Game Freak announced a new Pokemon today, the Poison/Fire type Slandit. Announcement Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJ2sin-c3Kk


Anyhoo, I was perusing serebii for some extra details and I found this, taken from it's official description:


Salandit emits toxic gas, together with flames, from the base of its tail. This poisonous gas has a sweet smell, and anyone who unknowingly breathes it in will become dizzy. Salandit is not a very powerful Pokémon, but its cunning nature allows it to battle fiercely by throwing its opponents off balance. Salandit females not only release toxic gases, they can also emit pheromones that attract males of all species, including Pokémon and humans. Inhaling these pheromones may cause opponents to be controlled by Salandit’s will.


I just know there's going to be fan art of it soon. Already found some NSFW stuff on tumblr, but nothing related to the pheromones yet. What do you all think?

I also immediately thought of how people were going to create nsfw stuff from this.


The use of pheromones will probably increase in popularity soon enough. And I could easily imagine the use of it's pheromones in a doujinshi.

I have to wonder what Pokemon would be like if it wasn't held to Nintendo's MO of being family friendly. Imagine a game where Pokemon actually acted like the Pokedex says they do. Some of them (especially the ghost types) are pretty scary, to be honest.

Humans would not have been able to claw their way into being the dominant species, and they would not have ended up being so goddamn 'normal' if cross-breeding was ever a possibility. So in a grittier, more mature version of that setting the whole idea the Pokemon universe as it's depicted in game collapses.

If cross breeding happened between pokemon and humans it would really explain how pokemon that evolve into humanoid forms came to being from.

We're the only ones capable of using tools? Mister Mime uses brooms and can basically perform household chores, Farfetch'd basically turns a leek into a sword, and I feel like there's one more I'm forgetting. Humans are just the most shitty Pokemon ever, but we're basically the biggest support Pokemon in existence. Because we can make a Magikarp strong enough to beat a Mewtwo.


TLDR: Humans are Pokemon just we learn zero combat moves. We can't even deal damage when we throw rocks.

It probably wouldn't count since its from a fangame, but if Pokemon actually did what the Pokedex said they do, Masking and evolutions would terrify me far more then any cannon 'mons.  At least for 95% of the official Pokemon, they sorta reign in the creepy to keep it family friendly.  Fakemon designers arn't under those obligations.  Just my 0.02$

Well, at least it's a female thing, unfortunately because of this and their reptilian looks I imagine we're not gonna see Gardevoir or even Gothelle levels of porn it. If it was male and had this ability I'm sure there would be shit tons of artwork and would've had them basically fucking overtaking the entire female human population and ruling the world and it would all be one girls fault or something.

I've already seen several nsfw fan arts of males using pheromones. I don't think canon gender limitations is going to stop people from doing that, especially for something like pheromones.

I think Wimpod and Mudsdale are my faves.


Descriptions taken from serebii.


Wimpod Description:  Wimpod have a cowardly nature and are wary of noises and sudden movements. If you approach them in a group, they’ll immediately run off. When Wimpod feel threatened, they spit out a poisonous liquid. The stench of this toxic fluid signals others that danger is near. Despite their extreme cowardice, their curiosity leads Wimpod to approach people or Pokémon that are standing still. Wimpod eat and store anything that they find fallen on the ground. They also scavenge any garbage that’s been dropped in the sea, so they’re highly valued as cleaners. They sometimes carry pearls or other valuable items, so humans or Pokémon like Murkrow may target them.


There's just something about it's cowardice that makes it cute to me. I guess it brings out my desire to befriend and protect it.


Mudsdale Description:  Mudsdale is known for its powerful body as well as its emotional fortitude, which keeps it from being agitated by anything. It never cries out, no matter what kind of trouble it’s in, and it defeats its opponents with a single powerful blow. Its legs are coated in protective mud, and the weight of this coating increases the force of its kicks. One kick, and a car is a pile of scrap! Mudsdale’s running speed is not too swift, but it has excellent power and stamina. It can carry on for three days and three nights despite dragging loads of over 10 tons! When Mudsdale gallops in earnest, the power of each hoof-clop can dig out huge holes, even in asphalt. Mudsdale is forbidden to run on some of Alola’s public roads.


Man, Mudsdale is really strong. It also has a really cool design.


Bounsweet Description:  Because it exudes a delicious smell from its entire body, Bounsweet is popular with Pokémon and people of the Alola region. Bounsweet’s scent has a calming effect on humans, so many people let them live inside their homes as a sort of air freshener. Unfortunately, it’s sometimes swallowed whole by Pokémon drawn to its aroma. When running away from other Pokémon, Bounsweet flees danger by skipping along the ground. Since its bouncy movements don’t convey to others that it’s actually in desperate flight, no one ever comes to its aid.


What a frightening sounding life. To behave so cutely by default that people are unable to realize when you're in trouble.
