"Hmm... You need something to eat, don't you? Come on. Let's go." He says, gently rolling Roro off onto the ground and getting to his feet." Let's go hunt, boy. Come on." He says, walking off towards the forest.
He looks down at the ground when he reaches the forest, trying to spot some tracks. "Hey Rex... You smell or see anything... Let me know." He murmurs softly, continuing to look for tracks.
Rex is all but crawling as he comes to a stop. Just ahead of them is a big fat bird that looks like a turkey and a pig mixed together. Despite its pudge Kai can tell it can fly by its huge wings.
He reaches for his spear, before grimacing when he remembers it's been bent. It was basically useless at this point. But technically... It was still a weapon.
He starts circling around the bird, patting Rex's head to make him stay in one spot. He circles till he's directly opposite Rex, before he leaps up and throws the spear at the bird, hoping Rex would attack as well.
The bird makes a sound between a gobble and a snort as it leaps into the air to dodge Kai, only to be brought back down by Rex catching itsneck in his jaws.
The two headed hound tears into its food happily, tail leg wagging as he goes. By the time he starts to slow down about half that bird creature is already gone. The area around them is a thinly forested zone, trees scattered about with shrugs and bushes to match across the floor.
"No, he didn't. There wasn't much left to go around after feeding everyone." He murmurs, continuing to carve up the turkey thing. A small part in the back of his mind reminded him that this thing used to be human, but... Frankly... He just didn't care right now. Food was food.
[Oh.... Kay, then. You didn't say the mutation affected animals too.]
"Yeah. That's another problem. No water." He mutters, his throat suddenly feeling a little dry at the realisation. "Problem is, I didn't see any sources of water on the way in, so... We're kinds screwed on that front."
"Yeah... I hope so, mate. I hope so..." He murmurs, finishing up the carving and walking over to the fire to start cooking them. "I hope they get back safely. All of them." He murmurs, sighing.
Kai notices his head is... more silent than usual, like someone is purposefully not saying something. "I'm sure they are all fine and just trying to find everything they can to bring back!"
