To start with, I should say that I've been playing this game for over years now but mostly as a femboy and only had a few female characters to see the differences or to unlock new scenes. That being said, I started up a fresh adventure with a main female character and started to really explore all of the nooks and crannies that came with that.
I ended up getting impregnated by one of my crew members and decided to speed up the pregnancy at Tarvos Nursery, as I normally did to get on with my adventure, in-game this took over 270 days. But, it wasn't until I looked on the wiki and noticed that there are a few cute scenes that can trigger with the crew member at different stages on your pregnancy; Rubbing the belly/feeling the child kick, remarks on your swelling belly and similar stuff, or even new sex scenes.
All scenes that I had missed out on, and after a bit of digging I found similar scenes for other characters and similarly long pregnancy times.
Granted, this is realistic and there are items that can help speed up this process significantly, by as much as 1000%, but, these items have drawbacks. For instance, Laquine Ears a transformative item and can interfere with how you prefer a character to look, and Motherhusk gives taint which can negatively impact your combat ability.
While these downsides can be mitigated, or otherwise ignored, the question remains; Should Pregnancies be this long to begin with? Again, it's realistic but the sheer amount of time isn't convenient to an ordinary playthrough in which most players can complete virtually every single unique encounter in the game within a month of in-game time.
Would an in-game time of, say, two months max be more favorable?
