There should be more ways for scaly characters to get pheromones/musk if we're going to race-lock them.

I know the cheat option exists, which is nice, but we shouldn't need to rely on that. (Especially because the update just wiped my pheromone perks, so now I have to go re-acquire them by savescumming transformations if I want the toggle to even do anything. Joy.)

I saw a lot of talk in Fen's dev posts about making the change to rebalance pheromones and teasing in combat, but frankly that's totally irrelevant to me, and I'd wager a lot of other people. For me, it's about two things: the roleplay, and the extra variations in sex scenes. It's not super frequent, but there are scenes that make note of your pheromone score, which is tracked in the codex, and change a few things depending on them. That's cool! That's fun! I don't even tease in combat, I unga bunga Rapid Fire everything to death.

The latest TiTS update just added TWO new races/morphs that get musk, and guess what? Foxes and horses, both furries. This is reptile erasure and I will NOT stand for it. LET ME PLAY A SMELLY LIZARD, DAMN YOU. LET ME LIVE MY DAXY LIFE. maxresdefault.jpg

  • Musk bonuses now apply at 1/2 rate for teases. Against blinded targets, the bonuses are applied at 1.5x rate.
  • “Shine” bonuses are now applied at full rate for teases. They provide 0 bonus against blinded targets. Current shine bonuses are gained from “Black Latex” skin perk, painted tits, painted cock, or being covered in fluids. A “Glossy Scales” perk is going to be added to several “scaley-type” transformations soon.
Pheromones are capped at 5. 50% = +2.5 vs non-Blind targets (which is most of them). 150% = 7.5 vs Blind.
Only Smugglers and Kineticists have access to Blind attacks natively. Will it be worth Blinding for the Pheromone bonus? I'm not sure.
'Shine' will apply against most opponents automatically.

Meanwhile, Feathers get nothing.

Birds also deserve love! But like I said in the post, I'm not really talking about combat effectiveness. "Blast shit with gun" remains undefeated.

Pheromone Cloud and Jungle Queen Scent/Snu-Snu Queen are not race-locked. Neither is the Musk Magnifier implant.
JQS can be lost, but only if Tone < 50.

Phermone Cloud is Male Treatment only, JQS is nice but 1 among many (and requires a lot of savescumming), and Musk Magnifier costing a whole implant slot is very steep. You can just be a horse, wolf, fox, rabbit or lion instead and get the same result without needing an implant slot.

Fenoxo clearly has a different fantasy in mind than you do. You want Pheromones to access certain parts of scenes, he wants different body types to be different in an interesting and roughly equivalent way instead of a homogonous everyone-gets-everything. Notably, Mare/Vixen Musk weren't added so furries have more Pheromone perks, but so feminine/submissive characters can have Pheromones. All the others were masculine/dominant coded.

I will agree that changing things so late does leave the proposed Shiny Scales without any scene support, which is unfortunate.

After having looked through the code:
1. Alpha Scent does require a high Lupine score.
2. Musky Pheromones only requires Fur and a Penis.
3. Vixen Musk has a few condition sets for keeping, but one of them is just 'Vulpine Vagina', no need for Fur or any other Vulpine parts.
4. Same with Mare Musk.

Also, you can Save-Edit in the Perks. Just make sure to toggle the Cheat first.
Actually, when I load a save that has invalid Perks, they aren't removed until I move a square or otherwise pass time.
In a test, it is possible to load the save, then go into the Cheat Menu to enable the Cheat before losing any Perks.

On the upside, you can get Icy Veins from Frostwyrm Ichor now, so it's not exclusive to fur-bearers anymore.

That's the problem though — they're not interesting or even remotely equivalent, imo. The combat mechanics are already lackluster enough, but in terms of scene support it isn't even a matter of it being added later. Scent, pheromones and musk are huge parts of sex appeal baked into our brains. Shiny scales aren't. They're insignificant in comparison. Flavor-wise you're trading something interesting for something boring.

What you are describing is not universal. Point of fact, I hate the musk perks and anytime that's brought up it's a turn off for me.

It may be baked into your brain, but that is not true of everyone.

I think this is a bit of a disingenuous statement. There's a reason that so many scenes talk about the smell of sweat and whatnot, I'm not just talking about personal preference here.

No I agree with Jarylan, the scenes talking about the smell of sweat are turnoffs for me as well. Just not into it at all

All versions of The Treatment also should have access to some kind of pheromone perk.

Weird that they don't.
