Unlike with the "Lactic Studs", the piercing stops getting mentioned in the character description on the appearance tab once it's functionality is turned off, albeit it still being there, not having been removed by Evergreen.
As far as I'm aware, the "Heat/Rut Studs" never get mentioned and this might be intended.
