Kane Sparring needs a rework

There needs to be some serious rebalancing here.

First of all, the hints that you get during each "round" so to speak are fairly inconsistent. Sometimes they telll you exactly what to do, sometimes they dont. And sometimes it tells you, but the wording is a bit cryptic so you need to trial and error it to figure it out.

Then theres the fact that its not even guaranteed to work. Which i find to be just plain unfair in every regard.

And lastly is the constant lust gain. I had to max out my willpower and lower my libido to zero in order to be able to consistently not get bodied by his pheromones alone. The fight is literally impossible if you have any less than like 40 willpower and any more than 30 libido.

Im sorry, but this is some day 1 bothrioc quadomme levels of bs, here.

1) 43. But you have to admit, needing to max out a stat for a miniboss is pretty bs

3) Again, read above. this isnt the final freaking boss! its a glorified game of rock paper scissors, only the other guy is trying to shoot you at the same time! theres no way someone who wasnt going way out of their way to get their stats to the max would be able to do this reliably.

Challenging him with your natural gifts in a physical contest are his terms, it's biased toward him because you're a flippin' starwalker with likely badass weapons and armor. Guy's got huge pride, he wants to keep it.

I get that, and im not asking them to make him stupidly easy, or whatever. just dial it back a couple notches so that you dont need fully maxed stats to stand a chance against him.

Okay, I can literally do the fight as a cum-starved Dumb4Cum Techie, you just have to know what to do based on what he's doing, completely ignore the hints if you don't have max Int.

Also, it doesn't need to be maxed because he's that tough, but because it's a percentage based system as far as I can tell.

Yeah, but the percentages for you succeeding are so low you need every possible advantage you can get.

At the very least nerf the list buildup a bit. Make it so we have at least *some* margin for error

Its not rocket science, its basic reading comprehension. If he uses one move, counter with another. Height gives you an advantage too.

That's what I did. But he I kept loosing from the lust gain. Granted my libido was at 60, but still.

Yeah, I admit, that may have been the major downfall.

But I tried it with zero libido, and I still had a lot of trouble. Had to max out my willpower to stand a chance. Though, my willpower was a but low...

I meant that there's a percentile you can see in your Codex of how far your stat is to max, and I'm pretty sure certain things use that percentage, and assume the hints in this spar is one of those things.

But still, it's not difficult, just like any of the puzzles in the game.

Again, it's supposed to be. It's bonus content you get off the completing the main Plantation quest (in itself side content) that you absolutely don't have to do, and should only do if you really want to rub some punk nobody's face in it.

Again, I get that. I just think that it's just a tad bit too much for those that would likely be doing it. Cuz the plantation quest becomes available at what, level 8? Anyway, I'm just saying.

Yeah, see. So it's not likely someone whose only been adding points to their stats through leveling up (ie me) would have the stats needed to beat kane consistently, if at all

For one, I'm not sure you need to have perfect stats instead of just doing the proper move, but I've never done anything below max stats because they're easy to get.

And two, you constantly abuse the hell out of the save editor, and haven't raised your stats with it?

Kane is balanced in my opinion. The main key to beating him is looking at the text prompts you do not need the max level to beat him either just high int stats. Also, go in with zero lust you have a high chance of winning. Overall Kane is balanced and to nerf him would make one of the more tricky parts of the game duller. The challenge makes it even sweeter when beat the smug wasp.

I only use the save editor to get the quest results/items that I want, ie how much I've obsessed with Karaquest over the years, but mostly it's to keep my PC appearance exactly the way I want it.

I do occasionally boost my stats to get through a really tough boss or whatever, but I change them right back afterward. And I only do it out of necessity.

I do go it with zero lust. But since i keep my libido at a solid 60 and I didnt really invest too much in willpower, he dishes out like 25 lust damage per turn. And I swear that one time I managed to get the right counters to him 4 times, but it still didnt work, cuz theres a chance he will just block your strikes and itll do nothing. I'll give it another shot after I get off work.

I just find it uber annoying.

I dont really think its absolute bs now, though I still think it's a bit unfair and frustrating, and by that I mean just past the point of reasonable, but again, that's just my bit on the matter.

Still kinda hoping yall at least somewhat take what I've said into consideration, but again, whatever.

Sides, I'm kinda tired of debating this myself. And knowing me, I'll probably get over it in a day or two after this, so, again, whatever.
