I try to balance style and function. My main Steele (a techie) currently has the Essyra Greatspear, the Apollo Plasma Rifle/Hardlight Rifle, the Black Void Armor Plate, the Reaper Armaments Mark I Shield Generator, Fenris-class Assault Drone, Thermal Underwear and a Slepra Down Bra.

I gotta add a caveat to some of these builds in the O.P. While they do list the best "stat sticks", they're not necessarily the most synergistic. If you go with a melee build, for example, you don't really care about the damage in your ranged slot 95% of the time, so it's better to find a ranged weapon with good defensive stats; the Warden Shield is good for Evasion and general tankiness, while the Aegis Machine Gun is better for a more shield-focused build. To be honest, this strategy works for all melee builds, regardless of class.

hey, Saumorian Railgun or Stormbull Shotgun because Saumorian have High damage but Loses Crit and the damaga between the two is close. Anyone can confirm ? @Coalsack

The railgun has more damage and the second shot from 'second shot' is almost guaranteed. The shotgun, while having less damage, has the chance to crit and high accuracy. That said, I've found myself missing more often with the shotgun.

All right i stick with accuracy, thanks.

Few More guns and we should be carrying this... especially the third one.

After some more testing, I realized that the Sturmbull shotgun is quite less useful than the Saumorial Railgun. If you're a Mercenary, you should always get the Railgun over the shotgun. The crit damage doesn't make up against the guaranteed multi-hit and the overall increased damage output.

Besides the shield, is there any new weapon added on the last build?

What are your thoughts about the Ratty Armor Urbolg sells?

12 Defense, 16 Fortication. 0% on all resistances though, and it's neither Mirrored or Airtight...

The middle-tier Frostbane Armor (the one that Tuuva makes from the dead wyrm scales) has those:
Frostbane Mail: 10 Defense, 7 Evasion, 20 Fortification. 33% Freezing resistance.

It still has better fortification, and while it has -2 Defense, it compensates that with freezing resistance and increased evasion. Of course, if you are a merc and don't want to kill the thing, the Ratty Armor should replace the Weavemail Coat as second-best option.

Tech Spec. have better options (Armstrong Premium suit and Steele Tech, tough I hate both of them for some reason. They look really ugly on my mind.) Smugglers could use the Gemstone links or aforementioned Armstrong suit for evasion boosts.

Overal, is usefull if you're a Merc and don't want to kill the dragon. Outside that, you'll easily find better alternatives to suit your job.

Side note: I've refrained from including the Nova goo armor on those lists due the fact that its stats are gonna change in the next builds, due an upgrade, from I've heard, so I want to be sure before making a judgement.

Oh the Goo armour is finally going to get an upgrade? That's good news as it was a bit of a shame how it's soon outclassed.

Wait, no weapons from Akane?

Are they good or haven't been added in yet?

From the wording it seems like the whip might be different depending on your class.

Not Earth
Okay, they have been added in.

I guess I gotta hang out with D R Y grandma more. (Seriously, my goo Steele didn't get fluids at all from doing "Tender Oral")

Finally let Akane beat the shit out me with a whip, which is cool since I just consider it a part of my Thraggen training anyways.

Dancing Flash Blade is better than Frozen Spire, the flavor text just makes it seem, 'fragile'. Kinda like a monofilament blade or something.

Low Tech Solutions - Increases damage from Kinetic melee weapons by 20%.
Critical Blows - Your strikes and shots gain a 10% chance of inflicting double damage on normal melee and ranged attacks.
Cleave - Grants an extra, low-accuracy swing when fighting groups of enemies or “plural” type foes.
Riposte - Grants increased evasion after any melee attack made for the remainder of the combat round.
Second Attack - Allows you to make a second, low-accuracy attack whenever you perform a melee attack. Can stack with “Cleave.”

Go get some fencing lessons from Fynn and bust a crystal shard.

A bit over-the-top for being weapons made exclusive for an NPC with such a...niche kind of content. But looking at the stats, the cannon and the flashblade may be quite useful for Tech Specialists. Chaurmine's Railgun still tops any other weapons with raw damage with little to no drawbacks (41 kinetic damage with a -3 of evasion)

If they're good enough, I may give in and simply cheat them in, since that NPC stuff is a huge NO for me. Then again, I may have to look at the stat of every whip, if it's one for each class.

The painslut perk is a bit worse lol

There is a perk? I didn't go that far to be honest. Akane should probably give a slow willpower stat boost.

I am aware of Chaurmine's gear, but it isn't something my merc character would do. Akane is tolerable because on some instinctual level, I know deserved it.
The other character kinda sorta blew up Tarkus 'accidentally'. <_<

And I thought Stinging Bruises and Damaged Tubes were rough...

Eh it's just a culmination of all the pain-play you do with her. Once you've done enough with her, showing up will all three status conditions at once unlocks it. I just had to wait because of the Frostwyrm pregnancies that I had to finish resolving.

Again, I think that's quite unfair that several high-tier weapons are tied behind such an unlikeable character. At least with Chaurmine it's only one.

If Kattom gets a Zheng Shi update, it'll be a non issue. Until some writers write up some NPCs that some aspects of the fandom don't care for gates items behind them.

I like Akane, but I don't think I'm gonna go Painslut.
