Yes, I mean Paralyzing Shock. It's superior to the stun chance of the gauntlets because it's reliable (which is way more important than people may expect), lasts multiple turns, and the damage you lose by wasting a turn is made up for by the superior stats of the Dancing Flashblade and midigated even further if you take the Deadly Shock perk. As we already discussed, Drone Builds are inferior to raw shield builds for Tech Specialists if we're looking at things objectively due to how useless drones are against high level enemies regardless of their upgrades (aside from Siegwulfe, who has the ability to tease targets, but let's be real, if you're doing a tease build, nothing matters because tease is just an instant win button against everything but some very specific enemies), but I do see the appeal in having a drone, so I decided not to mention it.By stun ability, do you mean Paralyzing Shock? If so, you're using a turn and Energy to use it, where a Stun chance on the weapon itself lets you attack each turn. While you could take Deadly Shock at level 9 to have it also do (a respectable amount of) damage, if you've already decided on a Drone build, you're probably taking Drone Control instead. Custom Shock Gear also has the Crushing flag, which is interesting (not that relevant at the moment, but potentially useful later), 3 evade and 10 fortification (bonus HP).
Also, the fact that it uses energy is basically a non-factor. Aside from charging your weapon, you'll almost never need to use your energy at all unless you're fighting hoards of enemies and want to casually toss some grenades at them to spread out the damage or you're in a melee fight and want to charge your shield.
