The big spoiler has kinda soured me on all the gods, but if there is ever an option to go full Kratos and start putting the pantheon in boxes, best believe Keros will be catching these hands for stealing my family from me. The others have never really done anything directly to me the way that tailed bastard has.
Most likely never going to happen. No JRPG/Level 20 DND campaign power fantasies. Sorry to necro a necro but I want rant about the gods in this game. Spoilers and 5-6 hours of thoughts edited down into a 1000 word schizo rant.

I do really like convocation, it's really well written, but I honestly wish I never did the best ending. You really can't unlearn it, even as a player. That warning was for you as much as your champ. I doubt it will ever end up being used by the player unless there was some super evil Kas ending, you would be betraying Savarra if you even could use the information you get. It was simultaneously the best and worst thing about this game for me at least. It was the point where a porn game made me think more than pretty much any AAA game I’ve played in years. It was also the point where I couldn't see this as a simple horny dnd inspired rpg jaunt. I can't think of a single erotic game with high quality ero content, then a conversation that makes you ponder fictional geo-politics and religion. My thoughts instantly go to the people that caused the gods to become what they are, particularly the people they ate. A question we will likely never get a straight answer to, but, it does give me a couple ideas how they went from eldritch monster from beyond the pale to a facsimile of "living" gods.

Theory 1 on how a wraith turned into gods is quite simple. XP. They consumed enough people to achieve some form of emotional intelligence and were able to help/manipulate mortals into preventing other Wraiths from achieving the same thing. What lends credence to this existing and maybe combined with one of the other theories is Lumia’s bit of dialogue talking about how she got stronger after fighting more and more wraiths. But again, could be a throw away line, could be related to something else.

Theory 2 is similar to the first, evolution maybe? Idk a good name for it. The form they are in now has emotions, whether they are genuine or actually affect them is debatable. I think they had access to them, but when they took form they were essentially really intelligent, emotionally stunted children with super powers. That’s why I think Lumia really does regret fucking over the Pale elves as much as she did. She had maybe a loose concept of what she was doing at the time, and it probably seemed the best option at the time with the knowledge she had on hand, emotional or otherwise.

The 3rd and final theory is on shaky ground, the “Golden Soul” theory. Keros calls your soul a "fascinating natural phenomenon.” What aspect of the soul other than maybe the color and size would separate it from your run of the mill soul, and whether or not your soul's case of the phenomenon is natural or not, I don’t know. Could always be Kas’ machinations. But assuming that Philander and/or Phyria had a golden soul, along with the mother and daughter Lumia ate, caused them to take on some aspect of those people. I don’t find it a coincidence that the goddess of fertility became so after eating a mother and her daughter, whether or not Lumia was being worshiped or not. Nareva became a god of magic after eating someone who’s passion was magic. It could be another coincidence or clever writing, but after they suddenly became aware and very strong, realizing that their power aligns with what most mortals would consider godhood, the only way to fit in is to pretend to be a god. Pick the most prominent god near you, boom.

I personally think they are neat, but I don’t see if the player really gets anything with knowledge of the true nature of the gods other than maybe intrigue and getting to know the gods better. Most of them seem like they would actively hinder the player for having this knowledge, and them regularly reinforcing that they will fuck you over if you try to say anything makes me not care much for them, it’s unneeded threats that only makes me fear the end of this game. I honestly hope the devs play this god/wraith shit close to the chest or not at all. I don’t get what they are playing at by giving you the option to discover the gods are/were actually the big bad before the current big bad unless it links to the overarching redemption plot or something. Honestly other than just giving you another perspective on the gods, I hope they do nothing with it. I am for the no power fantasy stance when it comes to killing gods, willy-nilly killing, and effortless fulfillment. I know it’s probably gonna be a few years at least before this game is done, but I hope player enjoyment is prioritized with the endings. My primary reason for worrying about this is that Mallach made it pretty clear that if you do portal fuckery, 2 of the gods aren’t gonna be happy if you save Callah. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be smited doing the thing that is kinda the whole catalyst for this whole adventure even happening, even if that conversation was just a setup for Kas to help Cait. I understand that you have to put in effort for the happiest endings, but only 1 true good end I feel is going to result in players going for the same ending just so all their waifus aren’t kill and their blob doesn’t get vaporized. Regardless, I have put at around 60-70$ so far into this game because I have hope that they can deliver a good game. I don’t want a power fantasy, I just want a game I've invested time into playing and money in to turn out good, and I assume the devs do too.

Again sorry for the rambles, but the gods envelop all my fears in regards to this game, so it got a bit off topic. I would actually prefer the champ being an accessory that allows your companions to become MC’s if you will. I hope the writers don’t make the best end sad or overly bittersweet even if you do your best to do everything right. Most of the game doesn’t have that crushing sadness of inevitability, it’s hope that everything will be ok.
