So Titan grasp makes light and 2handed weapons generally obsolete for damage focused warriors.

I'm not sure I like this Perk tbh
Probably an slight modification to the Perk as to have PC's that only wield 1 two hand Weapon do an extra damage based on the damage of the Weapon, that would expand on the possibility of minumum efficiently playable builds.

We're playing around with adding a new combat mechanic where if you have an available empty offhand slot, you get offensive bonuses to your primary weapon. So pre-9 this would mean using a 1H weapon with no shield/offhand, and then with Titan Grip this would also apply to a 2H with no shield/offhand. We haven't decided on which stats or what numbers yet, but it'll probably be some combination of attack power/accuracy/crit/crit effectiveness.

How do ya'll feel about +20 accuracy and +20 crit effectiveness? The accuracy will make you hit more (obviously) but also crit more because of the over-hit mechanic if the target doesn't have insane evasion, while the crit effectiveness is essentially +20 attack power when you do crit. I think these stats make the most sense narratively (how using a weapon with an extra hand would assist you in real life), they complement the existing stats of 2H weapons well, but also I'm afraid giving attack power would make 1H w/ no shield/offhand steal the identity of 2H weapons pre-9.

Seems pretty reasonable to me. Any chance of using 2 light weapons getting a similar sort of buff with titan's grasp as well?

That risks being strictly better than 2 one handed weapons which would kinda defeat the point of the perk or being strictly worse than 2 one handers which therefore runs into the same issue

Probably not. This change is due to Titan Grasp doing nothing for the fantasy of using a big ass sword and doing lots of damage (2H dps build). It makes tank builds w/ 2H very very good but is actually a loss of dps for 2H builds unless you're doing some kind of Warrior spell/charmblade build that can take advantage of a catalyst offhand. The dual wielder fantasy on the other hand is stronger than ever, if you're using light weapons it's because their unique passives are very good for your build. We think that's a valid choice, and if you decide to stick with 2 light weapons there's always Enduring Body or reclassing to Thief.

It's more because there aren't any non light holy dealing swords, so my paladin uses the light ones. If dawnsword wasn't light I'd be really hyped for this, but there aren't any paladin weapons that are regular one handers

Fair enough, but enduring is only really for tanks, and twist the knife has very specific conditions that don't really fit the vibe I'm going for on my main dual light weapon user (charge weapon paladin with dawnsword/sanc. gladius) but Savin did mention recently that healer's hands might be getting changed, so I guess white mage will hopefully work better for that champion.

Pretty much all of my gripes with this perk come from exactly 1 of my champions tbh

First time i heard of the Dawnsword i thaught it would be an 2h weapon ended up not being, but for what your suggesting it seems you would want an 2h holy sword instead of the current available light versions.

Would be nice if the Dawnsword through some kind of means would be able to a lá Lion-O make it grow bigger than what it currently is, an be able to switch it back an forth from an light 1h sword to an 2h sword that would put out more holy light into the light blade (as it seems to be an kinda of an lightsaber type of blade [wich in essence does not have an physical blade]).

Does the possible new combat mechanic '+20 accuracy and +20 crit effectiveness' only affect physical damage 1h weapons and thus with Titan Grasp physical damage 2h weapons aswell due to the "...while the crit effectiveness is essentially +20 attack power when you do crit."?

"...but also I'm afraid giving attack power would make 1H w/ no shield/offhand steal the identity of 2H weapons pre-9."
You could make the offensive bonuses to your primary weapon scale (or give different values) depending on what you are using be it an 1h or 2h.

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking, but the proposed mechanic would give +20 accuracy and +20 crit effectiveness to your primary weapon if you have an available but unfilled offhand slot. So, without Titan Grasp, if you have a 1H weapon but nothing in your offhand slot, your primary weapon would get the stats. If you have Titan Grasp, if you have a 1H or 2H weapon but nothing in your offhand slot, your primary weapon would get the stats.

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking,
Was asking about if it was only an physical +20 ap that would be abplied from the cit effectiveness, but finally understood it, as the bonus will work as it normally works ingame depending of the damage output of the equiped weapon. (physical damage gets ap, magical damage gets sp, etc. ...).
Silly me.
