As someone also with signs of depression (I wouldn't be surprised if I had it officially), it's really not as bad as you're making it out to be.
not gonna invalidate your struggles like the text does but people kill themselves over their feelings ignored/devalued so yea sometimes it gets pretty bad.
official diagnosis here, and yeah, characters are going to have bad opinions. part of deciding to engage with a work of fiction, especially dark fiction, is to separate it from reality. understanding that you have agreed to take all statements with a grain of salt and due suspension of disbelief because it's not real.
