I know some events use your attributes score to determine the outcome. Is their a way to tell when this is the case?

Not directly, although reading and paying attention to context will usually give you an idea when a stat check has been passed or failed, and running multiple Champs (or one with respecing) and comparing results will usually make it more apparent. Likewise whenever a race/background check happens, though those are usually a little more obvious... as long as you're actually paying attention to the text anyways.
On that note, it would be cool if we got like a stat/background check notice kind of like in Baldur's Gate 3 to know when your build choices affected the outcome. Doubt it'll happen, but it's a neat thought.
