Mighty interesting read, friend. I hadn't thought about most of the points you brought up.
If we could delve even deeper, I would say the games still allow for the very primal, standard heterosexual male fantasy. You are rich, famous, leader of a crew, physically imposing, doing dangerous shit by your own damn self against all kinds of foes, all the while able to fuck basically any woman and knock many of them up left and right.
And again, I am an optimist, so I could just be seeing my lawn greener than my neighbors, but I would say top content is notably more abundant than bottom content in the games.
Would you agree with these statements?
In the end, the grasp of the community I now have: drawn by the futa femdom and similar niche aspects there is a SIGNIFICANT part of the whole (players and backers), but still not the majority, as the content split would suggest to me, those are the usual presumed porn consumer brand of straight men. Still, drawn they are, and exist they do, they found a gold mine and want more, thus they enter in force in the commission department, resulting in a comfortable majority of 70 to 30 on that front.
Spot on? Or am I way off?

Pretty much. Heterosexual guy focus is still overwhelmingly popular - and almost all of TiTS' writers past and present are heterosexual guys - so that type of content is always going to be well represented. And we can see the essential playboy fantasy in the story Fen concocted.

It's just that because that audience is very well catered to more generally, they aren't possessed by the same urge to commission authors to get more of it. It's not unheard of by any means! The last random commission I took was to produce a bunch of male-top scenes for Bizzy. It's just not as common.

Am I the only one who thinks that the most recent character maybe took a little too much inspiration from Sly Cooper? Carmelita shares not just her name with Inspector Carmelita Fox, but also her hairstyle, necklace, and entire top half of her body really. I don't know anything about her personality, as I haven't played it, but I can say it's very distracting and I hope she isn't an officer as well.

Or how the "Dawnsword" from CoC2 is clearly a cutrate Lightsaber whose associated quest is full of Star Wars jokes?

It's pretty clear the writers don't look down on homaging or ripping off existing work to anyone who's been paying attention.

But Lorelei isn't a bat, and her name isn't rouge. The love stars aren't named bubbles, buttercup and blossom. I also know the Ruskaval (might be misspelled) are a reference to the Lombax of Ratchet & Clank, but they aren't named Lombaxes. Their designs have callbacks to to what they are referencing, but Carmelita is literally a pallet swap from the waist up. I don't mind obvious references, but copying the exact name of the inspiration and making the model look this close is just...a bit too far IMO.

Because I'm thinking about it, I'm going to offer my advice on how to fix this issue as easily and unobtrusively as possible. I am not asking for an overhaul, and I don't want people thinking that references are the issue. I think it's a simple 2 step fix.

1. Change the names. Carmelita can be Carmen if you really need to keep it close, and if the Coopers are referenced you can even just use "Sylvester, Benjamin, and Mickey." You could just not play it this close either, Lorelei sounds nothing like Rouge, but if you want to keep it close even a small change goes a long way.

2. Change the design a little more. It doesn't need to be drastic, but color swaps aren't quite enough. Maybe her ponytail is shorter, or maybe she has two instead of one. Her necklace was originally a reference to her occupation, so perhaps you swap the star with the peacekeeper logo. I get Carmelita wasn't a complex design to begin with, and making her a taur helps keep her from feeling like a carbon copy, but their are other subtle ways to make it less distracting.

Ja, I think it would be better if the turret was itself buffed or made customisable, i.e. you could swap its weapons to suit the enemy you were facing, kinda like the Engineer in TF2.

Maybe have the turret require Steele to aquire replacement parts to build another - e.g. Steele has to defeat N enemies to build a turret. Thus, the player can still spam turrets in a hard battle, but will then use up Steele's store of parts and won't be able to spam them again until a few battles have been won.

This is more of a pedantic nitpick about the world/lore than a complaint about the game itself, but why are Leithans compared to lizards so often? As far as I can tell, they have almost nothing in common with lizards besides being vaguely reptilian. They're a lot more similar to dinosaurs than to lizards: They have erect, digitigrade legs with 3 toes (plus a 4th smaller toe) each. Because of the comparison, I had a very different image in my head of what they actually look like for a while before I went and looked at art showing their lower body.

