Flirt with Shade and go have sex with her if you want, or don't.

That'll allow you to be her lover or drinking buddy, and you'll still be able to interact with Kara later.

Until Shade shows back up on KaraQuest 2 and kicks you in your traitorous balls.

Psh! I've defeated Doctor Lash, Shade ain't got nothing on me!

Besides, I kind of want to see what she'll say if she knows you two are related by the time KaraQuest 2 happens.

Its not about the HP, its about the feels.

...shes a bounty hunter, cant I just pay her credits equal to Karas bount?

What's there to feel? She's no different from any of the other bounty hunters willing to set aside their morals to cash.

Related or not, she's getting godstomped when KaraQuest 2 comes out.

While I would agree if forced to choose because of spacial reasons, Id rather just kick out Steeles bed for a bigger one and just have both sleep in my bed all day. Puppycuddles everi naite. Never enough cuddles.

You are right. I would love to see more interactions between crew members. They could talk about how great last nights immoral, shipwide orgy was.

But seriously now: I actually disliked having to "choose" between Kara and Shade. My brain completely understands that it is supposed to add diversity to the game and such but my completionist heart is strangling me all the while, screaming that there has to be a way to get both.

...I spent way to much time at that scene.

I'm probably gonna choose shade if it comes to that, because Bastard family > Girl you met at the bar

Ooof, better go visit Dr.Lash to get those removed, before it happens.

I'd have to say that writing content to deal with every new follower/lover would be pretty troublesome. Imagine, you have five people in your little harem and each one of those people has a scene for each of the other four. You want to make a scene for each interaction between each follower. That's 10 scenes just to facilitate interactions between the five, not to mention if another follower gets added then it becomes 15. Five more scenes. Another follower and 6 more scenes are added. It adds up.

Shit, you know what? Let's make an equation for it!

With s as scenes and f as followers

s = f(f - 1)/2

(btw 20 followers = 190 scenes)

That's the minimum if you want to give at least one interaction between each harem member.

Not that it isn't worth it. It's nice to see your harem interacting within itself.

Of course, one could go the route Couch mentioned and have a little blurb about how the follower doesn't mind you banging said 10 girls next door.

Meh, Shade not getting a few credits she doesn't really need isn't really more important than keeping the Black Void from enslaving another person. I just base that choice off of what I'd do in real life. I wouldn't help my sister or brother capture someone and sell them for cash :S

It's not about the money, though.

You dont have to answer if you want to keep it a surprise but Ill ask nonetheless: Is this about her honor as a Stormguard taking on a job or does she have backstory with Kara?

Im with Vantage on that. I just wanted to strive for the "perfect" conclusion, hoping I could appease Shade somehow DeusEx-Style. Guess Ill have to restart the game once KaraQuest is complete and the options are clear.

Also Ill stop with the offtopic now : P

well i mean i wouldn't want to fuck over Kara either especially if it's helping the black void, but if it's a forced thing i'm not sure what i would do, i guess we'll cross that bridge when we get to it eh?

Oof, I just hope we get to explain to Shade why we let Kara go. I mean, I'd like to have Shade over Kara, but I really don't want to sell her out to the Black Void.

Yeah I guess, I'm decided though. What the Black Void has in mind for Kara is probably worse than death.

Anyways, it would be interesting for Reaha's attitude towards you having multiple followers to vary depending on how affectionate you are. If she's just being used as another fucktoy, then she won't give a fuck, but if you do the talk options and help her with her addiction, she'd be a little salty about it.

Bed warmer for life? I dunno, I'm just thinking in the style of TiTS here. :p

What's Savin mean by you being traitorous? Does he mean when you distract Shade?

The Kara/Shade thing might be more (or less) clear-cut if not for how we know essentially nothing about Kara, while it's possible to get to know Shade fairly well.  There's a much stronger emotional connection with the latter than the former.  What we do know of Kara doesn't exactly paint an ugly picture, but it's not a compellingly pretty one either.

One thing that comes to mind as far as shipmate interactions is a sort of poker night event.  Something where each follower present has a blurb inserted just to make it feel like they're all there enjoying the activity together.

Pretty much whatever happens to Steph between her shows, like the forced treatment.

+1 on this.

Kind of like CoC communal bath?

There's a lot of different factors at work there. Honor as a Stormguard's certainly part of it -- Shade's not happy about missing her quarry, hence why she stays on Myrellion for weeks. A lot of it has to do with her remationship to the Black Void and, moreover, the Dread Lord that's taken up on Myrellion and gave her the job. The biggest part, though, is probably that you were dishonest with her, and that your whole relationship was based on false pretenses and deception. That's the real kicker.

Oh yeah, there was that poker game I wrote for CoC. That happened!

Also yeah, Kara *is* sort of a career felon. At least she's mostly a non-violent one, but she's still very much so a crook -- and working for one of the biggest criminals in the galaxy, as of TiTS. Probably a lighter shade of grey than Shade, but still, very much in the grey zone.

Then that makes the choice a bit harder... then again our PC can be a Smuggler (And mines is, since Smugglers currently have the highest damage) so it's not like my PC isn't a crook.

I mean, two of the class choices are strictly grey area (Mercenary and Smuggler) while another is too general to be anything good or bad (Tech Specialist).

Couldn't I be a Mercenary and still be considered a crook?

Do they? I cleared enemy's faster on a Mercenary than a Smuggler

It's mainly because of the Aimed Shock perk, which with maxed Int and Aim, allows you to do like 70-100 damage per hit, when you aren't getting the shoot first perk off. Honestly, I might drop Shoot First, because Aimed Shot deals more damage than it and I'm pretty sure Low Blow has a higher chance to stun than concussive shot. Shoot First is still more useful if you're using Lust increasing weapons, because aimed shot doesn't affect Lust Damage.

Mercenary's Power Cleave skill doesn't allow for the double hit perk to activate, and that's a Mercenary's only reliable way to increase their damage.

Smugglers are still the frailest of the three classes, so having the most damage is a given.

Couldn't I be a Mercenary and still be considered a crook?

Yeah, Mercenary is a morally grey class too.

I'd be surprised if Kara were evil enough to deserve whatever the Black Void have in store for her. Being a criminal only means she's breaking laws, which may or may not be "legit" laws; for example, Luke Skywalker was a huge criminal (and a terrorist), but he was no villain.

Even if she is a genuine crook, does she deserve what the Black Void will do to her? Not knowing the extant of her crookedness and what the Black Void plans for her, it's hard to say, but I'd lean towards "no".

Maybe Shade is being forced into accepting this job, I don't know. But right now though it looks like she willingly accepted a job from some extremely evil people, which would make her a villain.

At this point in time, unless I were specifically playing a villainous character, I'd always help Kara over Shade. You get extra weapons that way, too, which makes it an even easier choice.

Currently, if you're a Tech Specialist, helping Kara is in your best interest, because the strongest energy weapon you can get right now is the Arc Caster, which you only get by beating the shit out of Shade.

I've never tried Mercenary, but my Smuggler one-turn-KO'd both Queensguard and Queen Taivra back to back, and wasn't even using the best weapon available at the time.

Yeah... Shoot First + Double Shot + Lust Weapon is kind of broken, does like 90+ Lust damage in one turn.

Honestly that's not that much of an incentive to shut down Shade, seeing as it isn't exactly balls-achingly difficult to finish off enemies even with just a Nova Pistol.
