As stupid as this might be for asking cuz I know somewhere people have asked this, what are the pro and cons for going inari shoujo and/or kitsune hime, just not sure if one is better than the other, cuz I know there has been a lot of gripes over the years with kinu content in her growing up too fast cuz magic stuff and her ending up with possibly nakano bleehh worst choice ever, plus with how indifferent the kitsune people are towards the MC for being an outsider and all that stuff. Just someone tell me what are the pro and cons for going inari shoujo and/or kitsune hime for kinu, or if I shouldn't bother at all???

fully subjective personal opinion
pros for farm kinu: better aesthetic, actually likes farm guy as a person, not a mini-kiyoko
cons for farm kinu: violent allergy to receiving help from others, poor relationship with kiyoko (fair bc child abuse)

cons for princess kinu: nakano is there, uncomfortable outfit, doesn't like you bc of the decade of no-show (fair tbh)
pro to princess kinu (singular): can rp weird stepcest shit with a handsome kitsune dude

Does kitsune hime kinu really hate MC, from what I remember from my older playthroughs she made it seems as if she understood the situation, or was she just masking her real emotions???

another con for princess kinu is that she is never really herself, through out this path you continuously either choose something that kiyoko will love and not you, dont help others and make them face consequences, and hide your emotions because you dont want to inconvenience others, its not really raising a child its indoctrinating a baby to be like her mother

I can understand that problem the only issue is the other path makes her so antagonistic to her mother to be everything she's not. Like its fine to be your own person just don't treat who you might become as an enemy.

Honestly, I was going to do kitsune hime route, even if she hates my mc's guts for literally something out of my control, and that isn't warranted, at least she would've had people to belong too, but argghh now I'm not too sure of anything in regards to kinu, to be honsest wish there was an option or scenes where kiyoko can talk some sense into kinu, like its not like my mc wants to abandon his family for a whole decade and more.

P.S. keros sucks ass for this

Another pro for hime - she gonna marry nakano, if you love Rindo this is good for you because otherwise she hyperfixates in some talks because she has/had a huge crush on Nakano. in this way nakano is a pro and a con, con because he sucks, pro because he gets taken of the table.

Also I never really felt like hime kinu hates you, but maybe that's just me.

Yeah I've never read Hime Kinu as hating champ, they pretty clearly love and cherish them. Rather, Kinu's grown more into her role in Kitsune society and thus away from you since you're still an "outsider" no matter what. By default that means you're a bit more distant than before and there's a bit of angst over that and the lost years. If anything it's because she loves you so much that there's grief but she's moving past that and so should champ. I believe there's a line to that affect somewhere in her dialogue, that the fact she doesn't need you any more makes the fact that she chooses to spend time with you more meaningful.

Also Inari Kinu means having Kinu and Kiyoko at each other's throats and that just doesn't seem like a good state of affairs, it feels especially bad since Kiyoko's the one who had to raise her for 10~ years. Not to mention Kinu's fundamentally a part of Kitsune society more than ours and as a Kitsune she can't really integrate into the Frostwood since Kitsune are still seen as "soul suckers," having her rebel against that seems like needless friction. I also don't really dislike Nakano? At least as a partner for Kinu. Don't get me wrong I think he's an arrogant brat but like, he's young, being arrogant and ambitious is almost expected. I think it's best summed up as "she can fix him." In particular, I think the threats to her safety would get him to mature a bit, and the fact that he's in love with a "barbarian's" child should help him get over that.

but you are forgetting that kiyoko herself isnt a part of the kitsune society as a whole, the colony is basically all backwater outcasts that were sent there in hopes of being forgotten, kinu wont really be accepted in that community because she has the blood of the filthy outsider, so isnt it better to simply abandon a society thats way too rigid and elitist and just live life?(or maybe im biased)

But that's precisely it, they're outcasts of kitsune society and can't be accepted by the Frostwood but they've picked up bits of the Frostwood by virtue of living there. That puts Kinu in the perfect position to be at the top, at least of that little microcosm. Keep in mind, we don't want to draw the attention of mainland Kitsune society anyway which is why Kiyoko doesn't take a more involved position so Kinu likely won't go any higher than being an aide to Komari and then to whichever sister takes over if Komari gets to pass on (not accounting for divine shenanigans or other plot developments). If she wants to nudge the collective consciousness of the kitsune society in the tree, she'll be better able to do so from a position of respect and authority than without it.

I agree the kitsune society is kinda ass but the tree being an outcast enclave where the rules are more relaxed helps things out. But perhaps most importantly, all those rules and stuff are apparently because kitsune need to restrain themselves, because they're "soul suckers" and without that restraint they could so easily become monsters. That's why you're still an outsider even after Keros names you their champion, you don't have the hunger and you didn't have to grow up with it, it's not a fundamental part of your existence. But for Kinu it is, and that society is what she spent her entire life learning of and living in a little bubble of. Whether Inari or Hime, she can't get away from that. Indeed, Inari really gripes about the "princess" bit of "kitsune princess" because it's not like she can get away from the "kitsune" part.

So to simplify and dumb it down a bit, you're saying its better she be kitsune hime, right??

Both daughters are good, I just ended up arguing for kitsune hime more since most people tend to lean inari shoujo. Also on some level I'm making the assumption that the two routes will converge. It's not like Hime Kinu has no problems, it's just that her problems are easier to deal with and being Hime puts her in a better position in the short term before whatever route merge happens.

TLDR: yeah kitsune hime but inari shoujo is still good

This I don't think is borne out in the game. Kiyoko is Komari's lord. Komari's loss of her liege was treated at one of the worst things you could possibly do. While Kiyoko's younger sister took up her role as den mother in the home country, the home country did not send a replacement lord for the colony.

When Kiyoko is resurrected over a century later, she goes right back to being Komari's liege. While Komari holds the real day to day power, she is still a de jure subordinate of Kiyoko. When Kiyoko dies, Kinu as the first born daughter will inherit Kiyoko's position as liege. If Miko/Mai were to assume power after Komari, they would be the day to day operators of the colony but they would be subordinate to Kinu. How subordinate the relationship is not specified, but it would at the very least be ceremonial.

One of the biggest conflicts Kiyoko and Inari Kinu have is her desire to not trapped in leadership and the lack of ambition in her husband which doesn't make sense if Kinu is not set up towards being a liege. None of the other denizens really have any issues with Kinu and she is fairly popular.

Lastly, while Kitsunes have been repeatedly shown to be incredibly insular, there haven't been any shown prejudice towards producing children with non kitsunes. Kitsunes frequently mate with non kitsunes for energy and Kitsunes breed true so there really wouldn't be a source of the type of prejudice. The champion's other kitsune mates don't really complain specifically that it was a non kitsune that knocked them up, and Komari straight up sets the champion up with Rindo.

also a sign that the world isnt nearly as xenophobic towards them is that harpies frequently shack up with male kitsunes, they take them to their nests and everything, i think the "they all HATE US" comes from the first settlers bad experience, then they lock up, and then the new generations are taught fear when really if we're talking about soul snatching and soul fuckery kitsune are the LEAST of marches worries

also i do think that inari would generally be better because A) as PalletTown said above she is always popular no matter the "route" and B) this point flows from A, if she is liked no matter what and we dont want the attention of the mainland isnt it better to have someone who identifies with the "gaijin" side more? they live here might as well adapt and not be stuck with same traditions that dont work in foreign lands and same fears that dont really hold up
