Some advice for trying to convince him;

post your entire argument right away. Even if it's super long, just slap it all on there immediately by typing it up prior and then copy pasting. That'll give you the best chance of getting your point across and getting him to consider what your saying, intead of just shutting you down mid argument.

Quadruple checkeverything you write, and be sure to be as polite as possible. Try And think ahead And plan out some counter arguments for him. And if he says a flat no, unless you have an amazing counter, do not try and push it! You'll only make things worse for yourself, and may get banned or blocked. Just bite the bullet and accept defeat with dignity.

Good luck. You'll fucking need it.

I said "convince" not "ask" :p

Alright.

Why try and convince him? He's just gonna say no and it will be a waste of time.

Keep in mind that a sufficient alternative for the other classes will help your argument; you know that Techs need Drones, maybe some sorta Shield augment* if they're Shield Techs instead of Drone Techs, but what should the other classes have? The Mercs don't need a physical shield because of the Warden Shield, and I don't think grenades are the best idea for Smugglers, so what are good replacements for those ideas, something thematic and useful?

* Like making the Defense Systems weaker but on hit instead of depletion.

Smugglers should get a equipable cc option. The main weakness of the class is their general reliance on crowd control, which puts them at a huge disadvantage against bosses that are immune to the cc perks the smuggler took.

Perhaps hidden weapons? Or gadgetry.
To be fair, there's only really Stun, Blind, and the Paralytic Shock(it has a different symbol, so I assume it's different), right? And bosses are resistant/immune so that you can't cheese them, even though that's kinda the only way Smugglers can do damage. They would definitely need something like that to help, or some alternative equally as useful, like the hidden weapons such as a secondary blade or pistol only available when using one-handed weapons to incentivize smaller weapons actually being used.

No clue what Mercs need though.

Perhaps a pack of additional armoring that provides pure damage resistances.

If mercs aren't the only one getting Power the slot could be for heavier weapons? Maybe like a Rocket Launcher equivalent? Sorta like the PC version of that thing where they have a missile incoming and you have to dodge.

Mercs are already proficient in heavy weapons though.
Shoulder mounted rocket launcher ftw!
The Autonomous Combat Enhancement that Amara uses is exactly that, and it functions like a drone. Not a bad option for Mercs really.
Ah I see... the only Arnold movies that I’ve seen are the Terminator ones.
You should watch more of them; the ones with Danny DeVito are hilarious.

I thought that if you had TamWolf or Siegewulfe that they would continue to fight even with your shields down and that only the starter drone goes down with your shields, I could be wrong though.
Okay, I totally forgot that Tamwolf and Siegwulf have their own shields that add to your own that are much greater than the starter drones. derp.

+1 as to make it a separate slot as to tech specialist. As it is, they are quite some accessories who are interestering (aim assisting eyepiece for one).

Then, as to convince arguments should be listed as a community effort?

Tbs.

The drone-specialized Tech is at a disadvantage compared to everyone else.
Everyone else can use the accessory slot for such as the thermal belt.
The drone tech cannot without giving up their lone advantage.

Using any method of dealing with cold that isn't a thermal pack out of Tlako's welcome baskets is completely and utterly objectively suboptimal.

Doesn't the Thermal Belt take the Shield Belt slot? Also, Xeivous is right.
Is that the kind of game this is supposed to be?
Compared to modifying your character, lowering your shields, or taking an Accessory slot, a consumable item that last for a day and is practically free should be your favorite solution. It's not like you're selecting the same equipment as everyone else, you're just not freezing to death the easiest way possible.

No, I meant, is this a game where you're recommended to do the most optimal thing and everybody else can go get fucked?

Like I see this in other threads too where you're supposed to grind everything to max and get these weapons or you're not playing the game optimally, which is not really what I was expecting from the Create Your Own OC The Game forum.

Tbh there are alot of things people want that aren't optimal, personally I wanted a Gryvain that only fights with their hands and or have claws too, but we can't have claws or claw like attacks and Fen doesn't want any races having an advantage, before that I wanted to have four arms but like taurs they are hard to write for because 4 arms and having to account for them always.

Your not always gonna be able to get what you want. Plus those people saying you gotta get this or get this are power players who want the strongest weapons, just because you don't have the Widow's kiss and the Apollo rifle doesn't mean you aren't playing correctly it just means you have weaker weapons, you don't have to get them In fact most of one of my play throughs I've been playing as a bow wielding centaur and even taken down frosty with the hardlight bow.

Just because others say you should do it this way doesn't mean you have to.

It isn't about maxing your stats or getting the latest and greatest gear. It's being ignorant of these systems and the combat system at large that is the real problem. You can run sub-optimal builds and gear but the first step to breaking the rules: learn the rules.

If you don't want to learn anything because it's a just a smut game and you insist on running your OC snowflake, just turn on easy mode and leave it at that.

Trust me, I'm not saying you need to be perfectly optimized. Until just recently I was using the Vamp Blade I got at like level 5, and I still use the Shock Bow, and my armor is just for style(though I'm a Tech so that doesn't really matter).

All I'm saying is that there is literally 0 drawback with Thermal Packs, unlike every other method to stay warm. Unless of course you wanna be a Huskar.

Though I will say that there's really no reason to not have max stats, since you can train them for free, even if just enough to spend all your points on the rest.

There needs to be another place to buy those thermal packs. Though I guess that would make Tlako pointless....

My entire point was that everyone else can use the slot for "whatever", but drone techs cannot.