This was mainly because in early TiTS development, a lot of the interchangeable body parts were using the established CoC as a template. If memory serves right, when conceptualizing the new sci-fi races for TiTS, the humans, ausar and kaithrit had clear base counterparts in CoC (human, dog-boy/girl, cat-boy/girl, respectively). I think using CoC's lizan race was the next base used (mainly lizard parts), but there was a desire to make it more alien, so insect chitin and a tauric body-plan was mixed in.

As the game developed, with species names and descriptions becoming more defined, newer, more specific body part types were added (like leithan parts... and eventually a dinosaur type used for penis shape) and then the kui-tan and gryvain were added as starters. I think vanae was going to be a starter race at one point, but it was never followed through, probably for story reasons. And then after some time, suula was added as a starter.

Eventually, visual aid and limited access to the codex will be added to the beginning of character creation to help with clarity, especially for newer players, but for now it's still a work-in-progress.

A Short Pregnancy Mode for just the NPCs would be nice, since their pregnancies often last months and there's no other way to speed it up.

It would be nice if NPC pregnancies used Steele's Virility Speed Modifier, rather than completely ignoring it. Then using Fertite+ various other mods would speed up NPC pregnancies up to 5x or so.

I may come off as a broken record, but I don't like how some quests and interactions are gated behind needing to having sex with certain characters. Like the Ghost Deck quest is inaccessible unless you had sex with Anno. Same with unlocking Syri's, Erra's, Paige's, and Kiro's interactions. Even in the tutorial when you want to recruit Celise, you must have sex with her or else she'll be removed from the game. Again, sex should be a choice for the player, not a requirement. Why is it like this?

Why does the sex game have sex in it?

on a more serious note, imo if you are required to have sex to progress the tutorial, that should be an indicator for what the game is going to be like; sex is going to be required for some progression. again, in a sex game

Fertite+ does not increase male Speed Modifier. In fact, I don't know of any way to increase it.
Honestly, paternal bonus is currently only used for halving the absurd numbers of the maternity bonuses. Which could be done directly and be a lot more intuitive. (Incubator = 1.5x? 2000% = 10.5x?)

Even in the tutorial when you want to recruit Celise, you must have sex with her or else she'll be removed from the game.

If you skip the tutorial, you can recruit Celeise without having sex with her. And while sex is required for some NPC interactions, I don't think it's ever required for the main quest.
It's entirely reasonable to want to recruit Anno or befriend Syri (and abuse her bookclub) without fucking them first. Or if you like a character, but don't have any sexual attraction to them.
It would be nice if Anno's Test Drive->Petplay counted. Especially since she hates Tarkus, You'd think she'd jump at any chance, sex with Steele or not. It's not like she goes without if you never fuck her again after recruitment.

My latest gripe: Power Armor Weapons double the time to move between squares on the map, unless Steele is wearing Power Armor. This applies whether the weapon is equipped or in the inventory.
40+ Physique, Cybernetic Exoskeleton & Bigger Guns don't count. Hoverboard cancels it out.
Power Armor also slows Steele while in the Inventory, but not while worn. Cybernetic Exoskeleton does whether it's worn or not (this is probably a bug).
This is not documented anywhere I could find.

What I don't like is how some great characters are gated behind male only fking. Especially if they're crew (Ramis) otherwise give us a female only fkable recruitable npc.

Nah I mean I want to sex her as my futa Steele
A character has a firm sexual preference instead of being yet another being that will fuck anything and everyone and the writer sticks with it? Oh the horror. :U

If you're a Tech Specialist you can fix her cock milker. It skips her sex scenes.
1. That only works for Tech Specialists. There are 3 other classes.
2. You need at least 75% Int.
I've suggested letting Anno or Shekka be able to fix it if they're crew. IIRC, letting Tech Specialists skip was declared 'a mistake'.
