Carnality first and foremost during sex, I find at least in writing that romance is best left until after (preferably post knotting).
Dom and sub stuff depends on the character. I will say that switches seem far harder to write than they are worth. It often tends to feels like the character ends up being two different people pushed into one rather than someone who's into both.
Always need more ball worship whether of the top or bottom, preferably of the pc but I'm not too picky. Also height play isn't used enough in game despite every other character being a 7ft behemoth or a 5ft smidgen.

Not sure it needs to be different from female companions tbh. I will say that there isn't nearly enough netflix and chill in game. Or bar crawls where you can choose to call it off halfway through so you're still capable of sex or keep going and get utterly ruined.

Also, since it's pretty clear you're using this thread for motivation and inspiration, please write some scenes that change slightly the more they are repeated. I can't think of any that have done apart from Arian from CoC and they were great imo.

I don't really care about the sub/dom spectrum that much. I want the Steele and the character to have equal fun (and have fun as equals).

The whole formal dressing up and going out to dinner and a movie thing is usually to provide a neutral ground for the two individuals to get to know each other better and plan the second date.

I also take people out on formal dates to show my baby off because i'm that type of dude.

The same can't be said about the new additions to the galactic fold brought on by the rush. The Korgonne, in particular, have gender roles. These roles don't have a social stigma when they're broken (if breaking Lund is any indication) but they're there. Same with the Zil tbh except sexual dominance is a tribal thing you earn so ig sexual roles aren't as stringent then either.

Yeah, I feel you get me now. -Just- ungating like DA2 is awful, especially when everyone is down for absolutely anything because you can so very much tell that it was written generically. Gates are fine, I say, but they have to be sensible gates and definitely not just a crutch so someone doesn't have to write any m/m content.

Now the other thing: what I mean is TiTS is full of idiosyncratic dynamics, being full of aliens and all (plus looser ideas of what makes someone this or that in general), that it would feel a little weird if, say, Dane was put in and he acts just like a bear and even uses words like that. While it might get someone going to hear the terms and see the behavior you still might think "why is an alien taking his cues from another planets' thousands-of-years-out-of-date culture?". Even New Texas, which is a planet full of people living out stereotypes from current-day straight porn, still isn't lifting it. It's adapted to be a place that makes sense more or less.

That's exactly why it would be a bit dissonant to lean too heavily on the gay aesthetic for the flavoring of male characters, especially those who're designed with m/m in mind. While it's a popular aesthetic for it homo content isn't necessary gay content - that is to say it's not necessarily going to hit all the things a person who's v. much into the aesthetic wants to see, and it could well include male characters that have a looser masculine feel than they'd like the same way some still freak out about all the girldick.

Varies on the character and the character's personality. I don't really think we've really had a full on male "romance" so I think Carnality is more prominent, but if we had a romantic undertone with someone, I'd lean that way.
I mean ideally, you'd have both.

• How would you want the varying levels of domination vs submission, be specific and represent/communicate your kink as best you can.

I'd honestly prefer switch over all else. I like being able to decide before/in the moment how things are gonna go down, because once in a while you just have those guys who are... really dommy to start and you're exhausted ahead of time, and you're wondering "was all that prep really worth it if he turns out to be a douche?"
I think keeping it switch allows for a healthy way for your characters to mix it up, and can allow people to try something new on a whim.

• Which body parts, niche and/or vanilla, would you want your male follower to focus on?

I can't speak for anyone else, but I would love Dane worshipping Steele's ass when he's in a rut. Ciaran could also work for this, but those description of Dane's tongue in his fight scene makes me want my Steele to ride his face until he's come and pliant and ready to take Dane's cock.

Well, I'm weak for Vahn, but honestly I think dates should variations regardless of characters.

For Vahn, since he's a mechanic, I think you could take him to a tech show/museum since he's really into Hovercars, and it'd be something nice to do for him.
I think he might invite you to play Graviball with him sometime when you're on Tarkus together and to meet his other friends/the crew and have a fun night that way.

For Dane, i think you guys could hit up different bars in different worlds, and you can even have meet up interactions with different characters depending if they are there. Go have a good time, a couple of drinks, and you have some fun drunk fun, maybe in public, maybe back on the ship.

I've said this over and over again since I started working for Fen: Almost nothing has ever come out of you going to the public and asking what they want you to write. Sit down and write what you want from a male companion, and it might actually get done. Or fund the thing if you can't do it yourself, TiTS has plenty of commissionable writers. If you just sit in here filling forum page after page of discussion about the exact kind of dude you want to bang and how they might please everyone, I guarantee it'll never happen, and any project you attempt to put together will crush itself under the weight of its own expectation.

Somebody brought up Ramis as a good example of gating earlier on in this thread. That was nice to read, but you know how Ramis came into being and was ultimately expanded into a full companion? I wanted to write a big amazon who bullied traps, because that made my dick hard. That's it. Everything that went into it was largely a means towards that goal. Any other NPCs you like have a similar origin story.

If you can write, sit down and start writing what gets you going. If you can't, go to somebody who can and pay them to do it. It's that simple.
