So, woosh. This is a statement mostly intended to mock those who are considered to have missed something. You had three options. One, you could have ignored it. Two, you could have explained "oh, no, I know that, that's why I said 'Pretty clearly not,' in my original post," to try to clear up the perceived misunderstanding. Or, three, you could have done exactly what you did and made a 5-letter response that mockingly imitates the sound of something going over my head, even though that's generally used to be about when a person misses a joke, and not when they misunderstand an actual statement that is not purely comedic in nature.

Oh, calm down. I teased you. It was a jibe to get you to reread my statement, and it worked. No aggression meant.

If you like Paige and don't want to see me criticize her, do us both a favour and don't continue reading.

That aside, I have on big problem with how Paige is written.
The game assumes I love her.
Not only that, it assumes I love her more than literally all my other crewmates. This is made the whole hospital scene and her arrival on the ship extremely annoying to read. Sure, she's cool, but I don't love her. I wanted to give her eyes so I can have a badass pirate/navigator on my ship, not a fucking wife.

On breaking your sexual relations to her she literally says:
“I don’t really care who you bang, because I know, at the end of the day, even if I’m sharing this,” she accentuates, cupping your member and cum-engorged balls with her right hand, “nobody else is taking this,” she says, placing her hand over your heart."
To which the PC (in their internal dialogue) replies
That’s true: you don’t have the same connection with the rest of your crew that you do with Paige, and she’s absolutely right.

Why? How would the game know that? I love HER more than Penny, Anno, Bess and Sera?
It takes away player agency and just assumes that you MUST love her. Fuck that.

I've noticed her entire character was written by B. Is this a theme in their work? Has he mentioned why he does this? Is it just bad writing? Am I just an idiot for caring about this?
I have the opposite problem. My character should like Paige and only Paige. There's quite literally no one else my character has slept with besides Paige despite all of the oppurtunities to do so. My character has done nothing to show that he's interested in an open relationship at all even if he says he's going to sleep around or already has (he gave his virginity to Paige). It's probably too late change anything now, but at least give us the players a choice on how we want to define our relationships with the characters. I know I have an unpopular opinion when it comes to monogamy/polamory in this game, but still, choices are nice.

The problem with games as absurdly open-ended as this - particularly when it comes to whether or not your character is a virgin when meeting any other character at any given point in the story, no matter how early or late - is that the possibilities are nearly limitless and it'd be insane to try and account for them all.

These games are, at their very basest, porn games. If we account for the possibility of the player being monogamous with one character, that invites the question on why we aren't doing it for all 350+ of them.

Also, I have no real opinion on thread necro-ing, but keep in mind that the last post here was over two years ago and some people would rather you start a new thread or something.

Yeah I guess you're right, I'll play the game again later down the line. Next time I'll just ignore that open relationship dialogue and pretend that didn't happen.
