Varmints are really easy to get though.

Regular Tam Wolf you have to be the right class, plus win a big fight.

Yes, while equipping the leash used to tame it, the varmint will be used like a drone in combat. Its damage output is similar to the Damaged Tam Wolf, but part of the damage is kinetic and part is corrosive. As far as interactions, it can only be petted and it will possibly run away if not leashed while on the ship. Not sure what the future plans for it will be however.

Then the bigger question is, as a tech specialist do i get my attack drone back AND have my varmint for bonuses, or does it simply replace my attack drone without a non scaling buddy...

I think unfortunately it's the latter.

Sounds like a dayum shame. I guess the other classes will have the benefit of getting an attack drone that deals corrosive though, so that's a plus. But seems Techies are more or less driven to use TamWolf until something shiner comes their way. (Sexual fairy drone when?)

The leash will take up the accessory slot so it will have to be a strategic swap. Although, the damage should still scale like the Tam Wolf if I'm not mistaken.

Chronologically, the Varmint is a good early accessory to be used before getting the Tam Wolf, so it's damage output is reasonable.

Really dislike that the only current way to get it is to be a bimbo.

Hmmm... Varmints are level 6 foes. Tam is level 4 foe. Khorgan is level 5 foe. Early?

Ah true--I'm not sure how or if that should be re-balanced then. I figured it was early in terms of planet access, but the fights themselves are obviously not. The way it is set up now is how it was outlined in the document.

Are they? I thought they scaled up with level.

At least they were supposed to.

The tamed varmint does scale up with level. I think the scrutiny is on the damage output compared to the Tam Wolf or when it is obtained, but I don't really see anything wrong with how it is now,

Yeah I'll be honest, the damage output is my only pet peeve with the Varmint.

That and like I said, I really hope that the Varmint just doesn't get added in and then forgotten about in the future.
