Oh wow! There's a update for the save editor!

This means SCREW THE D R Y GRANDMA! I mean, Akane seems nice, but I don't like to be bounded and whipped for them noice weapons. (Proceeds to revert to a save that never met Akane.)

By the way, I'm thinking about doing a makeshift New Game+ with the save editor. Does adding other class perks break my save? For example, adding Merc's Lunge perk to a Tech boi.

Yes, it breaks your game and forever bans you from ever playing TiTS again. Your computer burns out and it sends all your info to the local authorities.

Dude, it makes you overpowered in a game where it’s easy to become stupidly powerful if you just take a second and use your brain.

BETHESDA WINS E3!

Huh? Oh yea.

Ugh! Fine then, Grandpa Evil. Smashing my hopes and dreams and not letting me have fun! Making me use my tiny brain and my tiny little head!

Geez, you guys can't even take a little whipping?

I suppose it's fair though, one of my friends is a Merc but doesn't do gay content so he edited the S. Hammer into his inventory.

I am not a Merc, and totally hopped on that dick anyway.

I'd hardly call it a win. FO76 is as much of a dumpster fire as the leaks suggested and the only things of value were the teases at the very end, the new doom, and the next wolfenstein game starring twins that porn is absolutely going to be made of.

Eh it's just a culmination of all the pain-play you do with her. Once you've done enough with her, showing up will all three status conditions at once unlocks it. I just had to wait because of the Frostwyrm pregnancies that I had to finish resolving.
Turns out the painslut perk is a desirable one lol. So I decided to give my Smuggler chick the Lash Cannon for that firepower and use a Widow's Kiss, Jumper shield, Jet pack, and Armstrong Suit to maintain a modicum of necessary evasion. Like 37% or so. The evasion penalty the cannon gives is mitigated by the shield recharge it provides (the Hirudo Devourer is also a slept upon gat with its extreme vampirism me thinks). Also, hey if they get the shields down at least she has an escalating damage resistance from being treated with a max of 140 lust to help out.

Just out of curiousity why hasn't anyone mentioned Taivra's Spear i mean with the coming pen for evasion screwing up a lot of the higher damage melees for everyone really. -10 evasion = 30% more damage taken. for the merc at least and possibly the smuggler. I would think the bonuses it piles on would be attractive?
5+ acc
9+ crit
6+ evade
penetrating tag
20 kinetic damage.

Petra's Phasic Whip and the Lash Cannon are now optimal Tech weapons, I think, especially since the new "-Evasion=+damage taken" thing only applies to HP damage as far as I can tell. Might not synergize with the perk that regens shields if they don't take damage, but they're beastly weapons.

Edit: Fixing an autoincorrect.

how do you get the Prototype Pirate Shield ?
Talk to Urbolg about his Shield with less than 200 Shielding. Had to ask the forums to see why I wasn't getting it, it was because I was at 215.

If you don't know, Urbolg is the first resident of Zheng Shi, the new "planet", that you meet. You have to fight him to prove you belong there, and then he'll be friendly.

Here is my vote for the merc setup.
ranged: Saurmorian railgun/ stormbull shotgun.
Melee: Taivra's spear
Shield: prototype shield
armor: Frostbane plate
Acc: explorers cloak.

Words go here

Check the first post. There are melee weapons that are much better than Taivra's spear. As a mercenary you must seek to increase fortification and resistances, while looking to cause as much damage as possible. Evasion doesn't matter much here, so you may want the Myr Greatcoat as accesory, or the Duster/Trencoat for some Electric/Burning resistance.

The F.plate is good, but the trade in statistics isn't good enough for taking it over the F.mail.

As a general announcement, I'll tell you that I'm still checking those new weapons. Some of them (the whips) aren't quite better than those on the first post, mainly due their huge evasion malus. You may've noticed that recent changes in game-mechanics have made evasion penalties much more harmful for the player, so I'll have to check how baldy it goes with a, say, -10 evasion stats.

The Lash Cannon doesn't get bonuses from Merc Perks and is less flat damage with a neg Evasion, not good for Mercs.
It winds up hitting harder than the Samaurian Railgun because it can crit and has high accuracy. I mean there other situational modifiers to consider (such as kinetic vs elec/fire resistance) but this bad boy has done serious damage just with my ranged merc alone.

Also, are we really worried about negative evasion? REEEEEEEEE...just carry a hardlight dagger and it should mitigate enough of the penalty to not worry about it.

