I can't travel East when leaving the Tavern at the start of the game

As I also have a HOTAS setup which can also move the cursor. I think there is conflict with the X55 Logitech HOTAS, and the Xbox controller you have for this game. Maybe look at options to switch off the Xbox controller in the settings page?

There is an option to disable controller support in the settings.

Do you only get the error if the Logitech device is plugged in?

I found that option after I made the post. Turning it off and the game runs fine. Seems a conflict with the HOTAS and Xbox controller option.
