I prefer TiTS more but I come download this like twice a year and check out the new stuff so I'd like to get myself buffed up to move the story forward quicker.
Is there no save editor like there is for T.I.T.S? (Oh there is actually)

There is a topic on the first page of the main forum deceptively marked "CoC2 Save Editor". You might consider checking it out.
Also note that the game will nag you forever if you edit your save and bug reports submitted with an edited save will be thrown out.
