Given TiTS' intro mentions a mechanic named Zeke in Tavros's hangar, it's a pretty easy mistake to make.

I think you meet him early in the prologue when you get you ship. I think he says something about knowing your dad and how the two of them used to drink together or something like that

If I'm not mistaken, Zeke is Kaede's father and has/had connections to both Steele Sr. and the Black Void Pirates (Amara).


Initially, JimT wrote scenes directly for Zeke, but since it was probably out of character, being that Zeke is human and was created by Savin, he was then converted over to an ausar and renamed to Vahn.

Kaede does have an apartment on Tavros, so it probably would be on the ResDeck. As mentioned, however, she's a space trucker so she mostly lives on Talon Rogue -- she wouldn't be around very much to make her a static encounter there, even if I wanted to (and I don't). 


I can't remember if Anno actually rents a room somewhere on Tavros or if she just crashes on Kaede's couch bed. I think it's the latter. She probably has a key either way.


Kaede definitely does not live with her dad. She gets up to entirely too much lewdness for that. Reminds me, though, she probably knows Vahn... I should write a threesome for them or something some time.
