COC1 and 2, as well as TITS... These games all focus on a particular range of fetishes. I started on Slave Maker 3. I was horrified by futa content and used the in-game toggle to turn it off. But, COC was in the recommendations in the creator's blog, so I tried it. I was horrified at first. I kept playing. Now, I can't imagine playing a game without these elements. Long story short, if you're playing FenCo games then it should be with a mind open to new things. There are games out there that will cater to every fetish, but these are more of a sampler-- and should be appreciated as such.

I'm not sure what this has to do with the question at hand.

Obviously gays and bisexuals. But since, according to Kinsey, there are 5 percent each of absolute homosexuals and heterosexuals, everyone else falls into the gradation of bisexuality. That's why there are very few regular guys in games, but a lot of femme guys and big muscular guys. Simply put, the most secularized images. You just choose whether you want to dominate or whether you want to submit.
Personally, for me, male appearance is not exciting, so if I want dominant content, I choose something anthropomorphic. The exception is probably the orcs, but they are usually quite feral in appearance.

I feel like people are missing the point of this thread. I made it to try to figure out who the consumers of this game's male content are. I do not care what majority (straight men) wants.

I feel like the game is doing poor job at marketing to/pleasing the potential audience by ignoring the fact that guys, interested in men, exist.

That's why I decided to throw my hands into proverbial ring. I will try writing guys with further potential reach then what the game usually strives for.

Edit: And by the furthest reach, I mean anime guys. It worked for genshin -- I see no reason why it wouldn't here.

I don't think Genshin is a perfect example considering the part of the fanbase that consumes and produces the most amount of gay content is mostly comprised of fujoshis. But considering we don't have any fujoshis either I guess it doesn't really matter.

Lel, I get what you mean, but as we are now, we do not exactly know what the players that like guys want.

And anime guys do tend to be the safest choice when it comes to appeals to the widest audience from what I have noticed. You know the ones: somewhat toned, clean shaven, face with some chiseled parts (pronounced chin) or more leaning towards androgyny. Sure, not everyone that is into men is into them. But I have seen a lot more of a equal split of men and women (be they gay, straight or bi) attracted towards them than, let's say, for bara dudes (where most of the audience seems to be composed of gay men) or femboys (composed of bisexual leaning/expirementing guys).

Still, I do not want to come off as that I implying that no women can like guys that look like above, or that gays or bi guys that are into Bara/femboys are rigid. Everyone is unique in their likes or dislikes -- above are just observations I noticed personally.

So from my perspective, some guy in the vain of genshin/Nu Carnival in terms of looks (with maybe kimono characteristics as in animal ears and tails) is the safest bet. At least, with my limited knowledge.

Edit: Also if we can get fujoshis to come, we could easily triple the games earnings. Those girls, bless their souls, have supported most of my favorites works through thick and thin. Especially when their intended audience, usually straight men, left it to dry.

Popping in to say that I can list like 10 other girls that play this game and enjoy/want more male content in the game, me included. All varieties are welcome, from cboys to baras, twinks, twunks and femboys. I'm writing and submitting more male content as well, though I tend to be more on the shy side so I don't put it up for review on here and just let some friends of mine review my stuff before I submit it.

Also, there are enough fujos that play this game that on the game's discord, there's a 'fujo pit' running gag when a couple of us start talking male content at the same time.

Ah, so you are the ones to blame as to why most men here treat my guy with such "subtle" disgust. Good to know, good to know.

Obviously joking, I am not that far gone.

Oh, I welcome any guys -- this is a lie, the author considers any men not willing to put out as useful as screen window on a submarine, they are just trying to be polite-- so, by proxy, I welcome the. Though, if you don't mind me asking, what are you planning to submit?

Composed of mostly Uke players, let me guess... Heh... Although, if you speak about men in general, would it really be considered a fujo pit?

I don't understand any of the terms for, apparently, gay men used here in the last 3 posts.
I feel old and confused.

Which? If you are talking about fujoshi -- it just refers to girls that like to consume yaoi (drawn gay porn) and Bl (short for boys love, romance between two boys).

I've gotten approval to write some buttstuff for Quin, who is one of my top favorite NPCs in the game. I've also got a set of deerfolk twins that I'm writing - a dom girl who can be cisfem or a dgirl (player's choice), and a subby twunk that's very shy. I just submitted a wyvern tf that's waiting for review, as well as a small expansion for root of man that includes more diverse skin colors and new hair colors. I've got some other projects that I'm keeping hush hush just in case they don't get written, since work is tumultuous at best! Please look forward to these! :)

Actually, I'd say all the girls are a pretty even split between tops/bottoms and doms/subs. And that's sort of the gag; only a small bit if us are actual fujos, the others just like dudes but we all get sorta lumped together since masc love is on the smaller side in the discord.

