I've lost a lot of interest in the game and I just don't care enough to play through it again right now. Can someone just tell me what happens so that I can decide if it's worth doing myself?
Ending of the raid itself, not the whole game obviouslyhow would we know before the ending comes out?
It's not linear per se, but every outcome where you fail to repel the siege is a Bad End, so the only ending that continues the game is the one where you succeed.Do your choices have any impact on the ending, is it like the winter city where some things change but the outcome is the same, or is it just completely linear?
Could you explain what those variations are? It's not linear per se, but every outcome where you fail to repel the siege is a Bad End, so the only ending that continues the game is the one where you succeed.
There are variations for how you succeeded of course, and a few things can change after, but there's really only two main outcomes: do or die.
There's two paths to resolving the siege.Could you explain what those variations are?
Thanks. Sounds kinda underwhelming to me tbh, but still interesting enough to play through and see more than just the basic rundown. There's two paths to resolving the siege.
The first one is leading the armies of Khor'minos and your allies (Kervus Tribe, Hornet Hive, Boreal Rangers, etc.) against the cult's armies, then storming their keep directly with Calise (Kasyrra). The second is you and Varena sneaking into the keep via the aqueducts and taking out the cult's leadership yourselves, no large-scale battle.
The end result of breaking the siege is the same for both, though there are dialogue changes and an item you can only get on Varena's route. The biggest change between the two routes aside from the battles being different is actually what happens to Kasyrra and Calise.
If you take Kasyrra's route and storm the fortress with her, then she and the REAL Calise have a confrontation and you get to find out more about them both. You have the option there of teaming up with the real Calise to betray Kasyrra and fight her, though Kasyrra is obviously really strong so this is usually a Game Over if you're not running a build specifically designed to kill her. The devs have said that once the game is finished and the endings to the story are implemented, winning this fight will actually take you right to the game's ending. For now, it just gives you a congrats message from the devs and tells you to reload.
If you don't betray Kass on her route, then afterwards you have three options: Let Kass keep pretending to be Calise, expose her to Khor'minos, OR tell her to leave and have Real Calise replace her so that nobody suspects anything's changed.
If you take Varena's route of sneaking in, Calise tells you what happened herself. Varena won't allow Kass to stay hidden in her city, so she'll always expose Kasyrra no matter what you if take her route. Your choices are to either let her rip the bandaid off and expose Kass, OR let her expose Kass but bring Real Calise along to replace her after.
If Kass is allowed to stay, she remains in Khor'minos as Calise and not much changes.
If Kass is told to leave and then stealthily replaced by Real Calise, Calise announces that her work here is done, and that she's leaving the city because her help is needed elsewhere. Everyone's a little sad and confused about this (especially Isadora) but accepts it without too much fuss.
If Kass is exposed and Real Calise doesn't replace her, everyone is horrified and the city suffers a huge hit to morale. Isadora is absolutely devastated.
If Kass is exposed and Real Calise is brought along, Calise will tell Kelsaz and the guards that Kass kidnapped and imprisoned her (leaving out the fact that she was turned into a demon). Kass is thus forced to reveal herself in front of everyone, at which point she leaves (the guards try to apprehend her and fail miserably). The city is shocked, but ultimately not as heavily affected as if she was exposed raw. Real Calise still leaves after, Isadora is heartbroken but not too badly.
