Like the title says, I’m looking to make a more melee oriented charmer for enemies who are immune to tease attacks. I was thinking of using serpent’s dance and song of storms, but I’d like to hear suggestions from y’all. Thank you in advance!
Serpent's Dance is one of the better choices because it keeps your DPS respectable, and Song of Storms is worth taking if your build can support it. I'd also recommend investing in survivability—good evasion or defense goes a long way since you'll be fighting up close. You won't melt tease-immune enemies as fast as a dedicated melee build, but you'll have a much smoother experience overall.Like the title says, I’m looking to make a more melee oriented charmer for enemies who are immune to tease attacks. Yup, perfectly viable. You may get more mileage out of some other powers, like maybe Flames Within instead of Eviscerate, but you can definitely use that.Is power cadence, sorran chant, whirlwind, eviscerate, (ult of choice because they're all kinda bad, probably unbreakable as a panic button with double duration from charmer) a viable build?
Sorran Chant as your only heal is gonna be rough. You can certainly give it a try, though.Follow up, is it insane to use that build as the only healer in the party? I'm thinking Totem Arona and arena Brint as my main two for that one. Mostly because I massively overuse Queen Ryn as a healer most of the time, so I'm attempting to branch out a bit
If you're building a melee-focused charmer, Serpent's Dance is definitely a solid choice. I'd also consider investing in evasion and crit synergy so you can stay effective against tease-immune enemies. Song of Storms can work well for utility and crowd control, depending on your build. Curious to see what combinations other players have found successful!Like the title says, I’m looking to make a more melee oriented charmer for enemies who are immune to tease attacks. The healing on smite evil is pretty abysmal. Depending on your difficulty though it might work.Tbf Arona has smite evil, so I technically have 2 heals. This will go fine
Oh lmao, my b. Yeah GK is nice. May wanna swap Arona to Warhides in that case so she can tank. That was meant to be a sarcastic "this is fine" should have probably made that clearer my bad. I guess I could run GK on brint?
I'd say so, yeah. It's a fairly simple setup with guarded stance and shield drive, but it gets the job done.I've never actually used warhides Arona for any amount of time longer than it took to get spirit totem. Is she as good at tanking as arena brint?
Mine is using ashelander/the eviscerate buffing pair sword (i think its fury?) not sure what you'd use without titan's grasp though, Royal leathers, Winged sabatons, gloves of giant strength, patrician mask, enchanted amulet (not hugely useful most of the time but I like having it), cloak of winter, champions belt, Guldring (honestly not really that useful, but its cool)/Lucky strike ring,So what kind of equipment would a martial charmer get? Weapons, armor, and the like. I'm interested in building one myself but I'm stupid when it comes to build crafting.
For weapons, I’d go with the suggestion @Punccline (in fact, a lot of their suggestions are absolutely fantastic for helping me make this beast of a build) makes near the top of the thread. I opted to go for Ashelander/Rose bloom shield to avoid any stray crits from AOE damage (very handy for dark mode). Jassiran Glaive is very good for damage dealing you get from having that extra 5 sexiness, and I’m testing Heart’s Edge. Image below is my setup for gear. I prioritize initiative, sexiness, and leadership so that I can get my summons out first so they benefit from buffs the party support will give. This can also be helpful in getting your buffs done first if you’re not opting to use summons. I also have my power setup if you’re looking for inspiration. Power Cadence is a good at will buff to make the party better at what they wanna do (it’s also really good to reapply it after getting disrupted so summons are able to benefit from it too). Song of Storms is what makes your noodle arms into artillery shells. I choose Fury Strike to get the +30 attack power on crits (which with PC and White Blossom you’ll be doing a lot of), so it makes my regular attacks just a little bit better while I wait for it to recharge, which is also why I prefer FS for its lower recharge time. TBH, Whirlwind is probably better because most enemies aren’t survive getting hit by you twice (especially if they get crit), so it’s something to consider. For the encounter, I opt for Elosa and Grung as my main summons. I mostly use Grung, but depending on enemy resistances, like the final boss of the colosseum being a physical damage sponge, I opt to use Elosa for teases and good utility. And finally Inspiration is to help the gang become more durable and is a good ‘prevent your pants from turning brown’ button. My usual party members are Royal Raiments Ryn as my support (Witch Cait is also very good, especially for making the party good against ghost/demonic enemies) and Arena Armor Brienne as my tank because she’s best girlSo what kind of equipment would a martial charmer get? I think you’re confused with Guldring. That’s the mage item. White Blossom adds stacks of resonance to other enemies after you land a crit. I used to run Guldring for the leadership, but signet ring is bis for this build imo.Is the whiteblossom ring worth it if you're not stacking willpower? I've always thought it was more of a mage item
It gets to 216 if you’re under blessing, which is why I run Queen Ryn. It goes so hard.Don't really have any apart from the classic lucky strike which would give slightly better accuracy (and so crit in a roundabout way), but white blossom is probably better. Also just did some testing to compare song of storms to sorran chant and holy shit its not even close. Sorran chant was like 25 damage song of storms was a hundred. So thanks for prompting me to do that by not using sorran chant.
Will probably be stealing your build for my charmsword now
