Newbie Writer Questions?

Hi! New here. Hopefully people are nice :)

Been thinking about doing some writing to finally give back to what I consider to be the best adult game franchise on the market (been playing for years), but I had a couple questions. I've just skimmed the FAQ, Event Writer's Guide, and Wsan's "On Writing".

1) Where is the limit with banned content exactly? I had initially hoped to write some watersports content, but I noticed it's on the banned list. However, unless I'm remembering incorrectly, I believe the CoC games have had plenty of scenes that seem like they wouldn't be allowed. For instance: squirting scenes (debatably water-sports-adjacent content), eating who-knows-how-old cum out of an elf lady's rectum (debatably scat-adjacent content), and worm stuff (debatably vore-adjacent content). So I'm wondering what tolerances are available for content submissions (if any) and if certain things are okay as opt-in-only or not? Please explain.

2) The parser stuff confuses me as someone with very little web design / coding / programming / etc. experience. I think I understand the basics. So I'm using the brackets whenever it seems like they would apply and the first bit is checking for something. If there are no... like... 'modifiers' in that first part, the second part will be displayed if it found the thing it was checking for and the third part will be displayed if it didn't (or it displays nothing if you don't add a third part). If there are 'modifiers', you make a separate part for each one, like in the [pc.cupRange flat A B D F K|no tid|small tid|nice tid|big tid|v big tid|v v v big tid] example. So if the pc had D cups it would output "big tid". And some specific ones like day/night work a bit differently. Is that right? Am I missing anything?

Thanks for the help! :p Looking forward to contributing if my dumb brain can figure it out

If it's on the banned list, it's banned. If you need to ask, it's probably a "no."

I understand if you're busy, but I feel like I need more than a "probably" with regards to some of this stuff. Maybe I should be more specific.

1) In the Elthara scene I referenced previously, am I to understand that was acceptable because cum was used with no reference to scat? In other words "Ass eating yes, but scat / non-cum substances no."? Did it require the high corruption as an opt-in to make it okay? Essentially - is it correct to say that CoC2 defines the scat fetish at the substance (or similar)? Or is there some line I need to worry about with anal, ass eating, fisting, etc. even if no such aforementioned substance is present?

2) The Messy Orgasms perk is designed to encourage squirting and compares it to ejaculate. So it begs a similar question: is squirting acceptable in the same ways as cumming, or is it watersports? Is it treated much more strictly than male ejaculation? Or is it only when the aspects of urine are emphasized (color, smell, the act of peeing, toilets, etc.) that it crosses the line?

Correct.

Correct

The way you've worded this implies you think the fluid squirted out during squirting is urine. In FenCo games at least, it's actually vaginal lubricant (more commonly referred to as girl-cum), which is not urine (it's made mostly in Skene's gland, the female counterpart to the prostate) and thus doesn't count as watersports.

I'm not an authority by any means, but I think you're REALLY overthinking this. Just like almost every game I've played (except that Evangelion one where I had to watch out for Shinji's pee meter), nobody poops or pees. Girl cum is girl cum. Cum is cum. Pee and poop are pee and poop. And effectively don't exist. If they existed in this world... just imagine the centaur village. Don't bring your barefoot party members :ghost:

"You come" = not watersports
"You pee" = watersports
"You drink cum out of an elf's ass" = felching, not scat
"You eat shit out of an elf's ass" = scat

I dare say it's that simple. We're talking fetishes here, not med school.

Thanks for the clarification! :)

I worded it that way to make the case that it should be treated the same. I wasn't sure if the creators/admins/mods/whatever would acknowledge the minor difference (at the end of the day, both substances contain a non-zero amount of urea and are primarily water content) or if it was all basically urine-adjacent to them. And I wanted to figure out the logic behind their problem with watersports.

It's what I do lol. It's my curse, I guess.

Good to know!

"You drink cum out of an elf's ass"
Eat and chew cum.

As for parsers, most writers can’t code. You just have to get used to it overtime.
