Can someone explain to me how saves are stored? Had computer issues and I'm now operating off a new drive, trying to recover stuff, and I'm hoping not to lose the several hours of progress since my last "save to file"

They're stored in a big blob of data in the coc2electron folder that the game creates in your User/AppData/Roaming folder rather than in individual files like the ones created via Save to File. Copy the entire folder over to your new drive (same location obviously) and you should get everything back when you start the game up again.
