The Syren Conspiracy (For Floozer)

[Floozer]

She looks at her and shakes her head with a smile, putting her own rifle down and moving over to her. "First off, your grip is all wrong. Put your off hand on the bottom of the barrel, it just has to hold it up. Your main hand should be holding the grip... don't put your finger on the trigger unless you are going to fire, other wise rest it on the trigger guard like this." She positions Melina's hands properly. "There, now brace the butt of the gun against your shoulder, this is how you will deal with the kick back alright?"

 

[Archangel99]

Melina nods and lets Olivia move her body accordingly. "Okay... Now I just point and shoot?" She asks, with a slightly raised eyebrow.

 

[Floozer]

"Almost. You need to learn how to load it. These ones are standard issue clip magazines so it isn't hard." She guides her hand up to the lever "Pulls this back to release the current stored round and get the hammer out of the way. Now grab the magazine by the bottom and tug. See? It pops right out. Take the new one and push it in till it clicks. Now grab the lever and give it a good shove forward so it clicks back into place... then pull it down so it is locked. Last step, flick this switch to release the safety, and now you are holding a loaded gun ready to fire."

She helps her aim down at the dummy. "Look down the scope. At this range the bullet will hit where the cross hair is. When you are going to fire, hold your breath as you pull the tigger so you have less sway. Go ahead, aim and fire when you are ready." She takes a few steps back to let her try on her own.

Melina nods before holding her breath and after a few seconds, squeezing the trigger. The shot flies downrange, and immediately blows off the dummy's head.
"Whoa. Sniper rifles are awesome." She says with wide eyes.

 

[Floozer]

She chuckles and claps her hands "Good shot! Snipers have a lot of power and range, but they must have that range to be useful. That thing is nothing but weight if someone gets close to you. you can try to blind fire it, but you are likely to miss. So always bring a side arm."

 

[Archangel99]

"What kinda side arm would you recommend? Pistol? SMG?" She asks, blinking.

 

[Floozer]

"You can't go wrong with a pistol. There is tons of variety and all of them work up close. an SMG is better for spray and pray, but that chews through ammo very quickly. I would recommend a semi-auto pistol. Fires as fast as you can pull the trigger so you can spam if you need to... or pace your shots like a smart person. Though if you want and smg... I would take a burst fire model, preserves ammo."

 

[Archangel99]

"Hmm... I think I'll pick a pistol. Short range, and accurate too. SMG is inaccurate and doesn't do much damage.

 

[Floozer]

"A wise choice! but you are not done yet. Do you want power or flexibility?" She goes and grabs two pistols. One is larger with a thick barrel while the other has a shorter barrel but is obviously lighter. "the .44 or the .38? They might sound close but they vary completely. The .44 will need both hands to shoot unless you want to break your wrist while the .38 can be used 1 handed with some draw backs."

 

[Archangel99]

"Oh? What kinda drawbacks?" She asks, tilting her head.

 

[Floozer]

"Less accuracy, more strain on your wrist and it is easier to be disarmed as your grip is not as tight."

 

[Archangel99]

"Well... I got this." She says with a chuckle, her tentacle hair rising into the air and wiggling a bit before falling back. "I think I'll take the .38," she says before taking the gun from her. "Loaded or not?"

 

[Floozer]

"Not loaded" She says, holding up the clip from her pocket "Pistols are much easier to use but only good for medium to close range." She takes the .38 back "Safety is here. To reload pull the hammer back which is actually the entire top, then push this button to eject the magazine. Same as the rifle, push it up till it clicks then pull the hammer a bit to let it slide forward. Boom, loaded and ready" She steps up to the range and turns off the safety. "Make sure you use the middle of the tip of your pointer finger or your aim will be off a bit. Use both hands if you can and aim down the barrel." She fires off three shots, eachone hitting the dummy in the chest. "Aim center mass, you won't have time for head shots if they are going to clobber you." She puts the safety back on and hands it to her.

 

[Archangel99]

"Alright..." Melina takes out the magazine before loading it once more and turning off the safety, before firing three shots downrange. It seems only one hits the dummy's chest, however....

 

[Floozer]

"Hmm, A bit harder to aim quickly huh? Well, practice makes perfect as I am sure you have been told. Just keep at it and you will be fine."

 

[Archangel99]

"Huh? What are you talking about? They all hit! Take a closer look!" She says with a grin, pointing at the dummy. It is then that Olivia notices that all three shots have been fired in a perfectly straight line with unnerving accuracy to slam into the hole left behind by the previous bullet.

 

[Floozer]

She lets out an impressed whistle "Damn girl... you have some scary accuracy with that thing. You ever had weapons training before?"

 

[Archangel99]

"Hmmm... Nope." She says, shaking her head.

 

[Floozer]

"Well then you will make one hell of a sniper then! If you haven't already, you should sign up for base defense. Safer than a field squad and you get a fortified position to take shots at from afar."

 

[Archangel99]

"Someone has to find us for there to be any sort of defense. Plus we have nukes and shit. We can blow the bastards out of orbit before they get too close." She says with a confident grin.

 

[Floozer]

"That is our plan... but they would also have a plan. Then it comes down to making new plans to counter plans of plans. It is all really just a big cluster fuck. Any way, there are plenty of squads active if you want to go out. Just gotta clear it with Brynn and off ya go."

 

[Archangel99]

"Meeeh... She wouldn't let me out. I asked her before. Apparently I'm too young." She says, rolling her eyes.

 

[Floozer]

"Well... you are freshly matured... maybe she is hoping for something calmer for you to do? Take it from me, just because you are good doesn't mean shit. I thought I had all these tricks up my sleeve but I wind up on the shit side of the stick more than I don't."

 

[Archangel99]

"Really? How's that figure?" She asks with a raise eyebrow.

 

[Floozer]

"Well, I am a good shot with a rifle as those headless dummies confirm, but every time we are out it seems like I just fuck it up. Then I had a stealth unit but that didn't do me any favors either. Then you have to imagine all the gear they have which seems to always counter what I can do. It sometimes feels like if I don't have some overwhelming unstoppable force, it will be swatted aside... but that cold just be negativity."

 

[Archangel99]

"Mm. Negativity alright. They're a highly advanced group with crazy-ass tech, and we've managed to hold out this long. That alone is a good sign!"

 

[Floozer]

"Fair enough." She picks up her rifle and starts taking shots again "I just need my mind to stop playing with me."

 

[Archangel99]

"Hmm? What do you mean?" Melina asks, stepping up next to her and leaning against the tabletop, facing her.

 

[Floozer]

"Fucked up dreams, negativity... shit like that." She reloads and keeps shooting "It all seems so real... that is the worst part."

 

[Archangel99]

"I... Don't have any advice to offer there... Uh... Maybe try praying before you sleep? I heard it helps." She says, shrugging.
