The index sticky is great and all, but it doesn't distinguish games based on current playability, popularity, or help you find what's new and interesting. Is there somewhere that has that kind of stuff? Or like, a reputable review site or something I could go to to find something interesting. I am curious about what is out there, but so far it's been hard to find the gems amidst all the half finished stuff.

Unfortunatly, to the best of my knowledge, no. To the best of my knowledge there isn't any kind of website or more sophisticated list that deals with all of that. If you read through the showcase form or this one you can find stuff that has been updated recently, but its not necessarily polished or playable. The Index has games marked if they have demos, but does not try to judge how complete they are.
Ideally there would be a full website where people could enter info in a richer manner, and do reviews and stuff. But its a pretty niche market, so no one has built it yet.
