I need silence. Actually I need the hum of my PC fans as complete silence bothers me in every situation, but yeah.

*imagines a bunch of noobie's Captain Steele's fans humming sweet tunes in his ears while he's playing*

Yeah, think I'll stick to oldschool porn sax, tvm.

Mostly trance usually. I just like something in the background that I can listen to while focusing on the text.

Just Lyric-less music, any tbh. Lyrics in regular music will distract me from my reading, leaves me to end up singing or dancing in my seat to the song instead of focusing on the game most of the time. So music without lyrics allows me to not get distracted by the singing, while at the time time there isn't any absolute silence in the background, for I hate silence when I'm reading/drawing/writing.

Dresden Dolls and Amanda Palmer's solo work. It has a special connection to fetish stuff for me. Won't go too deeply into that. But yep.

Silence. Just complete silence. I close my door, I shut my window, and I put my earphones in. You know that weird kinda high-pitched sound you hear when there's nearly no sound? Sure ya do, I like that. And the sound of my clicking/scrolling/heavy breathing.

Yeah, so, that actually a medically recognized condition called Tinnitus. It can actually be fixed too, so silence can actually be silent. I've had it since I was a child, and just recently found out that wasn't normal.

Yeah, I have that too lol, and for as long as I can remember. I only found out about it a couple years ago when I read William Shatner's biography (don't ask). For the longest time I thought it was electrical devices making some sort of background noise. As for music, it is really quite random. I have an eclectic taste, so what I listen to is always changing. Except for most rap music, and all country music. For some reason I can listen to Japanese pop and Finnish screamo, but country, ugh.

Part of the problem for me was that my parents had this really old TV that actually did actually make noise, so I assumed others would as well.

Exactly, exactly! Old TVs and some monitors did make a sort of high pitched noise when they were running, so I thought it was just a natural thing to hear all the time.
So as to not derail the thread any further, lol, what music do you like to listen to Lancer?

I actually like to listen to music as I do things, even porn, because of the aforementioned Tinnitus. I normally load up my Imagine Dragons station on Pandora for pleasure/relaxing time music, and the Piano guys station for instrumentals and classical music whenever I need to concentrate. That's really the end of my musical listening, lol. I am a very simple person :catte:
