"Vena and romance? Really? Gotta admit I didn't see that coming..." He mutters, scratching his head as Vena nods. "A bit of romance, Olivia. Small things like this. I don't wanna be around for the corny crap that he spews." She says, laughing.

"Okay..." He murmurs, cracking a smile as he goes to look for a vase to put them in.

"Alex being romantic. Also, I've been going through his brain- don't tell him I did!- and I actually did find other examples of him trying to give you a little romance. Remember your first dance on the ship?" She asks.
"Yeah, so my point is, he has done romantic stuff. He just doesn't remember. But anyway, he's the one who should be keeping it up. Boyfriend and all that. What about you, though? I'm not seeing much romance from your side." She says with a chuckle.

"I'm not much of a romantic mind... at least not what people think when they imagine romance. Hey, we got any vases in here? Anway, If you do dig around you will see me doing my damndest to try and provide for my harem and children, even going into debt by taking advanced pay to fund that house on Hamina."
"There's a vase over here. It's empty." Cynthia says, using a tentacle to point to a vase sitting on the counter. A very nice one, red at the bottom, and gradually lightening to white at the wavy neck.

"Ah thank you" she says while filling it up at the sink and putting the flowers in "I agree, there is no further debt to be held, but the fact remains that I put myself into debt just for the betterment of my lovers and children... while Alex has done nothing of the sort. Sure it isn't sappy romance, but it sure as heck shows that I care."
"Well, that's because you're not asking him to. You should know this by now. He's one of those kinds of guys that you have to ask. Meaning, you ask him to do something, and he'll go to the ends of the galaxy to do it." Cynthia says. "You know how dumb some men are."
"Hmm... You're right... I wonder if maybe... Just maybe... He's still a little insecure about his feelings for you? Like... Maybe he's confused whether he loves you, or lusts for you?" She asks.
"Nah, that doesn't count. Crushes and actually being in a relationship are two completely different things. Brain chemistry proves it!" Cynthia says, before sighing. "Okay... My thought is... This is a phase he's going through. Due to inexperience, he's trying out different things to see what works.
"Olivia... The guy is mentally unbalanced. 90% of the time, he has to think three times before he makes a decision to make sure it's not based on emotion. Not to mention his brain kinda got fried at one point, and he lost all memories of you."
"Obviously not, you idiot. What the hell is wrong with you!?" Cynthia groans, smacking the back of her head with a tentacle. "You completely missed the point of what I was trying to say! I'm saying you should help him through this. Show him what to do, and he'll keep doing it!" She grumbles.
