I don't think Genshin is a perfect example considering the part of the fanbase that consumes and produces the most amount of gay content is mostly comprised of fujoshis. But considering we don't have any fujoshis either I guess it doesn't really matter.
Lel, I get what you mean, but as we are now, we do not exactly know what the players that like guys want.
And anime guys do tend to be the safest choice when it comes to appeals to the widest audience from what I have noticed. You know the ones: somewhat toned, clean shaven, face with some chiseled parts (pronounced chin) or more leaning towards androgyny. Sure, not everyone that is into men is into them. But I have seen a lot more of a equal split of men and women (be they gay, straight or bi) attracted towards them than, let's say, for bara dudes (where most of the audience seems to be composed of gay men) or femboys (composed of bisexual leaning/expirementing guys).
Still, I do not want to come off as that I implying that no women can like guys that look like above, or that gays or bi guys that are into Bara/femboys are rigid. Everyone is unique in their likes or dislikes -- above are just observations I noticed personally.
So from my perspective, some guy in the vain of genshin/Nu Carnival in terms of looks (with maybe kimono characteristics as in animal ears and tails) is the safest bet. At least, with my limited knowledge.
Edit: Also if we can get fujoshis to come, we could easily triple the games earnings. Those girls, bless their souls, have supported most of my favorites works through thick and thin. Especially when their intended audience, usually straight men, left it to dry.
