No matter how many times I defeat it before losing, I cannot get the good scene with the frostwyrm. Is there something I did wrong, or is the wiki lying?
Issue reaching the frostwyrm's not so bad end.

Are you playing with an up-to-date version of the game? Did you try going back to the ice shelf after loseing and calling for her?
I am using an updated version, and there is no option to call for her. I have even started a new save to see if an outdated save was to blame, but no change.
If it means anything, it says, "I will not be so forgiving a second time" after the loss. Every time without fail.

Have you beaten frosty 3 times in a row before letting it defeat you? That text means the bad end will come up next time you loose
