a download server and not go through all the trouble of making a torrent you probably have to host yourself 24/7 just so people can reliably get the game. It isn't practical to use torrents for things that aren't mass downloads (a whole bunch of separate things all at once) or already very popular.

I got a 1TB thumb drive for about $30. Even for a game hoarder it'd take years to fill that up. By then you can probably get an even bigger thumb drive for the same cost.

Although it sounds like this is more about the size of the download and not a space issue. I know I was pretty surprised to find out there's a monthly limit to my internet use that I wasn't told about until I almost reached it. Unless I go crazy downloading things I don't get close most months, but it can lead to extra charges if I'm not careful. Especially with bigger games like Glassix.

Torrents are better suited for large files that tend to go over the bandwidth limit imposed by certain hosting companies, MEGA Free only gives you 5GB, after that you have to wait either 4 or 6 hours for it to reset.
Torrents can be fast but only if there's enough people sharing (seeders) in comparison to those who are still downloading it (peers), if there's only a few seeders and a bunch of peers then the speeds are going to be abysmal, equally if not worse than most free hosting services. Unfortunately most people who use torrents are selfish and tend to delete their files as soon as they've got what they wanted, or simply close their torrent applications and don't open them again until they need something again, which is basically the same. They are like leeches, they take but don't give.

But before a seed base grows the file must first come from someone and that someone is you, the uploader. Most people who upload/download torrents nowadays use a VPN to hide their IPs, because leaving your actual IP unmasked can pose a risk to yourself by revealing your location to hackers or even the authorities if your country is one of those fighting piracy. Speaking of which, torrents have a bad rep in that they are strongly associated with pirates - even if you're just using torrents to share something that is yours, people are still going to think it was stolen. In truth torrents are a mean of sharing media between people but over the years became the main method pirates use to conduct their deeds.

All in all, I like using torrents for larger files and JDownloader for smaller, browser downloads. The latter not only is free its also compatible with all sorts of hosting services (Google Drive, Mega, Opencloud, UpFile, etc). Both applications allow you to adjust their download speed, plus you can stop whenever you wish and it will continue where you left off without losing any data. JDownloader in particular is awesome because it goes over the speed cap imposed by free hosting services AND you don't have to click after X seconds to start it, it starts on its own and sometimes even decompresses the .rar files into a folder after finishing for you to use right away!

Again, if you're going to use .torrents (or any download website for that matter) its extremely important you know whether or not they're legit and trustworthy. Many websites have fake "Download" buttons that are traps, some ask for you to fill in a survey or your phone / personal info in order to unlock the download (again, fake) and others you have to click several times to get to the actual download (each time opening a bunch of misleading pop ups). Be careful out there, if it feels shady then don't use it.

Actual storage space isn't the issue for me, it's the speed of my internet. That's what prompted this topic.

I guess I can see the downsides of a Torrent File. Yeah, pornographic games are a niche category so the number of seeders may end up pretty low. On the other hand, some games I've had torrent files of have had steady seeding numbers (Roundscape Adorevia is a good example of this) that allows me to stay up to date without having to redownload the whole game every time there's an update. So, it'd be an interesting option.

I find it frustrating to try some of these titles because I have slow internet speeds. Like, 400Kbps slow internet. Takes an hour to download a one gigabyte game. So, I either have to wait a week or so after a game is released for hotfixes to be released such as Summertime Saga, or I'll have to download the whole game again for a minor fix.

I do like how GlassX does their downloads though. They add an update file version or a full download version. So, for example, it looks like this:

Download GlassX v3.1 Full - Link to download
Download GlassX v3.0 to v3.1 Hotfix - Link to download.

I'd just like to see a distribution method that helps those with not so good internet play your games.

Also, apologies if game name dropping is frowned upon. I checked the rules and didn't see anything regarding it.