It makes me super happy to see that there is a lot of want for male content, though! More than I thought, anyway.

Yes, I got permission from Savin! Bubble hasn't been in contact with any of the dev team in ~8 months, give or take a little bit, and he hasn't submitted anything for the game in over a year. He's kinda just MIA :(

Damn, so nothing new huh? That's a shame, to see them just gone. So I assume most of their stuff is just up for grabs now? Would anything be off limits? I remember Bubble talking about how Quin pitching content would be marriage locked but I suppose those things don't matter anymore if he's just gone.

...what? How? Like, wasn't Bubblelord adamant about Quin only willing to bottom once champ and him got married and as one time thing?

I am all for it, 100 percent, but I am kind of worried how Bubble would react knowing someone attached something to his companion. Especially something he seems to dislike.

Regardless, thank you for giving the Bun something a lot of people were claboring for. Despite my complaints, I enjoy Quin well enough and would feel pretty sad if he would loose his companion status.

Well talk about niche, but something very much up my ally. I am all for threesomes with differnt gendered twins. Especially those where the girl is dominant one. I am not sure if you played TiTS, but there is that exact scenario on the first planet where champion gets entangled with wasp brother and sister. The former doing everything that latter tells him. It was enjoyable.

Well good luck.

Oh, If it is anything like my friend group, I could have guessed as much.

Just popping into to say that, i feel like alot of the reason the game has such a seemingly low interest in male characters is because of it's optics.
And the best way to explain my point is, is this picture.
1780923363963.png

You effectively get, out of 21, 4 prominent male characters (with one being genderlocked, which i could complain about but i won't).
That alone will make male-attracted people rethink even engaging.

And then when you pair it with the fact that if you search for answers on the forum, like i did, you'll promptly find out that, that the dev team itself is comprised of mostly people who aren't interested in making content for male characters and if you want to get that content, you need to make/commission it.

So you wind up with a situation where you're functionally asking people to make/pay for content in a game that doesn't seem to care about or want to cater to them at all, and that any content they do make/pay is likely going to be overshadowed.

I myself am a writer/artist, i do have ideas for male characters and the capability, but i can't say i feel comfortable offering them up because of that.

I imagine if you asked the devs why this is and they were inclined to answer, they would say it doesn't make financial sense to dedicate extensive time and energy to growing 4% of the fanbase, when they can instead keep working on what brought the other 96% to the table. At least until such a time that CoC2 runs out of men on the internet who like sex with women.

And i think that's where my issue comes in, because it's the pattern you see in gacha games

Emphasis is placed on a certain kind of character and directly contributes to them gaining popularity while other types are neglected and as a result fade into obscurity, only for when people to ask for more for those obscure characters, they're told the fanbase isn't interested.

It's not that the fanbase isn't interested, it's just that they arent being given a chance to be interested

The "bad otome love interests," specifically Tetsuya and Elyon, were written for vocal segments of the fandom, yes.

Tetsuya was commissioned and written as a male extension for floof content, to allow players to be the 'Kiyoko'. So his primary tags are male-topping and heteronormative, procreative sex. As for his wider popularity, we don't have that level of market research, but his author seems to get plenty of requests for him and is planning a follow-up when he's done writing the Knot Cave (aka The Cave of Scope Creep) dungeon.

Elyon is also a commission for a community member who wanted a brooding and tortured rough love interest. I can't speak to his wider popularity, but he's very popular with the community member who commissioned him.

The key element here is that, as male content is not a featured aspect of this game, male content is usually only getting in if it appeals to the author, or enthusiastic members of the fandom make it happen. I enjoy male content from time to time (love you Brint) but if it were the only thing I were interested in I probably wouldn't be supporting the game.

I imagine if you asked the devs why this is and they were inclined to answer, they would say it doesn't make financial sense to dedicate extensive time and energy to growing 4% of the fanbase, when they can instead keep working on what brought the other 96% to the table. For my last post for now, i do wanna say thank you for informing me about Tetsuya and Elyon, since reading about them as made me interested in actually getting into game and seeking them out.

If all goes well, i might very well consider doing those character submissions~
