While I do agree that the quad bothrioc are totally OP and a pita my, erm, complaint, is a little different. In the 2 times one of my Steele's has encountered the quad, while I was meandering my way to the Queen of the Deep, they got both holes stuffed with eggs. 8 in the vag and 8 in bowels. However, the first time Steele 'gave birth' to them, it said that 3 were fertile and 16 were infertile. Um, excuse me?! The last time I checked, eight plus eight equaled sixteen. (Or 8*2) How do I suddenly have nineteen eggs? The second time around, Steele was once again bloated with 8 eggs in the vagina and 8 eggs in the bowels. This time, there was 1 fertile egg and 16 infertile. So that equals 17. Does the game not know how to add?

o_O sounds like someone fucked up the coding with that particular part of the game. Hope you reported it in the bug section.

With all stats except libido at 50, Predator Talons, "Black Light", Reaper Armaments Mark II Shield Generator, and Nova, I have to say these are actually quite challenging. I can see how this would be near impossible for anyone with normal stats.

I think if I could avoid permanent loss of willpower, I'd care a lot less about being completely, deliciously, full of eggs from this wonderful species.

That said, my bimbo siegwulfe won the fight by herself while I was failing to escape. Even with their lust reset, they aren't hard to beat with tease attacks.

A battery of nerfs I worked out with Jacques should now be in the backer builds. They should no longer appear to level 6s, their webs now share the fire/corrosive vulnerability, and their weakness to lust is now more pronounced. Hoping this is the last tweak I have to make with them.

That is one of the most depressing things I have ever read. How could anyone hope for nerfs to our most beloved Egg-Givers? :(
(I'm joking about the most depressing bit, of course)

They're not as obnoxious as the juggernaut, since that's a game over if you lose and it can kill you in a single turn no matter what your level or equipment is if you're unlucky. But yeah, the bothrioc are crap. You can and often do lose without ever getting a single turn, since you can start off trapped and stay trapped and then get lusted to death. Alternatively, in one fight it didn't happen to trap me, and then we just went back and forth doing like 1 damage at a time to each other for about twenty turns in a row until I critted and it died. Equally lame in a different way.

As far as the lore goes, they're just big rapey spiders. The queen of the deep is supposedly an even bigger deal and she's a complete pushover by comparison. For that matter, by the time you get to Myrellion Steele can be packing weapons supposedly capable of melting a tank into a puddle of goo. If the game mechanics faithfully simulated the lore you should really just be one-shotting everything you fight, except maybe the juggernauts and turrets and that giant incinerator drone. I mean, how badass could these things really be if your idiot cousin and Dane apparently got past them unscathed?

The gameplay in TiTS sucks, I'd've thought people would be numb to that by now. Just save often and cheat if the game is being particularly full of crap.

There's this thing called easy mode you can turn on if you lack the brain cells to build a decent character.

I'm kinda in the same boat as you, man. I agree, those spiders need a bit of a rework, and I personally think that the fact that making it so a certain combat stlye is basically manditory in order to win certain fights is kinda bs. But heres where we differ: I wasnt an asshole.

Yeah, i made a complaint thread, and i admit there was some salt mixed in, but I kept my cool for the most part and said my bit in a respectful manner, stating exactly what I felt was wrong, and even tried to give some feedback on how to improve it, instead of what you did, which is basically this:

So, why don't you follow their example, and slither back into your hole.

After some incredibly un-intensive testing on max stated ranged build characters I can share some probably outdated information that most people already know. But first, a general tip for all classes: After shooting a ranged attack, the Quadomme will use her ranged evasion buff and make it a waste of a turn to keep shooting. Unfortunately melee is not a great option at this point because you can be countered, although my smuggler had a much better success rate in landing attacks without being countered. If you don't have any special abilities or consumables that you could use on your turn at this point then just wait and conserve energy. After two or three turns she will reset and her buff will go away. If you keep shooting at her while the buff is up it will reset the timer, so don't shoot! Also, if the buff is up and you have stunned or flashed her, she will still dodge ranged attacks. Confirmed for Headbutt, Paralyzing Shock and flash grenade. Another small tip is to use the time when she has the buff up to destroy the webs around you to prevent any bullshit from happening (for a little while).

For Mercenaries: Concussive Shot is your best bet. I was landing about the same damage with a concussive shot from the Korg Greatbow as I was when I landed a shot with the Stormbull, and the CS appears to have a high chance of landing even when the Quadomme has her ranged evasion up. The stun is a nice bonus as well, but remember the tip above. The trick here is to alternate the use of standard ranged attacks and CS to make the most of your energy, since she will be sapping it by making you struggle out of grapples. Use Second Wind to get back energy and keep spamming it.

For Smugglers: I tried fighting once with the Hirudo Devourer and once with the Vanquisher. Hirudo kicked ass, Vanquisher sucked. The problem is her armor. A kinetic, thermal or shock weapon will do less damage, but the devourer does corrosive damage which destroys armor. So, use the Devourer. I used Flash Grenades and got off big damage with Aimed Shots (around a hundred damage or more) while the Vanquisher struggled to stay in the thirties. The grenades work ok too but only if their armor is down. I compared damage with and without armor on and the grenades do about double the damage when the Quadomme is unarmored; ~ 65-70 compared to ~ 30-35 with armor. Really, the Hirudo Devourer + flash grenades + aimed shot makes this fight easy. (After I realized how good the Devourer was I realized my other strategies were kind of pointless compared to just "use the Hirudo Devourer and don't shoot when she activates her bullshit," but I'll leave the other strategies in just in case some people don't want to drop the 60k to get this gun.)

For Tech Specialists: Literally just spam your Gravidic Disruptor. I don't know the damage value of its counterpart, but with max INT on my build I could consistently two to three shot her with around 115-140 damage attacks. It helps that it is, you know, Unresistable damage and it can't be dodged either, even with her ranged evasion up. If you get grappled, static burst is your friend, but don't overdo it or you will find your energy depleting pretty quick.

TLDR: Use the Hirudo Devourer (bought from Kattom on Uveto for 60k), use Special Abilities as needed, and wait out the evasion buff.

Keep an eye on your addiction level. Leave the planet for awhile and let it drop before returning.