Evasion
Percent chance to successfully run from a battle encounter and dodge targeted attacks. Evasion on items adds to the evasion bonus score, 1 evasion equals additional 1% evasion chance. The evasion value range is between 1% and 90%. Also, for every overall point of negative evasion, HP damage taken is increased by 3%

With 50 Reflex you have a natural Evasion bonus of 5%. (This is wrong it's actually 1%) With a Hardlight dagger it grants a bonus of 6 Evasion topping you off at 7%. With a -10 Evasion penalty such as the Lash Cannon you're left at -3% Evasion. Granted you'll be vulnerable to reflex debuffs, but it's doable.

Ranged Merc is gonna wreck shit with almost anything, but I don't play a Merc and my friend who does plays Melee, so I can't really compare unless I go through the trouble of making a new save and all that.

Speaking of builds though, I would like to share mine now. And my friends', since I built them.

Melee: Petra's Phasic Whip
Ranged: Shock Bow(don't laugh, it's thematic and has a +4 Evasion)
Armor: SteeleTech Suit
Shield: Pirate Prototype
Accessory: Only thing I can think of is Seigwulfe or TamWolf, currently TamWolf
Melee: Saurmorian Hammer
Ranged: Warden Shield
Armor: F.Bane Plate(poor Frosty...)
Shield: Reaper Armaments Mk.I, will probably switch soon.
Accessory: Salamander Longcoat
Ranged: Vanquisher Hand Cannon
Melee: HL Dagger
Armor: Shekka's Catsuit
Shield: Reaper, thinking about the Jumper
Accessory: Jetpack

I know that the Tech and Smuggler aren't optimal, but I think the Merc is as strong as he can be.

Did you get treated early? Or do like I did and do it later, obliterating your intelligence and willpower scores?

You can also be 'bad' and tease him into submission while he is bound.

Still fairly effective if you ask me, unless it is a blind/stun resistant Milodan.

On this particular character I believe I flew to NT as soon as possible and got Treated right away. But later on I experimented with Dumbfuck and took on a bunch of additional penalties she really didn't need.

I have never used Dumbfuck. Honestly I forgot about it since only Dr. Badger sells it... I think. Fortunately my bimbo painslut smuggler is the one character who futa/slutted Penny.

Anywho, now for the penultimate test of my slutty smuggler build.

Lash cannon indeed.

I also looked back over the Warden Shield for my melee merc and after realizing my hangup about equipping the Aegis LMG instead was the old can't melee flying enemies hangup. That no longer applies to the melee merc, so I decided to run with it.

Though if you would prefer having twenty-five extra shields and the ability to at least do some ranged damage, I wouldn't blame you for keeping it.

Here's my try with the lash cannon on my ranged merc.

Combat went as thus:
First round: Take cover
Rapid Fire
Rapid Fire
Rapid Fire
Rapid Fire
Down

It was cool back in the day when we just tanked the guy but now we're completely out DPS'ing poor Doc Lash. Rest in pepperonis.

Lol. Yeah, I found that the mag binders do not work on Dr. Lash. So in my first attempt he promptly slaughtered me. So it was flash bangs, that failed to connect about three times. He also landed the odd lucky shot in even while blinded and punished me greatly with a few hits when I missed.

Oh and getting some home cooked meal in ya and a good grooming would probably really stack the buffs up with a crystal shard and fencing lessons (lightning moves).

Is Buck Nasty gonna have to choke a bitch?

Any new/good gear recommendations for a ranged smuggler? I've been babymoding with merc for so long, and I tried smuggler recently and proceeded to get mashed by many of the new enemies.

Currently using Hirudo Devourer, Nyrean Queen Spear, Gemstone Links, Jetpack, and Reaper Shield.

Jumper shield belt, has evasion on it but only 100 shields.

Ranged or Melee? Stacking Evasion is obvious, but the Hirudo should be doing just fine for Ranged.

The lack of a damage bonus for certain weapons leaves them open to anything, though I wish they got a damage bonus for smaller weapons, to fit with the roguish fighting style.

Are you playing properly, using your Flashbang/Low Blow/Mag Binders to open enemies to your big damage? Smugglers work a little different than the other classes that way, kinda cool I think.

Shekka's Catsuit or Frostbane Mail have 14 Evasion and Jumper Shield has 4 Evasion but only 100 shielding, I suggest you at least update the armor.

I'm using ranged. Yeah, I've been trying to use Flashbang, but it's not working very consistently. I only manage to blind them maybe half the time. My skill is around 40, I guess I'll grind it up to 50 though. I'll take Mag Binders when I hit level 10 (level 9 at the moment); some enemies are immune to blind, so having an alternative debuff is nice.
