How does one play as a Charmer?

It's the title, I've been wanting to stretch my neck out and play the only class I never at least tried playing; the charmer. How exactly does one play it? From what I understand, it's not really a physical damage kind of build and focuses more like lust and buffs to the party (which is probably wrong, again, idk how charmers work), but I just wanna know how to effectively play one.

Like; is it still viable to have a attacking move still? Are there specific weapons that are a must have for a charmer later in the game? Would them wielding a weapon even matter? Would I need to use a catalyst weapon/item for them? Is it just a weak class in general?? So many questions...

Charmer is, in my experience, pretty good! You'll want a basic attack still, yeah, but weapons become mostly stat sticks, as in a slot for bonuses to sexiness and evasion or whatever. Catalysts are nice to have IMO, but Ashe is far and away the best weapon bc bonus Sexiness and not much besides ghosts resists crushing. Note that I am not a buildcrafter or a minmaxxer or anything but I have the best time personally with the Charmer ult and lvl 7 perks, maybe some W. Mage skills and maybe a summon to occasionally drag Threat away from my Tank, usually Armor Cait. Having a healer Be the tank is strong AF IMO, and leaves space free for me to have whoever I find the hottest in-party even if their team role is ass.

Charmers also have the secret weapon of Expert Inspiration which is the best level 7 perk in the game. I like to make my charmer a valkyrie because their powers synergize very well with this perk.

Two turn blessing + Dawnbreak is insane.

4 turn aura of vigor, basically one of your teammates is invincible for 4 turns.
