[Reptillicus]

She blinks at him. Wasn't the last thing he showed her from here also poisonous for one reason or another? "Geez... are all the things grown here that deadly?", she mumbled as she took the fruit hesitantly in her hands. She meekly took a bit to give it a taste none the less.

 

[Archangel99]

"More or less."
The fruit she bites into has an intensely tangy and sour flavour, much like a gooseberry, and instantly made her face scrunch up.
"That bad, huh?" He says, chuckling.

 

[Reptillicus]

She coughs a little after swallowing and hands it back to him. "....That's a bit much....", she wheezed.

 

[Archangel99]

"For a first timer, yes. But when it's used in cooking, not so much." He says, munching on the fruit as he walks away to another stall. This time, he picks up a green fruit that looked like it had scales on it. "Try this."

 

[Reptillicus]

She takes it carefully into her hand hoping there where no spikes or barbs to poison her. After finding none and looking over its strange scaly peel she carefully tries to rake a bite.

 

[Archangel99]

Her teeth slip off the scales the first time.
"Little more force. Bite into that thing like it's meat." He says, chuckling.

 

[Reptillicus]

She goes "Hmmm...", gives the scaly fruit a questioning glance before giving it another go. This time she bites into it like its a juice steak hoping that it tasted better then the last fruit.

 

[Archangel99]

It practically explodes with juices in her mouth. It tasted a bit like apples that had been left in honey for a long time.

 

[Reptillicus]

Her eyes grew a little wider as the fruit gushes into her mouth. she has to cup a hand under her chin to make sure none of it would get on her new outfit. Overall she quite liked it despite the mess. "Ok... a little gushy, but tasty what do you call it?", she asked.

 

[Archangel99]

"We call this Amr'la. Which means juicy fruit. Literally." He says, chuckling.

 

[Reptillicus]

"Huh, go figure... oh by the way, do the old ones help with all the food growing? They certainly seem the type.", she asked with genuine curiosity.

 

[Archangel99]

"Oh yes. They do. They monitor practically all plant life in this place, and are usually the ones managing the crops. Since, you know, they happen to be sentient trees." He says, chuckling.

 

[Reptillicus]

"Well when you put it like that....", she said musing over it. "Uh also.... is it ok for us to just be taking fruit like this?", she said looking up at him questioningly.

 

[Archangel99]

"Yeah. These guys don't mind if you just take one. A little more than that and they get annoyed." He says, chuckling.

 

[Reptillicus]

"Oh ok cool.", She said as she took another bite of Amr'la, being careful not to gush all over herself. "Another question just hit me.... But uh, this is all alien food, well to me anyway. But uh, are their any side effects on humans i need to watch out for? Like, I'm not gonna get an allergic reaction or something am I?"

 

[Archangel99]

He blinks for a few seconds, before looking at her. "I... Actually did not think of that." He says with a nervous chuckle. "If you feel funny, let me know."

 

[Reptillicus]

She gave him her own nervous look. "Did he seriously not think about this earlier?! For fucks sake!", she thought looking a little ruffled in the fox tails. "I-I'm sure the fruits ok... I'm certain they'd label it if it wasn't fit for humans.", she said thinking that the sellers probably had the foresight to be careful with different species about. "And just cuz i have the sinking suspicion that I'm right... I'm going to guess that there's a fruit that.... um.... can make you... ya'kown... lusty.", Jess asked with a slight blush.

 

[Archangel99]

"Of course there is. Although it's not a fruit. It's a nut. Why, you wanna see it?" He asks, raising an eyebrow.

 

[Reptillicus]

"A-ha! So its a nut huh? well now I know what to watch out for.", she said with a sort nod. "Anyway no. I'd rather not.... Got anything like potato around here? might be good for mashing?", she asked, swiftly changing the subject.

 

[Archangel99]

"Hmm... Maybe. Maybe not... Well, you do remember that green thing I served when I cooked dinner, right?" He asks.

 

[Reptillicus]

"Yeah, actually.... i quite liked that. can stew em too? Gosh this is actually making me bit peckish...", she said rubbing her stomach a little.

Things were nice calm now for the most part far as she could tell. no one was pointing and whispering about her... and she wanted it to stay that way. "Yeah, its not like one little video is gonna get the attention of some big shot...", she thought briefly.

 

[Archangel99]

"I... Guess? I don't know. I've never tried it." He says, shrugging. "Anyway, that would be this thing." He says, holding up a green blob of what looked like... Jelly.

 

[Reptillicus]

"Eh? Not what I was expecting.", Jess thought aloud, on eyebrow raised. It certainly looked weird to her.

 

[Archangel99]

"You just toss it into a pot, cook it till it becomes solid, and then mash it up. Eating it raw is disgusting." He says.

 

[Reptillicus]

"That's weird.... still it tastes good. So what is it, a root?", she asked giving it a quizzical look.

 

[Archangel99]

"Ummm... It's... Jelly. Uhh... I think... I think it's from... The seed of a particular fruit or something." He says, frowning slightly. "Can't really remember."

 

[Reptillicus]

"Go figure, that is weird.", she said with another quizzical look. "Another question, is this all native? Or did some of it come from off world?", she asked looking around.

 

[Archangel99]

"None of our food comes from off world. Whatever off world food we try to grow here never survives." He says, shrugging.

 

[Reptillicus]

"Really? Is it because of the soil or something?", she mused aloud as she picked up a random fruit.

 

[Archangel99]

"Maybe. Nobody can tell, really." He says, shrugging.
The fruit she was holding in her hand seemed vaguely... Phallic in nature.
"Aaaand you're holding a Niproa. It's pretty tasty on the inside... But I'd you grind the seeds into a powder and spread them over someone's food... Well... Rest assured you're going to be quite sore next morning." He says, chuckling.
