Alex just holds her tightly, rocking back and forth as he buries his face in her neck. Then, she feels herself being lifted and carried in his arms, her face pressed to his chest. There is movement as he picks up Wren and the creature as well, before starting to walk back to the base. She can still feel him shaking as he walks. In about an hour, they're back at the mountain, and Alex heads straight for the top, careful not to drop any one of them, lest they fall to their deaths off the side of the cliff. Then, movement as he presses the button for the elevator, and even once they're in, he doesn't let them go, carrying their weights all the way to her room. He dumps the creature unceremoniously on the floor of her bedroom, and gently lays Wren and Olivia down on the empty bed before getting on his knees at her side, holding her hand, his face pressed to her hand.
