Power Surge VS Deflector Regen

So I have been trying to figure out which one I want to use from testing and looking at the code I can see that Power Surge regens 33 energy in 1 turn and Deflector Regeneration is 40 over 4 turns. On top of that with maxed out intelligence Deflector Regeneration seems to give about 47 shields per turn when wearing the reaper shield and Premium Armstrong Suit while Power Surge give about 144.

So from this Deflector Regeneration give more energy and more shields over 4 rounds yes, but is still better except for 1 thing. If you have full shields Deflector Regeneration will not trigger but will still count that turn meaning you will get no energy on that turn. This to me makes Power Surge the obvious choice as I will always get 33 energy and even if it caps my shield it doesn't matter.

This is really annoying as to me Deflector Regeneration sounds like it should be used when you have taken some damage but not a lot and want to top off your shields or you know you a large attack is coming and you want to allow your shields to regen better after. While Power Surge sounds like it should be a panic I need my shields back button. Yet they work nearly the exact opposite to get the full effect of Deflector Regeneration you need to wait for low shields when you are most vulnerable while Power Surge can be used whenever you need more energy or shields.

TL : DR Power surge is better because it is consistent.

I just use power surge for the energy because usually at that point I'm spamming overcharge or something hard.

I don't find myself using these abilities for defense anymore, but for Energy regeneration; my shields are just too tough, but if I use my Gravidic Disruptor against an enemy 2-3 times for instance, Power Surge is extremely effective. And to be honest, if my shields are close to dead, the big boost is better. At first I figured it'd be more tactical to use Deflector Regeneration, but that's not the case.

I personally don't really care for energy regeneration much cus most shit dies before or just as I run out. I just end up drinking my own milk to top myself up once combat ends.

I don't do that thing, so right before I defeat something, if I used any Energy, I go ahead and use Power Surge to top off.

I picked Deflector Regeneration.

Kinda wished I took Power Surge, but I still stand by my choice. The biggest pain in the neck is that if you're shields are already at 100%, you get no energy gain for turn.

You know sometime I feel that people only read the title but that said it is nice to know most seem to choose/want Power Surge.
